- Some have called this the hardest start in the world of Kenshi. Where as it does contain many challenges and obstacles to overcome, hardest may be a stretch. Training, grinding and subterfuge are the name of this game. By day we follow our prisoner tasking (sometimes) by night we summon our inner deviant and progress ourselves towards the ultimate goal of escape. These Holy Nation incells don't know what sort of beast they attempt to contain. They think that I am trapped by them? No... They are trapped by me...

my first start was as a slave and i came out of the prison swinging with 55 martial arts, 60 strenght and somehow a 200k bounty on my head from the holy nation

To this day i do not know how i managed to accumulate a 200k bounty, i've never been able to replicate it

@@PapaCheddar probably not? i'm not sure, kinda left fast before i got overwhelmed, it is unlikely tho, holy nation units have decent armor so you never quite deal fatal blows until harpoon launchers or high mastery + strenght weapons.

Okran is actually the name of a giant skeleton that shielded a small fraction of living beings from the explosion at the end of the Second Age.
Even though the rest of his kin were sent to their deaths by the humans (marched to the now frozen melting pits north of the fog) he still kept them safe.

I greatly enjoy the lore of this game. Especially the mystery if it all lol. But in Holy Phussy we trust
if you try slave grinding again you can click the ground next to your character if they are using a machine to make them sometimes pick another machine on the other side of rebirth to help with grinding strength and athletics. you only agro the guards 1 out of 10 times. (some beatings are still good for that sweet toughness)

My kenshi experience was farming for a few hours till I got a house, than while mining for rock I had to use the bathroom. No biggie I figured, I’m mining rock anyway, so I left and when I came back I was a slave…

Honestly, the slave start is surprisingly easy if you spawn into rebirth, and are willing to take your time.
Picking the locks, then beating up other prisoners and getting beat by the guards until your character levels up to super high stats.
Then making a breakout by defeated everyone on your way out.
Its like the perfect training center for making a superhuman.
It really is 🤣 almost trivial if you're willing to do the time haha.
Can you start as a slave elsewhere? Other than rebirth?

You can also sneak everywhere, and once your sneak is around 70-80, just wait til a guard goes down, steal their armor, and just walk out. Just make sure to take off enough to break the disguise if you plan on going to the flotsam ninjas, otherwise your journey will be painfully short
I have dabbled in looking at the various start mods, there seem to be infinite possibilities 😂
It just comes down to meal planning. You don’t need food for training, only for escaping, so I only start eating a day or two before I escape.
Well if this video is any indication, I may have just found my new favourite... Good shit mate. I'll be hanging around for sure

Dude, started a slaves run. I looked away for like 5 minutes and the next thing I know one of my characters somehow walked out of prison and up a hill to an abandoned outpost to the east of the prison. I saw a skeleton walking along and talked to him, he just joined me and I got him to carry my injured character all the way to the hub lmao. Then my other character had to stay longer until their stealth was high enough to knock out a guard and walk out in a disguise. Dude is a master thief now, stealth in the 50s, can almost 100% knock out any shopkeeper and the guards, AND lock pick the safe all before they wake up.
When you're so good at prison breaks the game just does it for you 🤣
This takes me back to when I started as a prisoner in Kenshi, slowly built my skills and stats up, and became a master thief/assassin while still imprisoned. Every night, I would sneak out and bash guards in the head, lock them in a cage, steal all their gear, then stash it in a random crate, then get back in my cage before the rest of the guards found me. Eventually, I lead a revolt and released all of the rest of the prisoners and slaves, then snuck into Lady Kana's quarters, knocked her out, stole her gear, and imprisoned her in my cage, then made good my escape. It was a super fun and hilarious playthrough. Note, anyone placed in a cage is treated like a prisoner by the rest of the guards. LOL

If you keep unlocking manacles and saving them in containers, you can build up enough to fill your inventory.. they will really help boost your strength.
That's a good tip. Yesterday I finally did that with shuss 😂 should've done it from the start... She'd be yoked haha
Rebirth is the best gym in all of Kenshi. Let the game run for a while and you'll significantly increase labouring, sneak out every night and you'll level all your stealth skills, steal food and run around for semi-idle athletics leveling, attack and you'll get healed immediately, steal the cleavers from the guards and block to both level blocking and gradually cripple your bare-fisted opponents until they can no longer attack and are free to finish them off. If you stay in Rebirth until you kill all the standing guards.
Start calling it rebirth fitness. Those aren't slaves they're just here for a pump 🤣

Slave start is easiest, food sorted, healing sorted. Lots of lockpicking, toughness, sneak and martial training.

Honestly once you have enough experience with Kenshi the slave start is one of the easiest. You dont need money, don't need food, if you get beat up you get patched up for free, you just focus on grinding your skills until you feel ready to leave, possibly recruiting other escaped slaves in the process. 10/10 would recommend

Another cat told me about a mod that makes prisoner much harder. Increases guards and patrols. Haven't got a name though, but could be fun aha
@@PapaCheddar if you want an actual hard start, it's either rock bottom or the Cannibal Hunters. The UC slave farms are much worse training grounds than Rebirth and you don't start in the safety of civilization, while with the cannibal hunters you may not even be able to escape with one of your guys and after the first tribe you'll then have to dodge other tribes, gutters and not starve to death in your search for anyone friendly.
Cannibal hunters is one i really want to try out. That and torso of course 😂

I tried hiring an extra person just to abandon them to slavery as a training method.
At some point the guards either ran out of bandages or simply tired of my shit and let them die on the floor.

@@PapaCheddar There's 100s of Holy Nation Guards walking around on the Genesis version. Very difficult to escape, but it is possible. I just started again, My play thorough is start as a rebirth slave, escape, grow weed, make money, build an army, slaughter the holy nation, free Rebirth.

Shek aren't actually Lizardpeople. What you see on their body are bone plates, not scales. I don't think this is directly confirmed in game, but there are a few things that actually point to Shek being some form of modified Humans.
That's what a few cats have said too. Like an engineered human for military application. But at a glace my first thought was lizard 😅
lore wise, shek are referred to as "enforcers", they were specifically genetically modified to be a race of combat focused people. which is why their entire culture is based around the warrior spirit and warfare and shit. Like it's literally coded into their genetics, they're kinda like 40K orks in a way, they have a biological need to fight shit. (mainly skin-spiders since they were also designed to keep the skin-spider population in check.)
So they should all be given harpoons to lay down the dakka 😂

18:10 Rebirth is a potential source of recruits with some combat stats. This is very unreliable, however, as all of their combat stats range from 0 to 30 (even up to 36 if racial bonuses are included).
21:46 Well, I myself first escaped from Rebirth by disguising myself as a guard....
Although no, before that there was another attempt, when I sneaked through the gate using stealth, but in the end I got into a dead end and had to go back, especially since I fled in a hurry (just checking my stealth, to be exact), so I had no food at all .
Back to my disguise. This time I saved a couple of pieces of dried meat and went to the gate to check the quality of my disguise... well, the disguise worked.
Then I got to the nearest city, skinned the raptors killed by the guards, sell it, bought food, continued to loot the wild life killed by the guards, got my first recruit, returned to Rebirth for my second character, returned to the city... only then did I find out that next to the guards must not linger nearby, then they will have time to take a closer look and expose my disguise.
30:58 Perhaps you should have taken off your shackles? It's a penalty to your stealth skill after all...

Simo is great imo. One of the few RUclipsrs i watch somewhat regularly. He had a bandit series (i think) that i recall being pretty good. I recommend him for sure. He does alot of crusader kings and Mount and blade stuff, but some kenshi is sprinkled in there lol.
If we could still post external links in comments, I'd show you just how broken high stealth is. Picture a hive prince wearing 60% of a sentinel's armour and no one in Stack being any the wiser, including High Inquisitor Seta.

Slave start is pretty fun, as you can just be a general douchebag and not really worry about getting killed over it , so yea you can labor and stuff in day and sneak around lockpick and try to assassinate at night.
Heck, I once made a character that tried to fight his way out over and over again, getting beat up and leveling the stats, until one day he did beat his way out XD

Guys im new to Kenshi. Why are some weapons colored red while some others arent? Curently just started as a Wanderer.
Colored red? Hmmm... Only thing I can think of if it's stolen? But it would say "Stolen" in the item ui.
They also have various degrees of quality. Like shoddy, standard, high, masterwork. Each with their own color.
I'm new as well so i could be wrong though 😂
Weapons have a different texture depending on their level of quality. Rusted junk is the worst quality and it's a very deep and patchy red, then you have shoddy quality with a lighter and even layer of rust, then old refitted blades almost have no rust on them. Above this level of quality are weapons of recent manufacture that start from dark gray and are shinier the higher quality they are until you reach the unique weapons in the game, of the highest quality, which are almost a pure white.
Armour doesn't visually change with quality.

Oh yes, for years I have been using what I call the asshole slave strategy. Basically, I have tried to see exactly how many things I can train while being a slave.
So, you discovered knocking out slaves, you can knock out the guards too, and if you want take their armor and weapons, this way you can fight them longer and they will do less damage (but give less experience per hit, the more dangerous enemy the more xp!). A fun thing you can try is put the slave manacles on the guards, they will become slaves too! The manacles are the most heavy object you can find, filling your inventory with them and then letting your slave go about their day automatically is the easiest way to train strength.
This work better on the smaller mines, but you can walk up to the wall mounted crossbows and start shooting the guards, they will get real confused and it will take them a while to arrest you, while you get plenty of XP.
Now, you can also train building because there is a place in Rebirth where you can go outside the walls, a small valley I think where there is some mines that the slaves work. If you go far enough back there is a small area outside the zone of control for Rebirth where you can place down buildings. So you nix some of the building materials that are being produced and build yourself a shack, then you can start researching, and from there you can do a lot of the things you can do in a base! Tip; its a bit finicky as the guards tends to arrest you when you assume direct control, but not always, so the safest way is to load up on building materials and wait for you to automatically head to the mines outside the wall in the valley. Or you can try and walk past and if they aggro run as far as you can into the valley and drop the stuff and try again until they don't aggro.
Once you got structures placed and storage you can start stealing food and store them there along with other equipment for your eventual breakout. I believe the roads there go back trough a gate, so you aren't exactly free there either, but a good place to free slaves from captivity as its outside the zone of control, so they will join you or run off and likely be captured again, so you can try again.
There is many more things to do as a slave, its basically my training program for new recruits to toughen them up, but that is a start!

@@PapaCheddar I know right? I almost feel like making a video demonstrating it cause its so hillarious. Basically, every city have a zone of control going out from it center in some radius where you can't build in but Rebirth is so large that some places are actually outside that zone of control while also being inside what you would define its walls.

For where it is, I can do my best to explain it to you, but I can't send any links with screenshots here on youtube comments, I might get banned if I try. Actually, I use the same username pretty much everywhere, you could contact me on some other website, my email would be the same name, with a 3 after and then hotmail with a com ending (gonna remove this once you respond to this comment, don't want bots picking up on it). I know, I also can upload some pictures on my steam account, gonna tag them Kenshi Rebirth Base, not sure if you can see them without being friends, but I will see if I can make that happen. So feel free to ad me there if you want to, whatever option works for you.
So, the position is basically in the direction the big statue is looking, behind the wall there is some rocks that slaves go to mine, so I condsider it within Rebirth, its in the caldera anyway. Further in that valley, to the left there is a small opening that leads into a tiny valley with an iron resource, just above that iron you can place a building and make a base.
So here is something to note; various constructions you can make have various distances it needs to be from a NPC city, my current theory is that there is 2 distances; one for base building and one for camp buildings, tough some small constructions like the outhouse falls within the camp radius. The camp radius is much smaller, so you can build fireplaces and bedrolls within the walls of rebirth on the higher up paths, but not the buildings, they have to be build near that iron (If you use mods, a fun little thing is if you use the extended campsite mod, you can build you own prisoner poles within rebirth and put guards and slaves in them!). That valley allows you to escape rebirth trough a long and winding path, so its up for debate if you consider it within the walls. But here is the kicker, after you build that first building near the iron, your settlement gets its own radius that kind of... pushes back rebirths radius. Or rather, it seems that now its radius, where your settlement and Rebirth overlaps, allows you to build building in the campsite radius, meaning you can put your settlement entirely within the walls of Rebirth, and then just remove the building near the iron resource. Oh, and just take stone from the mines and put them in the machines in rebirth, they don't do that on their own, but you can produce building materials just fine.
Now if you have your settlement in the valley where you have to go trough the gates, there is a little trick to getting trough it safely, see, the way game works when you are a obedient slave is that it goes from work spot to work spot, and so long you are doing that it does not consider you escaped, that includes work spots that you order your slave to work on. So you simply order it to work on one of the stone mine in that valley behind the gate, then over to the iron mine once close enough.
The even more fun part is that works on any machine. Like outhouses, I have some hilarious pics on my steam account of my slave sitting on the loo, with a guard screaming at him to work harder and that the beast is rotting within. But it even works with turrets. Now, Rebirth don't have turrets, but all the other slave camps do, so what you can do is if you wanna train turrets is to put your slave in one of those and then start to shoot the gate guards, they will get angry, but the game gets really confused considering you and enemy and not an enemy, so the will just mill around shouting angrily while you shoot them down. If they somehow mill close enough they will smack you and carry you back, which happens eventually, but it earns you plenty of turret XP
My idea for a video is basically seeing how far I can go staying a slave entirely within Rebirth building a secret base there. I am thinking I can get wandering merchants to trade building materials and iron for supplies, the area is considered dead arid, so I don't if you can grow food, but hey, that is what being a slave is for, you won't die of hunger. What I can't remember is if wandering traders bring science books, if they do I could go very far.
Feel free to use anything I mentioned in your video, I am just happy to see people enjoying my ideas and if you want you can write to me about other tips, ideas and funny things I found, I tend to play my games in a very odd manner where I just have fun exploring the limits of how the game works and what you can do so I have lot of tidbits to share. That includes games like dwarf fortress and CDDA if you ever end up playing those.
