I finally fixed my problem after 2 days. It was a simple fix. I had imported controls. I changed it to default. Works perfectly now.
@@dxvid1417 this was simple to follow but for others it cud spring doubt as to what to do concerning id to download .NET windows to convert DS4.exe into a folder
Mentioning requirements can bring us instant clarity and prevent us questioning if we tapped wrong button or did it in an incorrect order

GOOD LOOK BRO! I swear I just spent 2 hours trying to problem solve this sh-t, the version you found works perfect. The installation for the one you linked has that other driver as step 1, that has to be the problem. The DS4 site and that version also have dead links to microsoft for the driver as well. Not sure if anyone answered, but I'll also do it. What "Hide DS4 Controller" does is, it instruct windows to hide the fact that it's a sony playstation controller and not a compatible one or an xbox controller. That's it. That's all it does. If you play a game compatible with xbox controllers (take Grid 2 for example), it will give you xbox specific instructions (Pres A to continue, press B to something else, yada yada yada), even if you have a ds4 connected.

When I go to the Controller/Driver Setup, it says the driver is already installed. After uninstalling HID-compliant game controller & restarting. It puts that HID driver back after restarting. When I check hide DS4 Controller it doesn't ask to make changes to the computer or anything.
I've tried about everything I can find/think of already. Uninstalling everything related to DS4 and reinstalling, installed drivers from DS4, tried bluetooth, uninstalled the driver for the controller and plugging it back in, Big Picture settings and still not being recognized in there either. I'm really not sure what else to do at this point, if you're able to help out!
I know this is going to sound really dramatic but I promise you, you really helped my ass out. From the start of the video I realised we had the same background, I knew I had found a real homie. Your voice assured me this was the way as I followed your instructions. Watching my controller light turn blue after attempting to hook it up to my pc for 2 months was almost orgasmic. Now I can play fallout new Vegas, l4d2, And my dad can try insurgency sandstorm on controller. Thank you very much! For over a year now no controller was functioning anymore nor was it recognized by any game (that was happening on purpose after an update, to be forced to buy 100 $ controllers from one certain brand and prevent all cheap and stylish looking 10$ USB- or 2.4G-wireless-controllers from functioning). Steam was solving the problem very good so far with Steam-input activation, but there are certain emulators and programs that cannot be used with Steam. Now everything is perfectly fine with my good old PS4 controller that is now no longer blocked :)

Ok but what to do if windows 10 isn't even picking up the controller? I've tried using different cables and USB ports, sometimes the light on the controller doesn't even come on, and it's not being picked up in device manager.

hey when i press on the controller in the control panel it doesn’t show any hid driver only a bluetooth hid device and the wireless controller, whenever i try and connect the actual controller the bar turns yellow(it’s normally blue and i don’t ever change it through ds4 windows) and after a few seconds the controller switches off.

My controller still won’t detect and when I go to control panel it’s now showing up there either. The ps4 controller is pulsing an orange yellow light. Still works on the ps4

You have to reinstall the driver to try and get it to show up in your control panel.
Idk why mine stopped working
accidentally deleted the default profile on ds4 windows and now nothing works anymore. it finds my controller but then immediately stops after it finds it. i try to press the start button again and then the program doesn't respond so i have to close it. literally nothing fixes this and i've tried everything

COMMON PROBLEMS AND THIER SOLUTIONS: (NOTICE: I will add more as I find them, feel free to comment any you find as well)
Problem: Audio no longer works when my controller started working.
Solution: This is good because your pc is detecting your controller and it's an easy fix! | Follow these steps, control panel < Hardware and Sound < Sound < Playback < find your controller and right click it, click disable. Make sure your headset is set as a default device and make sure it is enabled.
Problem: It says .net must be installed
Solution: Make sure you watch the video closely and download the right version. If you are on windows 10 get the 64 bit version.
Make sure you are using a ps4 brand charging cable to connect your controller to your ps4!

Uninstall ds4 windows completely and start from the beginning that was the only thing that worked for me. Make sure you aren't just deleting it, go to uninstall a program under control panel.

When I go to hardware devices and printers my controller does not pop up. It is plugged in to a working usb port on my pc. Ive tried plugging it in to other ports and it still does not pop up for some reason. Any fix for this?
For me when I click on the DS4Windows thing, it says the app you're trying to install isn't a Micosoft-verified app. Then I can't do anything past there.

I have this new problem. After updating the ds4 software, the gamepad stopped working in game pass games. Steam works fine. Connecting via usb works, but the buttons are messed up. Also it shows as connected in the ds4 app but in the xinput checker it says not connected. Weird stuff.
