My concern is the future of true nurseries like this one and the Green Thumb chain. As you can see, they need space (land) and in O.C that makes developers drool! Down here in S. OC we have a Green Thumb right off El Toro and the 5 freeway. I'm willing to bet developers/capitalists such as 5 Points and Donny Bren have bids in already. That is partially what did in Drive-in theaters in CA.
I owned a barbershop at Main and LaVeta in Orange for many years called Alley Cuts, which was purchased through eminent domain in the mid-90s-a CVS sits where my old barbershop was. The little Spanish house/business you show in your video is one of the properties that The City of Orange asked me to look at during our settlement negotiations. There was, I believe, a car wash next to the Spanish home, or it was next to the nursery across the street. Anyway, at that time, the Spanish home was a hair salon, but it still had the feel and bones of its original Spanish home interior, including a fireplace. It looks almost exactly how I remember it from over thirty years ago. I put my barber shears away long ago and returned to school. I now live in Rancho Mirage, and I’m an ESL Professor and teach at a community college. Yet, to this day, not buying that cute little Spanish home is still one of my regrets so many years ago. Thanks for your video. P.S. Your video is interesting because I showed pictures of the old John Wayne Airport from the 1960s and 70s last night in one of my classes. I used to have dinner or drinks at Delaney’s restaurant, which was on the airport's second floor, and watch all the little planes arrive and take off. Orange County has grown so much over the years that it doesn’t feel or look the same for some of us old-timers. Thanks again!
What an interesting story. The old John Wayne Airport when passengers walked out onto the airfield to the planes and climb the stairs to board. I used to like watching the flights coming and going at Delaney's and that outside observation deck. Hard to believe that little terminal building used to handle the traffic that it did before the current airport terminal opened. Baggage claim outside.......very different experience compared to now.
Passed by there hundreds of times, I should visit, looks like a gem of a place
I come here every season! it's one of the cutest nursery OC have.
Such a nice place!
A gorgeous nursery with so many delightful things to see. Just love the miniature houses. Thanks for the tour Anthony. Enjoy 🪴

It looks like they have bonsai plants and beautiful ones at that. Would have liked to have seen.
