i had a tear in my eye with joy if i a time machine 88 was the dam year yes chuck they rock the track off the show with song on soul train oh my god take me back in time please hip hop was like motown they had white peopel scare.
I remember when they played Brixton in the 80's - the atmosphere outside & inside was like nothing before or since. Their presence & power is stunning. Truly - don't make them like this anymore! Cold medina man, cold medina!!
I remember hearing this song at the LQ in New York and losing my mind, never any shit like that before, to this day it still leaves me with chills. PE4EVER
Now this is music. I'm a metal fan myself, but through Anthrax I got into Public Enemy, and this sort of song cannot help but get me moving around the room. Modern hip-hop and rap is utter shite, especially compared to this skilled stuff.
Still in my top 100 greatest rap songs of all time. Chuck D deserves more recognition for his rawness and talent. Definitely consider him to be in the top 50 greatest rappers of all time.
Bought my front floor tickets for 16th June at the O2 indigo, bwooy. Chuck D's one of the very few MCs that will never have to prove it with freestyle, because he 'has' got the answers, Sway!
This blew me away when I was in my teens, I still love it in my 40's, and I'll still be rockin to this when I'm in my 80's down at the old folks' home.
@qwisp yeah that's weird eh? Like I already mentioned, the DJ is just fluffing over Terminators original Scratch part. They MUST have original raw bed tracks, non? When I saw them live in 1990, it was instrumental without the album cuts and Terminator did live Cuts.
why isn't norman (terminator) with them anymore? They keep his part integral, and that DJ is basically HAND syncing, but not scratching Terminators part! hahah
The privileges I speak of are white privilege. It is not the average freedoms of every American regardless of color but it is the privilege of entering a store and not being followed like a thief. It is the privilege of being able to get the job over other qualified people because I’m white. It is the privilege of being accepted and represented by politicians. Any person that has been naturalized or that was born here is an American but they will not necessarily have white privilege.
Guilt didn't manifest itself as contrition. He knew his privilege is a product of illicit gains but doesn't wish to right the wrongs of the past, manifesting his guilt by trying to eliminate the source of it & thus you have hate crimes. He lashed out because this guilt produced fear of the consequences of his nefarious actions. He may not be afraid of you but he is afraid of what a brown majority in the US can accomplish. In his eyes it’s not We the people but his people against everyone else.
@SamWolvesFc Dude they toured here either this year or last, I forget exactly when. I saw them for the third time in Kentish Town about six yeas ago. First saw them in Glasgow in '92 when I was fifteen. My and a mate skived school so we could get there in time (we lived in Perth at the time) My first ever gig and the best! Nothing and I mean nothing has beaten that experience and I've seen many from Rammstein to Eddie Vedder. They will be back in the UK - don't think, just go!
You're crazy. Most of these kats nobody remembers or don't want to. NWA is great but their original sound was a imitation of PE. Nations of Millions is the greatest album of all time. PE took beats to the next level and everybody wanted to copy. NWA made gangsta rap popular and everybody (record labels)wanted to copy, which introduced the decline of hip-hop.
And 1 bball shorts, cut comfy tee, new sweat bands, backwards lid, with fresh whites for the bball kicks, with fresh socks and a lil weight for a chain round the neck.....easy saturday night watching boxing or live hiphop show....atire for either or i suppose...Terminator X!!
@michalwasiak Depends what hip hop you are listening to mate, theres a shitload of great hip-hop bands worth checking out. Try the Stones Throw label, or Def Jux label. Underground Hip-Hop website is worth a look. Dont Give Up San
