This is how I imagined the fight between Ryu and Ken would look like. Very balanced matchup with some problem solving, great counters and the perfect intimate fight setting.

It's interesting how in the beginning of Street Fighter Ken was the master of kicks and Ryu was the master of punching. Now it's a mixed bag, although their Critical Arts still reflect that.
This looked pretty even, and could have gone either way. Kenpi was given a gift at 7:13. Infiltration should have made Kenpi come to him, but he tried to be offensive despite having the life lead. He probably could have then stalled for a time out, or did a jumping Tatsumaki to get out of the corner. Either way, that “flub” ended up making it a 3 rounder, and Kenpi wrecked him there.
Yeah, sfv isnt much hype, specially after watching the MK11 reveal... but i sometimes have the feeling that this game will educate a new generation of players about the fundamentals of neutral game, baits, dash in dash out. etc etc. And i dont mean educate pro players, i mean the general public, the regular player.

Ryu is probably better than Ken at this point in SFV balance wise. But either way Ryu isn't supposed to be infinitely stronger than Ken. He is supposed to be even with Ken in the lore with Ken winning some fights, and also losing some fights. Also Ryu isn't really slower than Ken in this game other than Ken's Back + Medium punch. And like always Ryu's fireball game is much better than Ken's which is what Ryu excells at.

A good well-balanced fighting game should never have one character that's infinitely better than another
Capcom didn't want a crapload of players using mainly Ryu like the early-mid SFIV days...
