Thank you for posting this excellent sonic organ tour. I had the great pleasure of performing a full recital on this wonderful instrument 28 April 1992, and to this day consider it among the handful of greatest organs I have ever played.
Fascinating tonal tour. I well remember playing the Redcliffe Organ whilst on holiday in Bristol as my son, Colin, sang in the Choir there for some years before he moved to Birmingham. Best Wishes to Andrew Kirk. We were supposed to hear your Recital in St. Mary, Nantwich, whilst on holiday in August, but that has been cancelled for this year as has our holiday.
We didn't get to hear the other 32' reed, even after it was mentioned. In fact, the Pedal division was skipped entirely. We didn't hear the individual chorus reeds on the Great or Swell divisions. A mediocre presentation at best.
This organ is definitely one of the first organs on my "bucket list" to hear and hopefully play someday! Shame we really have nothing like this in the USA
I think you have, if you follow the excellent demonstrations and concerts of Balint Karosi. And remember that D Skinner came from the Harrison works in the UK.
@@peteacher52 you mean E. M. Skinner? Or G. Donald Harrison of Aeolian-Skinner? If the latter, he was nothing to do with the Durham Harrisons. He was a Lewis/Willis III man.

It is one of my favourite organs in the world for many reasons, Bristol is my home city, I was lucky enough to sing in the choir there (once) many years ago and I page turned for a recitalist. Plus I heard Carlo Curley there in the 90's, which was interesting!
The 32ft Double Ophicleide is there towards the end but not demonstrated separately. The compressed sound on RUclips doesn’t reveal its full grandeur, as heard in the beginning. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the presentation.
From 16:16 one could almost believe onesself to be at Wanamakers! Sadly, despite Mark Venning's comment, I think that Cor Anglais very mediocre and certainly no equal for those either of Father Willis or of E. M. Skinner...

Been to countless recitals there over the years. Am puzzled as to why it is so seldom recorded.
Paul S there are 7 or 8 commercial recordings of the organ from the past 10 years!
