      Strange, I thought Behringer would be faster than my internal Realtek ALC892. With asio4all and 160 (input+output) samples, I had like 3.6ms. And I think it's slow for music I play. May be numbers are very inacurate. And on different audio interfaces will mean different physical latency. Anyway most of times I noticably feel that latency, especially when play somthing fast.
      ruclips.net/video/BvbAkjkaP2s/видео.html

    • @Burglecutter
      @Burglecutter Год назад +2

      @RazorW900 The problem is gonna be stuttering at that low of latency on your motherboar's sound card. The Behringer is going to maintain a lower latency as the track starts to take up more processing power. At that point, the onboard card will be skipping and stuttering like crazy while the Behringer/audio interface won't do that at the same level of processing power. The interface is definitely superior in that way. The interface may have some of its own on-board RAM or something.

    • @nicolasheinemusic
      @nicolasheinemusic 10 месяцев назад +3

      sure, you can have direct monitoring with close to zero latency with any soundcard. but you won't have 6ms of latency, if you put Autotune, EQ, Compressor and Saturation into the recording chain, that the singer hears on his headphones. Thats why the apollo is better.

    @3rdGen-Media Год назад +3

    Latency free is not a thing. The audio still has to go through conversion even if you are using the feature that maps an input channel directly to its corresponding integer output channel through firmware rather than driver. Any other routing using UAD console also sends the audio through the driver. This just means it doesn’t incur the additional latency from roundtripping the audio through a client app that subscribes to receive audio from said interface driver such as a DAW
    Both the audio samples that come into the driver and get routed to the DAW incur the device’s minimum input latency. When you are monitoring the audio samples from the driver before those samples get routed to DAW you are shaving off the additional output latency that comes from routing audio through a client app and back to the driver for processing

    Lately I have seen a lot of negative comments about uad Apollo. I think in some cases it’s a win, when you buy the interface “Mac user “ it comes with a fully functional recording system/ DAW and a few plugins that most of us would be buying either way… compressors and preamps, reverbs , Antares auto, depends if they are doing a promotion etc
    If you don’t own a DAW yet it’s a win. And I have tried Luna it’s good. Getting the twin is a good decision, if you need more mic pres then I would say look somewhere else.
    I must say it Feels good to punch in some vocals anytime within a session without the latency issues…

      On the Scarlett you will experience some latency. But you can adjust for latency in your DAW's preferences (check your DAW's manual or search YT for tutorials.

    I think you should be careful with saying that these interfaces have absolutely no latency and how you'll never have to adjust your buffer size, because that's not really true, is it? Sure, when you record directly into them - it works great, but then try that again with an average, NECESSARY buffer size of around 512, or 1024 samples, which is not uncommon once you're forced to go, say, beyond a setup of a single laptop plus one Apollo interface. Try having a 1500-track template in 4.1 surround, connected to a few VEPro slaves for film/tv gigs. Then your overall latency will still end up shot to sh*t, and you still need to compensate for the delay within your DAW, etc.
    TLDR; this near-zero latency works well, but only up to point. Once you start adding a few more bells and whistles or get into a bit more demanding setups you'll quickly see that this isn't going to be a silver bullit.
    Any future buyers should realize that, before they invest their hard-earned cash into an interface like this one. Because these things aren't cheap. Not to mention a pain in the *ss if you're on Windows.

    Hello. uad adds its own character to audio in all audio interfaces. While this feels good, it's definitely not a good option for music producers. If you try the apollo solo and apollo twin interfaces respectively, you will hear that the ins and outs of the solo are awful compared to the twin. universalaudio accepts this. because dacs are different. As a result, I use Apollo Twin in my vocal recordings. but while listening apogee duet 3.
