The 2FA is more a problem than a security option in my opinion. I also lost my phone and with it i am not able to login into my discord anymore. I will never activate this again in discord.
Hi, have you been using cloud sync on your last phone? If yes, then the only thing you have to do is go to the settings, backup, turn on your cloud sync and the code should be restored to your device.
it's so easy to lose your account with them it's not even funny. i happened to wipe my authenticator app and they act like they cant do anything. obviously they're leaving troubled users shorthanded

Cloud backup isn't compatible between Google Drive and iCloud, so if you'd like to secure your codes in case of an emergency, you can export the codes manually and store the .json file in a safe place. Then, if anything happens, you can easily transfer it to your new phone.

Backup codes are for specific services and are provided by them. So if they still issue them, then they are still a thing. As for our app, if you have the manual backup then you have nothing to worry about. Just remember to update it whenever you add new services 😉

Hi there! The first and most important thing is that you can restore everything with what you have right now. Even if you lose or break your phone, after you log in to the same Google account on the new one, all the codes will be restored when you turn on the backup (you can also import them manually from the file you created). As for the backup codes, they are issued by the services such as Discord in case you lose your 2FA app and codes, and need to log in (and you're safe from that). Each service has their own backup codes that you have to store on your own on your PC for example. We don't issue those backup codes because they are specific to each service. Hope it helped resolve the worry a little bit 😁
If you have the data (all the codes) stored on your phone, then you can safely reset the backup password. Never delete the codes because it will lock you out of the services.

Yes, if you remember the password that you set up while creating a manual copy, then you'll be able to access the codes on other devices after importing the said file.

Without any kind of backup, you only can contact the Facebook customer service, explain the situation and ask them to help you with retrieval of your account.
That shouldn't be an issue when it comes to FB support since the accounts operate based on your mail and or phone number. So use those to contact their support. 2FA also doesn't take your personal data into consideration so it will never be an issue here also.

The easiest way to get everything back is to quickly log in to the same Google Account on another Android phone and turn on backup there to restore all the codes. After that, export the codes manually in 2FAS Backup -> Export, and transfer the file to your iPhone. Then you'll be able to import everything in the same place.

Yes you can't open the backup file on a PC because it's stored in a private folder accessible only by the phone app (to make it as secure as possible), and the app is not on a PC. Also, if it were accessible on a PC, it could be accessed by hackers.
the hacker would have to break into your Google Drive/iCloud account by figuring out that first and then they would have to break into the 2FAS password you put on the backup so technically its double protected so technically not impossible but somewhat unlikely

We can't do anything from our side unfortunately, we can't "hack" into it or access your backup codes since you know we don't have access to that data and it would be exactly against everything that 2FAS stands for.
I am on Android and my wife on iPhone. I assume with cloud backup that we cannot have our data synced using the cloud. This is important because if I get hit by a bus, she can still access my 2FA accounts. Is there a solution for this cross-platform issue with 2FAS? Did you use the Google drive/iCloud backup? If not, and you also have't exported the file with your codes, then the only thing you can do is write to the support teams of the services and ask them to temporarily disable 2fa on your account.

If you need to turn off 2FA on any service, then you need to log in to that service, locate the 2FA options and manually turn it off. Remember, don't delete any services in the app before disabling 2FA because that will block you out of this account.
If you have no way of restoring everything, then you should contact the support teams of the services you want to get access to. They can help you restore your account.

If you had turned the backup on your broken phone, then simply follow the steps from the video and turn it back on, on your new phone. If you didn't have it, then write to Facebook support and ask them to turn off 2 Factor-Authentication on your account.

If you haven't backed up anything, then, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do. We don't store your data for privacy reasons. You must write to the services you have 2FA enabled on and ask them to turn it off.
All you can do now is to try reaching out to every service and ask them to turn off 2FA on your account. And next time use 2FAS app with 2FAS backup options :)

Sounds perfect for me, I have used Google authenticator in the past, lost my phone and so lost my codes. My question: If I turn on sync (with good Drive), then I lose my phone, and I turn on sync on the new device in the app (and log in with the SAME google Drive account), are the codes back? I have seen with a provider that the codes are tied to the phone number. Are the codes tied to *only* the google drive account, or does the cell phone number matter? (If it's just the Google account, that would be perfect).

Login to the service, use you backup codes to complete your login and then turn off your 2FA and turn it back on. You'll get you new private key and new backup codes. Bravo for saving your backup codes!!!
Since Android and iOS phones use different backup systems that's google drive and iCloud, then the only thing you can do is contact the support teams of the app that you enabled 2FA on and ask them to turn it off.

@@2FAS I deleted everything on my phone, and when I logged into my Gmail account, they send a code to my phone that consists of 6 numbers. I enter 6 numbers, and when I log in, they send the code to the account that I lost.
That is a valid worry. That's why there is an option to create a manual backup of the codes, and you'll be able to store this backup whenever you want and deem secure.
I would pay for your service. I know you made a video, that your service will stay free, but I think your App is great and you schould also get financial validation for that.

Sorry to hear that :( The only option is to try to contact Facebook. Please consider using the 2FAS application instead of Google Authenticator. 2FAS has backup options and a trash bin for such situations.
That's why you should've use the 2FAS app with the Backup option on :) Now, all we can suggest you is to contact each service and ask them how can you get your accounts back without 2FA tokens.
If you'd like to synchronize iOS and Android via cloud, unfortunately, it's not possible as they use two different cloud systems. You can synchronize them manually by exporting a file from one device and importing it on the second one. This way, you'll have the same codes on both devices, with the caveat that you'll have to manually synchronize them every time you add a new code on one of the devices.

The manual export is not connected to Google or iCloud so the issue probably lies there. Go to Settings -> 2FAS Backup and in the middle of the page there will be an export button, click it. To make it easier don't set up a password and click "Exportar a un archivo" send this file to your other phone and store it in documents. Then click import, find the file and you'll be able to import it. That's the whole process! 😁

Did you create any cloud backup of your codes, or do you have another device that has the MC authenticator with your codes in it? If you don't have both, then there is nothing you can do by yourself. As we said in the video, you have to contact Microsoft and ask them to help you in this situation.

You can easily restore everything with a cloud or manual backup. For cloud you need to be connected to the same account on the new device and enable the cloud backup option. Everything will get restored. As for manual, you can export a file from your old phone and import it on your new one.
Within the app go to settings ---> 2FAS Backup and there you have the cloud sync. You can also create manual backup of your codes by exporting them to an external file and storing them in the place you deem safe.
It's on the top of the settings screen. When you open the app you're on Tokens, at the bottom of the screen there is a gear icon, click it and you'll go to settings. At the top you'll have 2FAS Backup.
We can't help you with that, unfortunately. We don't have power over your security. And us having access to your app would be precisely against what we stand for.

You can choose to get sent a code to your phone number connected to iCloud. You’ll be able to log in with it without a problem.

As Matt said, it's as safe as possible, + it secures you from losing access to the accounts when you lose your phone, reset it or uninstall the app.

You can do it manually via a file transfer. Export it from your device and import it on another. But yes it would overwrite the existing accounts.

If you have no way of restoring everything, then you should contact the support teams of the services you want to get access to. They can help you restore your account.

If you had turned the backup on your broken phone, then simply follow the steps from the video and turn it back on, on your new phone. If you didn't have it, then write to Facebook support and ask them to turn off 2 Factor-Authentication on your account.

If you haven't backed up anything, then, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do. We don't store your data for privacy reasons. You must write to the services you have 2FA enabled on and ask them to turn it off.

All you can do now is to try reaching out to every service and ask them to turn off 2FA on your account. And next time use 2FAS app with 2FAS backup options :)

Sounds perfect for me, I have used Google authenticator in the past, lost my phone and so lost my codes.
My question: If I turn on sync (with good Drive), then I lose my phone, and I turn on sync on the new device in the app (and log in with the SAME google Drive account), are the codes back? I have seen with a provider that the codes are tied to the phone number.
Are the codes tied to *only* the google drive account, or does the cell phone number matter? (If it's just the Google account, that would be perfect).
Yes, if you connect to the same google account all the codes will be back.

Login to the service, use you backup codes to complete your login and then turn off your 2FA and turn it back on. You'll get you new private key and new backup codes. Bravo for saving your backup codes!!!

Since Android and iOS phones use different backup systems that's google drive and iCloud, then the only thing you can do is contact the support teams of the app that you enabled 2FA on and ask them to turn it off.

This happened to me this morning I lost my discord account because it was hacked the hacker put on 2FA I lost everything I can’t get it back now I am so upset about it because I was in so many discord servers I didn’t really wanna make a new one but I had to and the discord support team are not really helping😢

@@2FAS I deleted everything on my phone, and when I logged into my Gmail account, they send a code to my phone that consists of 6 numbers. I enter 6 numbers, and when I log in, they send the code to the account that I lost.
You should probably contact official Google Auth support with the problem, because it's strictly related to their app and only they can help you.

If you only deleted it from the list, then it's safely stored in Settings --> Trash. You can restore it from there.
Don’t back up to iCloud or any cloud service for that matter. Employees of said companies could see your files. Back on paper or some other hardware
That is a valid worry. That's why there is an option to create a manual backup of the codes, and you'll be able to store this backup whenever you want and deem secure.
Not every site in usa has 3. Im locked out of six accounts and cant get in just because my number changed. Customer service is no help either.

Yes, if everything is connected correctly and you don't allow anyone to see the codes on your phone, it is as unhackable as possible.
I accidentally deleted my Facebook key on Google Authenticator app. I had previously turned off the option for SMS and email, and was only using the third party app for logging in. Now I am in a dread since I haven't been able to login to Facebook for the past two months. What do I do? Facebook wont respond to my complaints and I don't have login on my phone or any other device. I am stuck. Could you help please? Is there a way to recover my Facebook key on Google Authenticator?

The only option is to try to contact Facebook. Please consider using the 2FAS application instead of Google Authenticator. 2FAS has backup options and a trash bin for such situations.

That's why you should've use the 2FAS app with the Backup option on :) Now, all we can suggest you is to contact each service and ask them how can you get your accounts back without 2FA tokens.

If you'd like to synchronize iOS and Android via cloud, unfortunately, it's not possible as they use two different cloud systems. You can synchronize them manually by exporting a file from one device and importing it on the second one. This way, you'll have the same codes on both devices, with the caveat that you'll have to manually synchronize them every time you add a new code on one of the devices.

The manual export is not connected to Google or iCloud so the issue probably lies there. Go to Settings -> 2FAS Backup and in the middle of the page there will be an export button, click it. To make it easier don't set up a password and click "Exportar a un archivo" send this file to your other phone and store it in documents. Then click import, find the file and you'll be able to import it. That's the whole process! 😁

1 they will send notification on my phone to verify with yes and no ( but my phone is resetted)

Did you create any cloud backup of your codes, or do you have another device that has the MC authenticator with your codes in it? If you don't have both, then there is nothing you can do by yourself.
As we said in the video, you have to contact Microsoft and ask them to help you in this situation.

The first one was my big a acount is discord back then i was the admin of 7 discord servers and i have a lot of friends on them after when i broked i never cant log in anymore that discord acount and i lost 170-210 friends and 23 discord servers and 7 that i owned

You can easily restore everything with a cloud or manual backup. For cloud you need to be connected to the same account on the new device and enable the cloud backup option. Everything will get restored. As for manual, you can export a file from your old phone and import it on your new one.

Within the app go to settings ---> 2FAS Backup and there you have the cloud sync. You can also create manual backup of your codes by exporting them to an external file and storing them in the place you deem safe.

It's on the top of the settings screen. When you open the app you're on Tokens, at the bottom of the screen there is a gear icon, click it and you'll go to settings. At the top you'll have 2FAS Backup.

If you didn't do a backup of the codes and the service you lost access to doesn't cooperate with you, then there is nothing we can do, unfortunately. That's why having cloud backup is so important when it comes to 2FA apps.
