Just to say it, Abaddon can barely keep the Traitors working for a common goal, what chance does some word bearer have? Also I would've though Admiral Catallia would be running away in fear, the Vengeful Spirit did decimate her entire fleet single-handedly.
I would not work or serve Chaos for one simple reason: You can´t trust anyone. Everyone has an angle and in Chaos army, it´s pretty much a dog-eat-dog world. Everyone under you or your peers would sacrifice you in an instant to gain more power. And that is if you are lucky enough to survive some time. Also, if you are not careful, you get turned into a mutant which makes a born mutant in Imperium look normal in comparison.
the imperium has similar issues but it's much less bad, also joining Chas is much worse than you described, you're going to be driven insane over time no matter who you serve (khorne will drive you mad with rage, slaanesh will degrade you into a creature that makes Ted Bundy look like a saint, Tzeentch will drive you nuts as well and Nurgle makes you delusional as hell), also despite being granted immortality if you do still manage to die your soul will be slowly and painfully ripped apart by chaos demons. honestly you'd be better off joining the Tau or even Necrons. IIRC some Necron dynasties could turn humans into one of them but I don't know if that's still cannon.
@@sneedfeedandseed2410 Tau maybe or living in some world in Ultramar is better than slowly losing yourself after you get rebuilt from battle damage. Low-ranking Necrons lost everything they were overtime as the War in Heaven kept going and even highest ranking ones got their original selves damaged during Great Sleep minus few extremely lucky exceptions. With the Imperium at least most of the time you are allowed to be yourself as long as you serve the status quo competently.
