Its been a while since i came across a true "RC" enthusiastic channel. I can see you getting people excited about RC'ing again. That tag-teamed with true unbiased testing shows the passion you have for the hobby.
Put on your PL KRAWLERS. Tires seem lacking. Not to argue but no In not overdriving for general driving. I’ve never had any vehicle see excess heat breakage etc. and I’m running in Arizona all times of the year. Every rig I have has a split in ring and pinion ratios. Brushed and brushless systems. Just even if only changing one axle it’s always worth it. Love your video test you answer ALOT of our questions while you eat the cost on the stuff!!
I have the jlu 10.3 and swapped to rock pirates shock towers, desert lizard 90mm shocks 75% droop, bowhouse 3gear adapter with 3gear trans, 3brc 2000kv Yellowjacket with the Zerogravity rc Silent Assassin esc, 2.2 wheels with 1.9 4.75 tusks, no interior and will crawl almost anything I come to. I will be adding brass up front and tgh mild overdrive portal gears. Awesome video and look forward to what becomes of the base camp.
I find that adding weights is just one of those upgrades that is more pronounced when combined with other upgrades, tires and overdrive being the obvious ones. Like any upgrade, depends on your setup and terrain. With the truck stood up during a steep climb, for example, that weight can work against you as it seems to hit that tipover point more easily and she wants to go over. Still, one of the first mods I make with any build 👍 Thanks for the video.
May be a small difference with the portal covers and weights only, but with some other upgrades like maybe tires, foams or any of.the other optional upgrades or mods it will make more of a difference, sometimes it's a few mods together that makes them all perform to the max potential....you never know till you try....but great test, great vid!!!
Surprised the tusks aren't performing better than that. I have a set on an Element and they are wicked. But they are on a 9 lb truck and most of the weight is at axle level. Slap a set of Beeftubes on that thing, they've really helped the cg on my Gatekeeper.
I use similar brass weights on my TRX-4, Capra, and SCX10-III and have experienced increased sure-footedness with each RC. Especially the SCX10 III with its detailed body and interior the brass weight's LOWERING of center gravity the rig's stability has much improved.
Will these work with the Axial UTB 1/18th scale as well? I just received the 52G portal covers but unsure if they'll fit the 1/18 as it says UTB/SCXIII compatible also...
Those tires dont seem very good imo. Didnt do well on ramp or on rocks. My basecamp will crawl almost everything easily with brass and krawler ka. Just an observation, could be wrong bout those tusks.

I just bought these for my capra, using the same as you on the front plus the Treal knuckles and just the Treal covers on the rear.

Yeah no od is efficient. Lots of od is comp only. I might try some od on this just to see but it most likely won’t stay
Rare footage of exo using parts that aren't vitavon
Good video, its nice to see if mods work and how well they work. It would be nice to see the weight bias, before/after the mods.
My buddy did those wright's and 80mm shocks. Changed the whole way to truck performed. I feel that all portal axles rigs need 80mm shocks.

Nice test Joe, brass seems to have helped a bit. 👌

Hi mate when in competition every little bit counts.

Yaaasssss
Do brass just front 🤔?
👍😁1!!!
The blank windows and paint job make it to ugly to get traction .
It needs the vitavon treatment!
So you left the spacer out, correct?
