Retinol at night (the sun can burn your skin with it on) and vitamin C in the morning. I associate it with sunshine. Strip your dead skin/dirt on your face with face wash first and always do sunscreen last in the morning and moisturizer last at night to lock all the nutrients in. Learned all of this from my esthetician btw.
Glycolic acid I just learned about too and have always avoided it because it seemed complicated. I'm assuming it's like a mask that you do a few times per week. But I would do your own research.

I HATE glycolic acid, it BURNED my skin and caused me horrible hyperpigmentation patches on the sides of my face. So now I'm on a battle dealing with that since last 8 months and it's a slow painful journey 😢

i’ve also been told that lactic acid is hydrating. i know theyre both AHAs and have been told lactic can be more gentle because of its molecule size, but does it promote hydration in the same fashion as glycolic?

It's a holy grail fo sho love GA! But u can also do like Scarlett Johansson (and myself) and use raw apple cider vinegar, 1.25$ at dollar tree btw, all natural AHA, only use 2-3x a week n dilute, my skin has nvr glowed like it does after my acv facial 👌👍👍👌✨

Skin of color here! Unfortunately as much as I’d love to like it, Glycolic Acid breaks me out. Tried multiple different brands too (Loreal, Cerave, Good Molecules to name a few) but bc their molecular weight is the smalles compared to all AHA, it burns my face even only used once a week 😢

I did a series of peels, glycolic 30%, 1 a week for 6 weeks... Afterwards, LED light... And, it transformed my skin. I was super textured, and dry as well. It really helped to smooth things out, plump things up, hydrate and just the overall tone of my skin improved. How do you feel about doing a series like that, one a week for 6 weeks? Of course with proper aftercare.

I think you’re supposed to use a moisturizer after anything that is going to dry it out. I use tretinoin and moisturize before and after.
