Engle Bait Cooler
I bought an Engel Bait Cooler box and slightly added a few simple modifications to ensure it works for a long time for my use. I normally don't use bait so this will be used sparingly, but I want it to last. Putting a check valve or a one way valve will make sure my diaphragm will last aa very long time - adding a long airstone ensures more volume in circulation and will help keep my baits alive and healthy.
If you are thinking of buying an Engel Bait Cooler Box or a similar product, think about putting these two things in it to ensure your baits will keep stronger and longer.

Hi Kit, whats a good rule of thumb for the amount of live bait you can keep inside something like that without compromising how long they can live for?

I will put about 2 kg of shrimp on this. The more water you can turn over, the more bait you can put in.

not to be a buzz kill but that system wont vent the buildup of co2, it needs holes on top

Easy to get around - when at home or while fishing, you can just unlatch the lid.
