I think fati is now in a downward trend and he will have to grow and mature mentally, physically, just like vinicius did last season, that Transition from one of the best young talents in the world to being a young adult who is not afraid to take on responsibilities and having the confidence to do so, that is the hardest part. Let's hope fati makes that transition and recovers mentally from all his traumas because of injuries.
Much more akin to Marco Acensio in terms of talent & the injuries they suffered at relative ages. Like they were both touted to be the next GOAT & just had brutal career-ending injuries at 18/19
When we saw players getting injured and coming back from there it didn't seem like a big deal, but when we think about it it's still surgery. I myself fortunately have never had any surgery in my life whereas these footballers have had a lot of it in their careers even since they were young.
This video made me sad. If only injuries were there to sideline a player a few days but did not have an impact to affect their later performances 😟. Young prodigies not reaching their full potentials is so terrible!
Remember when he first broke in to the scene, a huge talent and sparkle he had, injuries are crucial to a player’s form and motivation, a few can overcame that and become their older selves, hope it happens to Ansu
To be quite honest, I don't really like these kinds of videos when discussing players who are in their late teens early 20s. Like I remember media outlets calling ødegaard a flop and wondering "what happened to him" when he was like 19 or 20 and now he's tearing premier defences to shreds with his passing and vision. Ansu Fati still has plenty of time left in his career and I'm sure he will revive it, he has the talent and seems like a good kid devoted to his craft. I just think it's a bit soon to talk about him being a footballing disappointment when his career is still kind of in the process of getting going.
I take it as what happened as in literally what has happened to him personally. Which at this point struggling for match fitness and confidence as Barca have seemingly moved away from him as a starter.
Different situations. Ødegaard was a massively hyped 16 year old that just wasn’t ready yet. Fati was 16 year old that was ready, but the injuries ruined that and tifo made this video showing what happened.
@@D10995 confidence is massive in football and he'll have barely any with all the injuries and the fact he's a squad player. You'd be surprised what someone can do out there when confident. A move might be good for him even a loan

My heart honestly goes out to players that suffer with issues like this. As someone who suffers the same kind of thing by having their shoulder come out a lot, be it through my Epileptic seizures, constantly having to spend a large amount of time out of the sport you love or something that makes you happy can absolutely destroy you mentally. Furthermore, myself and Ansu Fati both share the same thing (which was listed in this video) and thats having no confidence in the constantly injured area. Constantly scared of doing anything that will ruin it again leaving us out on the sidelines again. I've not played football in years because of my issue and i doubt I'll be able to again until I'm told everything's ok, same with the gym. How Ansu Fati keeps picking himself up from this though is inspirational 🙏👏 Sorry for the long message guys.
I am a big fan of his ever since his debut for Barcelona. He was born 5 days after I, and thus I have even more of a sympathy towards him. I hope he can become a great player that he was destined to become, maybe not as a winger, but as a striker, he reminds me of Samuel Eto'o a little, that could be the new role for him, once he regains his confidence, even if he can't dribble as well as he once did, I think he has not forgotten how to score goals.
He seems he is finally healthy, and now all he has to do is to start trusting in his body. It's all in his head, but that's hardest part of recovery. He doesn't play a lot because Xavi don't want to risk another injury. but he is the only one who played in every game. We waited 5 years for Dembele to start playing as one the best wingers in the world, I think we can wait few more months for Fati to regain his confidence and become player we all know he can be.
He's so young and under a lot of pressure due to all the talk that has been going on about his potential, and his unfortunate injuries. A lot of it came from the situation the club was/is in due to the fatal management of their whole business in recent history, so they thought they could get away with handling him in ways you simply can't and shouldn't handle teenagers, especially on a world stage like this. They really pushed him so close to crashing his career it's gut-wrenching. He needs the big boys in the squad like Lewandowski, Busquets, Jordi Alba as well as Xavi and the staff to sincerely stand up for him now and show him a path forward, just like Ronaldinho did for Messi. After hyping him they way they did, the biggest mistake the club could make would be loaning him out for so-called experience. Patience, the right dosage of playing time and especially good quality communication are really the key. I feel Xavi has been keeping an eye on this. And if it takes another year, who cares. They're still in the middle of their re-build anyways, and a prime Ansu would only make them even better in the long run.
He's only 20 and this is his first season without injuries. He's scored 6 goals so far being mostly a substitute player. Let's not bury him just yet, let's wait till the end of the season to see his performance and I'd say give him yet another one to show what he can do. If he stays injury free I'm sure he'll be fine, he's not gonna be a world class top player like Messi but I don't think he's the next Bojan Krkic or Munir either, perhaps something in between like Pedro Rodríguez. Not every player from La Masia is gonna be a megastar, but not being a megastar doesn't mean you can't be a good useful player.
@@ndgnatoo6677 didn’t say he will end up having a bad career but I think the player that could’ve been if it wasn’t for injuries is out of reach now unfortunately.
I remember when he started he was better than Vinicius who was just a dribbler & sprinter. Ansu also started getting famous a season or 2 earlier than Foden, Bellingham, Musiala etc. Broke records for youngest goalscorer in UCL, for Spain, in Classicos, in La Liga... and was destined for greatness... But now 😔 Edit: Can't forget his performance in the first Liga classico of the 20/21 season. Aged 17 could have got a goal and 2 assists if Messi & Coutinho didn't miss easy chances.
His confidence shattered, he plays cautiously and sometimes can't even control the ball like his mind isn't there at all those surgeries really traumatized him, i see some people saying he's done for and will never be the same and some already want him out of the club. He's not the only one lacking confidence in the team though, Ferran Torres as well he makes the current shaky version of Fati looks like Maradona in comparison, that guy needs a therapy.
Happens too often with young players across multiple sports these days. Pushed too hard, expected to get immediate surgery and bounce back, then injured again. And the cycle continues.
This section/department of tifo football is my favorite, these videos make me glued to my phone screen for the entirety of the whole video, brilliant stuff
I still believe he has it all in him. Just a matter of time and building up his confidence levels. To this day, he still shows moments of brilliance, and actually does score quite a bit, his minutes considered. Maybe it's a Rashford situation where he just need time and minutes, and eventually he will bounce back to his former self.
Every time I see him receive the ball now, I know he will just pass it back and play passively. Before the injuries he used to be aggressively and runs towards defenders, dribbles, shoots take chances
When Fati first arrived on the scene, I had a nagging feeling that something would start dousing his career. Unfortunately, it looks like the feeling is right
All he needs is to regain that creative spark he once had, a move away from barca to a club where he can play as a starting eleven might be best for him.
Knee injuries are dangerous and can wreck one's career. I've had one, and although I'm not a professional player, I've not been the same since sustaining that injury. I hope he recovers fully.
I didn't even need surgery on my knee when I got hurt once in 7th grade but it still gets uncomfortable from time to time, I almost feel like my grandpa even though I'm barely out of my teens
@@andreitv9921 Look at kneesovertoes guy here on youtube, thousands have fixed and improved their knees with his physiotherapy exercises to make knees stronger and backed by science and many people. You can fix it and make your knees stronger!
He is still doing ok. His performances have not been good but he has that moment of magic in him. Has 10 g/a this season which is alright but we need to take it slow. Injuries have not been kind to him. He doesnt have that 6th sense, before no matter where he was he would find a way and bam goal now he has very little confidence but he produces those moments like against betis or sociedad earlier this year. I believe in him, he just needs time and needs to be slowly worked back into the starting role
Injuries are included in player definition. Many players who had great potentials wasted majority of their career in the sidelines. Ansu Fati is a nice player and as stated in the video, majority of his struggles on the pitch recently may be more of a psychological itch for him. In a club like Barca, you are expected to deliver as soon as you step unto the pitch, regardless of your prior condition. It's sad to hear opinions on a possible transfer for a boy who was highly rated as Messi's replacement. The Argentinean himself struggled with injury at a young age and did bounce back. I'm hoping so from Ansu too. Thank you Tifo football. I'm a big fan of your contents.
Only comparable situations I can think of is the story of Hudson odoi. Lost his burst, scared to take his man on etc. was very bright especially in the u17 World Cup a few years back
So unlucky. He broke the record of youngest player to debut for England at the time and debuted for Chelsea way before James, mount etc. The sad thing about Odoi is we never actually really got to see enough of what he was capable of before injury at senior level so many don’t really appreciate how good he was before injury.
I know he will rediscover his form He just need to build his confidence and more playing time and it could take him less than a season to get there Besides he is only 20 We were once saying the same thing about dembele if I recalled
I'm not a Barca fan, but I really want the kid get back to his former self. What a gem he could've been alongside Pedri, Gavi, Musiala, Vini Jr & Bellingham.
Ansu can still make a comeback, but he needs to get his confidence back. All of the injuries have destroyed his self confidence, which is why he is unable to do the things he used to do with ease. When that confidence comes back, the touch, agility, poise, lethality in front of goal will comeback. He needs time.
My POV as a Barca fan is he (Ansu) has had a series of injuries and it has hampered his development cuz he wasn't able to play consistently but he's still only 20 years old and has a crazy potential. It reminds me of the Dembouz situation or even the Dybala situation cuz both those players when they're healthy they are game changers but when they are injured it ruins their form and affects their seasons.
As a Galatasaray but first Football fan it makes me sad see this Video. He is young. I saw Cristiano and Messi playing before they were 18. Ansu was like them when they where 16. So give him some time. I'm sure he will be the best player for a few years atleast! He will play 10-12 Years on top level minimum, you will see.
It’s true that we sacrifice him at striker when lewa can’t played where he can’t play to his strengths , but even his finishing is off when he get subbed on as a winger. If he can recover, he’ll be a huge help for our attack
It’s a brutal injury to come back from.. similar injuries (in the knee) but was ACL (bit simpler to operate on) in both legs/knees 2years apart but operated on in a 3 year period - 23 - 28 with barely any contact sport.. it sucks hope he gets back to his best.. lots of rehab and physical jobs and treadmill running and I played best of my life after that but it sucks so much time
Reminds me of Pietro Pellegri who was a promising youth player, got injured then fell off completely, then Monaco said that they have to be more careful with managing their youth players.
The way this video is you’d think he was 26/27….HE’S 20! Not turning 21 until the start of next season lol…Barca would be absolutely INSANE to try and sell him and not one of their other forwards. I think Xavi is being ultra conservative with him simply because of the injuries and resulting low confidence from not playing. This kid is a talent and it’s still there. All he need is TIME!
Injury.... one of the greatest enemies of talented players. Allegedly Barca has some degree of culpability with those double instead of single sessions when he was recovering from one of his many surgeries....hopefully he recovers psychologically and physically.
Retire the number, it's cursed. If you're not GOAT level, the Barca number 10 will betray you. This is not fair to the young players of Barcelona. The pressure of wearing this number is far too great, that is the curse that comes with it.
Now we can understand why Messi and Ronaldo remained o. Top for sooo many years. It's because they worked extremely hard to not get injured. It's difficult to sustain that level for so long but messi and ronaldo did it with ease...
You can’t work extremely hard not to get injured, Ronald is free kick declined big time after his injury, they worked extremely hard to adapt, and not everyone is built the same or get injured the same, it’s bit of luck, hard work to adapt and just talent and hard work
Barca destroyed him. They gave him the nr 10 when Messi left. It just shows, the club put way too much pressure on him to become the next big thing in football
It is worth noting that since Xavi took over there has been a huge overhaul of the clubs medical department and the number of players getting injured while playing for Barca has reduced compared to before. That’s likely why Dembele has managed to have a decent spell without injury (until very recently) Ansu’s troubles whilst recovering which led to Reinjury were likely due to poor medical treatment that prioritized rushing him back rather than allowing his body the opportunity to fully heal. Neither valverde or koeman were good about eating injured players back. That’s probably why Dembele kept getting injured. For Ansu right now the club is getting him back on the field but without overloading him and without placing too much pressure on his shoulders. Before we can expect Ansu to get back to his phenomenal goal scoring form pre injury he must first regain his match fitness and sharpness and prove he’s t robust enough to play without getting injured again. It’s essentially building him back up rather than throwing him in the deep end after an extensive injury lay off.
Had the same surgery, along with other stuff destroyed in my knee. Next morning waking up from the general anesthetic/narcose, and in great mood, I met the surgeon with his several colleagues (extremelly unusual), who wanted to show me photos taken during the surgery, that showed, that my joints were half the age of me, at most, and that I were a freak of longevity, I suppose (which I already knew since long, looking like a well developed teenager, while being well over 30)... I was expecting the rehabilitation to be very fast, like with every injury I´ve had, that never left any scars or complains... What I want to say is, that althought I´ve never had such problems, and never expected to have any, the knee-surgery-rehab was still a months-long-challenge, which surprized me! I honestly considered myself "unbreakable", but I was taught, that there´s limits of what even the fastest-healing organism can afford. My motorbike- and construction-site-accidents were worse than of Fati (I had 3 different operations in my knee, all 3 done in a single session), but I cannot even imagine surviving a single Barcelona-training-session, not even in my long past, best and most fit years (I see construction work as having peaks of extreme difficulty, but in genereal, much easier than what proffesional football is)... To me, the treatment of Fati concerning the initial training after surgery, was criminal, something for which, in a normal situation (another country maybe?), many people would have landed behind bars.
The problem with a meniscus injury is that it not only has a the function of keeping teh knee stable, but also it has stretch sensors that help in coordination of movements. This cant be restored if the meniscus is replaced. This may cause an athlete to become more suceptible to other injuries because the coordination is not as good as it was.
it's gott to be a psychological thing, after going through so many injuries in such a short time, you're trying to not get injured again, so he's avoiding the explosive movement. inshallah we see the same ansu from pre-injury again
I feel another player hard done by being compared to Messi too soon. Despite the injuries, I feel the overarching reason why he was put in these circumstance at such a young age is because the shadow cast by Messi. Messi at 19 was already considered one of the best in the world. The pressure to fill his shoes especially when he left became Fati's burden. The pressure to play every game, to perform, and to become the next Messi is such a huge pressure for any young player. The fact that he was overtrained in his recovery instead of giving him the time a young player needs to heal from a bad injury reflects how much much pressure was on him to be fully fit.
Messi’s injury against PSG in his prime and the quick return changed Messi. He still put up numbers but he was a different player after that, it happens.
Crazy how nowadays people talk about a 20 year old who plays one of the biggest clubs in the world like his career went downhill or like he's finished...

I remember pep said in an interview, every players career will never be in an upward trajectory if you put it on a graph, it goes up and peaks and comes down and then after 1 or 2 seasons it goes up again and remains at his peak potential for the reminder of the career.
Like they were both touted to be the next GOAT & just had brutal career-ending injuries at 18/19
This guy needs someone like ten hag as coach he'll be goat level if that beast come back
When we saw players getting injured and coming back from there it didn't seem like a big deal, but when we think about it it's still surgery. I myself fortunately have never had any surgery in my life whereas these footballers have had a lot of it in their careers even since they were young.
Barca fan or not you gotta feel for the player for everything he has gone through. Hope he gets things on track.
I just think it's a bit soon to talk about him being a footballing disappointment when his career is still kind of in the process of getting going.
tito need to eat too
I take it as what happened as in literally what has happened to him personally.
@@LordWay true
At the moment he looks short of confidence, almost like he's afraid to get injured again. His touch and decision making is what he lacks the most at the moment, once he regains this I think he'll be back to his best. Hopefully he scores today ✌
I’m not giving up on him just yet, he’s only 20 and has lots of time but his decline has been quite immense since his injury. Hopefully he gets back to his best
If he gets confidence and Consistency he will return back to form
I really have high hopes for him.
I've been asking the same question honestly
It's sad not seeing him play
He is playing but doesn't make an impact

As someone suffering from a similar injury as him, I feel his pain. It really sucks. Imagine not being able to do what you love the most... and not just do it but not be able to do it as well as you once did. Get well soon Ansu.

Yes I get that his knee feels sore, do you think I really care?? lmbeciIe.
He has so much talent still, he reminds me a lot of Eto'o, i was devistated when he had that injury, i hope he somehow gets on the right track again.
How Ansu Fati keeps picking himself up from this though is inspirational 🙏👏
Sorry for the long message guys.
Its fine hope both you and ansu can succeed
Good luck man
I am a big fan of his ever since his debut for Barcelona.
As barca fan I love the talent ansu fati i hope everything worked out in good way
Can't believe we've already gotten a "what happened to Fati" video
He should change his club
Another player to add to the list of ‘if it wasn’t for injuries’
He’s 20
@@ndgnatoo6677 didn’t say he will end up having a bad career but I think the player that could’ve been if it wasn’t for injuries is out of reach now unfortunately.
@@ndgnatoo6677 Vinicius at 20 was one of the world's best players. Fati at 20 is a flop.
But now 😔
Edit: Can't forget his performance in the first Liga classico of the 20/21 season.
I laughed out loud at this comparison with Ferran lolol
He looked hopeless at the WC, I just felt for him. Still only 20 he can come back!
Unfortunately, it looks like the feeling is right
Ok pablo.
Ok lebron
All he needs is to regain that creative spark he once had, a move away from barca to a club where he can play as a starting eleven might be best for him.
Once his confidence is back and he’s fully fit, he should be back to his best.
And now he’ll be a Brighton player. We’ll take care of your boy Barça, and get him back to his peak. 💙🤍
I am so excited for this season, who knows where we’ll be this time next year. UTA!
Even though he won’t ever reach his top potential, I hope he can carve out a good career at good clubs, didn’t deserve this
Only comparable situations I can think of is the story of Hudson odoi.
That's so unfortunate, I remember watching his beginnings, he seemed to have such a great future... yet another great player ruined by injuries
I know he will rediscover his form
He just need to build his confidence and more playing time and it could take him less than a season to get there
Besides he is only 20
We were once saying the same thing about dembele if I recalled
I'm not a Barca fan, but I really want the kid get back to his former self. What a gem he could've been alongside Pedri, Gavi, Musiala, Vini Jr & Bellingham.
Now is the time that i start a FIFA career mode and make Fati the next GOAT
Don't worry, this lad will come back stronger . Just have the faith in him , he won't disappoint us cules 💙❤️
Ansu can still make a comeback, but he needs to get his confidence back. All of the injuries have destroyed his self confidence, which is why he is unable to do the things he used to do with ease. When that confidence comes back, the touch, agility, poise, lethality in front of goal will comeback. He needs time.
The key is playing some of most matches between now and summer… getting the confidence back
My POV as a Barca fan is he (Ansu) has had a series of injuries and it has hampered his development cuz he wasn't able to play consistently but he's still only 20 years old and has a crazy potential. It reminds me of the Dembouz situation or even the Dybala situation cuz both those players when they're healthy they are game changers but when they are injured it ruins their form and affects their seasons.
I dont see that much of talent loss tbh. He performs pretty well currently and i still see great potential in him.
As a madrid fan, I love how technical this youngster was. Very unfortunate.
Sometimes you have to put yourself first and take your time recovering. The club doesn't always have your best interests at heart
I will always believe in him. Time will surely tell I won’t doubt him for a second ✍️
Injury.... one of the greatest enemies of talented players.
Allegedly Barca has some degree of culpability with those double instead of single sessions when he was recovering from one of his many surgeries....hopefully he recovers psychologically and physically.
even for me as real madrid fans its hard seeing young talent getting injured like fati, i just hope madrid get it right with endrick.
Ansu Fatigue
Retire the number, it's cursed. If you're not GOAT level, the Barca number 10 will betray you. This is not fair to the young players of Barcelona. The pressure of wearing this number is far too great, that is the curse that comes with it.
😂
Brutal to see such an incredible talent suffer massively due to injury.
Very sad to see such a talent halted by injuries. Let’s hope Warren Zaire Emery does not get overburdened with matches.
He’s still growing. He’s having growing pains let’s not rush his development.
I wish him all the best and hope he will come back to his old self. great guy

I also look at the pressures he is facing by wearing the number 10 jersey for Barcelona
This reminds me of Jack Wilshere. So much promise from a young prodigy only to be ruined by chronic injuries.
Koeman even build his Barca squad around Fati as pillar before during his reign, sad to see this promising talent become injury prone man ngl
Stay strong Fati. I know you will bounce back 💪💪💪
What a pity... cause he looked like he was gonna be a world class striker... hopefully he can get back to his level before the injuries

This is Ansu Fati and I’ll be fine. ❤❤
he is still solid just coming back from an injury calm down
As a Barca fan I’m rooting for him! Although I don’t think he’ll ever become what everyone wants him to become
it's gott to be a psychological thing, after going through so many injuries in such a short time, you're trying to not get injured again, so he's avoiding the explosive movement. inshallah we see the same ansu from pre-injury again
The fact that he was overtrained in his recovery instead of giving him the time a young player needs to heal from a bad injury reflects how much much pressure was on him to be fully fit.
gona be the next young talent plagued by injuries
This just shows why talents like Messi and Ronaldo are very appreciated, these guys hardly ever got injured
Messi’s injury against PSG in his prime and the quick return changed Messi. He still put up numbers but he was a different player after that, it happens.
