    Sabalenka should watch how Halep congratulated Ostapenko at last year's RG final. And that was one of, if not the toughest loss to swallow, yet she still congratulated Ostapenko and gave her a honest genuine hug.

      I like all the tennis players for whom the tennis is not a war, it is a competition ! The respect and the fair-play must be included ! The opponent is not your ennemy and friendship can exist between them (Serena Williams and Caroline Wosniacki, Ana Ivanovici and Sorana Carstea, Simona Halep and Carla Suarez-Navarro, Simona Halep and Irina Begu, and so on) !

    Bravo Simona!y'all that comment bad bout halep: you should know that she just won the montreal tournament recently and then in cincinnatti she won match after match and they were all sheduled poorly and she had so less time for rest. Instead of commenting that she is not great, you should show some respect and support. You ppl are rude and lack of manners towards this player's work and dedication. True attitude,Halep! Hope you will win in the finals.

    Silly handshake but LOVE the game attitude of Sabalenka, she was there trowing the house furniture, the sink and everything in sight at Halep. Sabalenka is defently in the frame/category of players of: Serena, Muguruza and Osaka... big girls, HUGE strokes and serve, but also some finesse and sense of court meaning they are not only ball bashers, but the main thing they have in common is that they seem to love big stages and that they feel every match is in their raquet. As for Halep, she just keeps on building on the champion that she allways tought she should be, this match was one of control and discipline, she lets the flashy play and extra risk for her oponents, she is building that solid aura where the other girl on the court feels that she must do something extraspecial to beat her. Hopefully it lasts as she is an amazing player to watch and an outstanding example of resilience, and hopefully all this matches dont play against her at the usopen.

      Same thing goes for Dimitrov comparisions to Federer, but still, if you look at him, falls in the same category having a similar aproach to the game and similar physical gifts. Thats what i meant with Sabalenka who has a long way to go not only to reach Serenas Level but also Muguruzas and even Osaka whom i also compare her with. Yet, she is young and seemingly hungry and getting some great results this season.

    Simona's game was smart, she used Sabalenka's power against Sabalenka and it worked. She was tough mentally to resist as the opponent was more powerful (kind of a Serena but not that accurate). However this manish attitude of Sabalenka is rejecting and the handshake said it all. Simona's modesty during the game on the other hand is wonderful.

      In the UK, and many other places around the world, it would still be full - tennis fans come out to see good tennis. But in the US, I think, you really need an American to pull in the crowds - someone to support. Just my viewpoint

    • @brentpham1155

      Bruce Emond federer or nadal playing practically guarantees at least 50% of the stadium full on any given day.

    • @brucee6123
      @brucee6123 6 лет назад

      I am talking women today; not the men. Back in the day, Graf and Sabatini also were draws, and it depends on the area where the event is held. If you were at Hilton Head Island, with its tennis-loving and playing community, you still would have had crowds for a Maleeva vs Kohde-Kilsch back in the day; today, I don't think you will get crowds for Svitolina vs Kerber, for instance. But Kasatskina will bring people out because she has a different style of play.

      billy. was thinking in the same line. why this happening? is the american so lazy to turn to a tennis match? rather be couch potatoes all day? yikes... but me thinks organizers are at fault. i'd get students (free of charge ?!) to come and watch; get children involved in sports and change that (sit around) mentality.

    Nadal said it "tennis is a sport of errors".Great game, exciting to watch with plenty of good rallies but simona's tactic was clear hit heavy with spin if confronted with a forehand to take off some velocity and force aryna's backhand which resulted in loads of UE... that and her service game which i thought was the best she had in the tournament so far along with a good reading on the return.

      Potato God, such a trite comment. Don't bet baby, then you will lose a lot of money. I'm not even not even hiding myself behind a pic with potato ;) and don't exaggerate too much, we live in an era of mobile technology, we all have the internet and iphones. It's just a part of entertainment(social network) and I don't bring anyone down, hell no, let's start there. We are all tennis fans, but nobody is here commenting 24 hours non-stop, either you're a hater or fan, whatever. We all have life and things to do.
      So, probably you have a depression or something and appealing to yourself how sad your life is, coz look I'm not even thinking about what you said. You know there is a saying "the tongue ever turns to the ailing tooth", so think about it 😉
      I'm enjoying my life, I have an incredible life. I travel a lot and I meet so many new people, I do so many cool things:)
      It took me seconds to write a comment and then I'll be doing my things, so not a big deal.
      Just take it easy 😉

      Alex Meles You do have some serious problems my friend, Halep doesnt know that you even exist, stop wasting your life, if you have one, with such things. She is where she is just because of her hard work and her family, and she deservers everything she gets.

    • @aleshemel666
      @aleshemel666 6 лет назад

      Marius Andreescu first of all, good news for you! she doesn't know that you exist either, my friend😉 It must be so painful for a fan like you that she will never read your lovely supportive comments. Sorry about that.
      Second, I think she is a great tennis player and she deserved her titles fairly, she achieved a lot and I see why she is so inspirational for poor Romanians. I just don't like her attitude and behavior and that's it.
      If i had serious problems why would even you even reply to me then?🤣 you're wasting your life for me, baby, I appreciate that! And look 80% of my comments are not even about Halep. It looks like this, only because I have so many replies from crazy fans like you.
      I like Wozniacki a lot. I've seen so many bad comments about her, but I don't waste my time on defending her and saying "you have no life" to every person who hates her. Because, I'm gonna put myself not in a good position . Like... aren't you wasting your time on saying to me that I'm wasting my time? It's just bullshit. Secondly, I understand that people express their feelings and thoughts. Everyone has a right to love and to hate. It's okay. Again, in terms of achievements, I admit and admire Halep.
      I'm really done with explaining things to you guys. You can say and think about me whatever you want. Now, I sincerely don't want to waste my time on you. You can carry on giving me diagnoses, talking about me. Whatever, it's fine with me.

    I'm always thinking unless ur Nadal on Clay, winning big titles before slams is just not a good idea. I don't know if having success diminishes the players hunger somewhat or they get burntout but if you look at the slam winners this year, no player won a title prior to their slam victory. However, these two titles (Rogers Cup and Cincinnati) combined are almost the equilivant of winning a slam so if you can, why not. There is still a week after this tournament to rest and recover and if you're Simona Halep, and you hate losing, why not keep racking up the points and titles. It's great

    • @Summon256
      @Summon256 6 лет назад +1

      Same here! Nobody knows what will happe one year from now on (altough i do hope nothing bad will happen and Simona will maintain her high level up to that point at very least, but you never know with women's tennis these days..) So why not win everything now, when you are surely in top shape?! So what if Simona will have to defend gigantic portion of points next year in case she packs Rogers Cup, Cinci and USO all in one this year?! What matters is what's happening now and now she dominates, so why not use that momentum to keep winning more?! Why limit yourself to particular titles?!...

      I thought exactly the same. I usually don't comment the handshakes but that was really bad by Sabalenka. And I don't understand how people can say that Simona over-celebrated. She has just reached a very important final and Aryna is not an easy opponent, it's ok if she celebrates like that!

      Maddox Soles
      I'm sorry but did you even watch the match? The way she screamed after that ace that saved her from the first MP? Simona fist pumping was NOTHING compared to that. Simona celebrated her victory just like everyone else would have had in her shoes. Sabalenka was simply sour grapes on that one because she couldn't take the defeat like almost everyone else would normally. It's not like she lost to someone outside the top 100, she lost to the damn world number 1, have a little bit of respect. Just because she had a couple great wins going into the semifinal didn't all of the sudden make her the favorite in the match against Halep.
      That's not the attitude of a winner, that's the attitude of a sore loser. But she's only 20, she's still young and hopefully she'll learn in time.

    You can’t beat Halep by just hitting hard. If you’re going to be a ball basher, then you should copy how Serena, Venus, Lindsay, & Maria has done it. They have CONSISTENCY, ACCURACY, and POWER.
    Upon saying that, only Serena & Maria can match up with Halep’s speed with controlled aggression.

      treideca44 you can never count Serena & Maria out when they are up against Halep. Halep's shot has a bounce to it that Maria & Serena found to be very attackable (this is evident with Sharapova's win in the US Open last year & pushed Halep to 3 sets back in Rome - I remember at one point Halep said that she is "afraid to serve" which I didn't expect to hear from a World no. 1 while, Serena already made a Major final this year.
