Greetings from Hangklip & Berties GB. Gerald your'e a Legend who plays from his DNA !!! Your interpretation of this gives me goosebumps & tears. You may like to cover Jeff Healey Band's Blue Jean Blues (in your way of course)
Sung with the quiet respect and deference this poem demands. BTW Billie Holliday was the original singer of this song..she released it in 1939. ......and I really love your work.
@@geraldclarkmusic no one asked you who write it.. normally when you cover a song, you mention the person who sang the song, not the writer (even though he was a good man from what I'm told) it was Billie holiday, whose single it was, and who made this song the legend that it is. therefore it should be mentioned that this is a Billie holiday cover, otherwise, this just looks like another extortion deal and way to ex us out of our culture.. but good thing the movie about our sister Billie holiday, put everything in perspective
Oh, they know exactly who sang and popularized the song, and whose single it was originally. It's basically a slap in the face to the black culture, which btw doesn't really mean anything to us because all these weirdos covering the song and not mentioning the great Billie Holiday, no one knows them anyway.. but they know.. it burns them to the core to mention the fact that they are COVERING A BLACK SONG. Because that's exactly what it is. Yes, someone else wrote it but it's Billie's Single.. so, don't be fooled by these guys singing songs like this..
Just brilliant updated cover, a new classic of an old classic
Gerald my favourite , you honour this blues lament dirge , great stuff my man....your third eye is opening up
thats just too good, awsome
