The hardest work is the ceiling work. Looking up all day is a neck breaker so I hope you ground guys alternate with him. We always used a bazooka and all the AMES TAPING TOOLS, which has been around for at least 70 years or so. We also always let the tape dry for 24 hours and used a 7” box to fill, a 10” mud box to finish, and a 12” to skim it perfectly smooth and flat. We ran a roller and glazer in the angles for perfectly square angles and boxed them with a 3” Angle head. The AMES tools have the same specs they have had for many decades, because they are damn near perfect they way they are. You guy do a great job, and clean work is key to speed. A sloppy guy going balls out can screw up a ton of great drywall hanging, creating a ton of unnecessary wasted labor. Great job!

I'm just a DIY, but I tape like this with a tape box also. The real key, which you mention is to use a setting mud for the bed and first cover coat. Doing it this way, you can be completely done in one day with all the taping, dry overnight for the top coat which can be all purpose or easy sand setting and then sand the next day. If done correctly, there is very little sanding at all. For sure it helps to have at least two people with one person on the tape box and then the other behind, but you can do it one person, but a lot harder, especially with setting compound. I spent one summer sanding drywall for a commercial outfit (neighbor owned). You really come to appreciate not over filling in a major way, especially if you have to be sanding above your head on 9-12' walls when it is 90+ F.

Ya, the bazooka is difficult to learn, but with persistence you will be very happy with the amount of board you can tape in a short amount of time! I've been running the "tube" (bazooka) for 20 years and still remember learning! Make yourself keep trying! You want to learn to adjust the tape feed and cutting blade. Also the consistency of the mud is the most important thing to getting the bazooka to run right! The amount of water you need to mix in the taping mud is almost a litre or quart here in Pennsylvania! At least with the mud we use here. The green lid, all purpose sheetrock is my preferred taping compound, but any all purpose should work. Don't use any kind of light weight because of the bonding ability and time of staying wet needs to be long as possible.

Look up drywall finishing bazooka, will change your life and make what your doing a 2 man max job (in Canada that would be a 1 man job with a bazooka). Another tip, use a fast set mix for your pre-fill, it will shrink less. Now that youve done that, look up drywall finishing boxes and a mud pump....."BOOM" you have just reached the 21 century in wall finishing....
Worked behind many..MANY drywall guys.. been on a few drywall crews..in the trade for around 30yrs...I don't see this type of quality..much less speed..can tell you like what you do..GOOD JOB FELLAS...I don't impress easily
Cornice was always amazing to me. I’m from the states and I worked as a tradie in AU for a year. It’s basically crown moulding made out of gyprock that they install with stickier joint compound. Freaking genius.
I have so much respect for these guys.. their skill is absolutely insane.. I am pretty capable in most Reno jobs, except muddying, tiling and roofing..
Id like to see these guys on a old house. As far as getting them sheets that tight. Bad ass with new builds though. Untouchable as far as im concerned.
Hey mate I use the same tape box but there’s been a lot of mud dripping from the head when I do horizontal joints, the gauge is a good consistency, I’ve played around with thick, running and medium body mud mixes and also played around withthe mud adjustment but no matter what it still spews out on the wall, any suggestions?
Honestly not sure why, sometimes when you don't have it open enough (too little mud on the tapes) it leaks or if the mix is too wet. We don't usually get any leaking
The mud flows between the adjuster flap and the underside of the lid which causes the drips. Fill between the adjuster flap and underside of the lid with cornice cement. The adjustment of the flap isn't necessary, set it half way and lock it in for good.
well..some worker here in Quebec should watch this video,no waste of time here and clean job.just got flood on basement and i wish i could find a team like yours
I think it took me 3 months to drywall the first floor in my house by myself.. I paid for a crew to tape cause that woulda probably taken me 3 more. I cant believe how easy they make it look. This is the kinda thing that the harder you try to make it nice, the worse it comes out.
This is a definitely different style of finishing I never seen anybody run a 6-in for a first coat we usually do a 10 for a first coat 12 for second and skim for third I guess there's many different ways to do this but this one is new to me
Kieran Horkan this is unit two of taping not one. Unit one was placed nicely for me on-top of two buckets. Unit two was just wherever we could forgot the bring something over to sit it on that's all no stress I can pick up screw drivers off the floor with my hands. Great video been drywall for 32 years good stuff guys we need a crew like you all in Alys Beach Florida! These drywall companies down here just care about the money not the quality its a shame. Keep on doing what your doing.
Thanks , I'm sure the boys would like a trip to Florida.
I remember years ago when I started this craft where I would have more of the mud on my clothes than the wall 🤣
Lol Facts 😆
70% of mud goes on the walls, 20% on my clothes & 10% on the floor at the bottom of a vertical seams.
Absolute quality workmanship you should be proud of your crew.
Love watching skilled drywall guys working. Great job.
i do general contracting so my job usually involves the whole process, demo to finishing touches. i like to think im "okay" at drywalling but watching a master do his craft is very satisfying and i realize how much more i need to learn, you guys would laugh at me lol. or teach me, you dudes seem nice to work with
yeah, same here! Thanks for watching
I don't have any need to learn drywall but i watched the whole video. A testament to your crews skill
Great team work. Everyone is working as one unit. I bet their production is great.
Mass respect to your trade. I tried to do this and it about killed me. Of course, it gets easier with experience. You guys rock!
Speed and efficiency aside, I'm also impressed with their neatness. As a flooring installer for 44 years, I've had my fill of cleaning up after messy drywall companies!
I'm learning more from watching these guys than my foreman
You got a shitty Forman then brother. I teach my guys everything they wanna learn. Fast and quality.
Your foreman is probably afraid one day you'll replace him.
Fr I’m about to go buy a pair of those stilts 😂
FACT
When ever I hear fast I think garbage 🗑 work
Very great team work, i like the way the tapping guy switches back n forth b/w ceiling and walls so none of the orange guys needs to wait
I wish I had more people around me my age so we could rock out a bunch or jobs but you guys do a great job you make that trowl look way to easy lol props!! Love the video ill definitely watch more
Man, you gotta love teamwork! Everyone aware of where the other guys are. If I'm not mistaking, these guys walked out of the construction site before the mud was even dry!
this is result of hard working and experience ,can’t get this skills in a month. Good job guys 👌
Dang... I just finished drywalling a small place by myself and am left mouth agape watching this... absolutely incredible
Whoever layed that street rock is the man dude, made it eaaaasy for yall!
Look up drywall finishing bazooka, will change your life and make what your doing a 2 man max job (in Canada that would be a 1 man job with a bazooka).
Another tip, use a fast set mix for your pre-fill, it will shrink less.
Now that youve done that, look up drywall finishing boxes and a mud pump....."BOOM"
you have just reached the 21 century in wall finishing....
I can't believe you guys aren't using a bazooka and a pump way faster
C XS no
Sometimes they do, watch some of their other videos.
Faster than being done in 30 minutes?
they’ll be done by the time you clean your bazooka and pump lol
I've been in the game since 2005 and this is the best crew I've seen, well done lads.
works as a electrician my self...somehow i find this awesome to watch
Where is all the electrical in that space? I don't see any switches or outlets roughed in...
Worked behind many..MANY drywall guys.. been on a few drywall crews..in the trade for around 30yrs...I don't see this type of quality..much less speed..can tell you like what you do..GOOD JOB FELLAS...I don't impress easily
Right on, thanks for saying.. please subscribe to the channel
A four man crew of good journeymen can do a scary amount taping in a short time.
They’ll do the entire apartment compound in a week 🤣
@@Frankie431 that's Mexicans in America, white boys got nothing on them
Always that one idiot that likes to bring up race for no reason lol
@RuleofVicus stop hiring shitty crews then? Mexicans are the best there's really no question about it.
@@rtreyk but they never pick up their trash 🗑
If you are looking for an instructional video, keep looking. These guys are just showing off!
I don't think it gets more pro than this. Huge respect to this crew.
This is pure professional. Your team is good at the job.
Hey boy's, nice job! Canadian drywall finisher of 18 years here!
Hey mate. Thanks for tuning in.
Cheers 🙏🏼
"Take off eh"
@@u.s.paratroops4633 don't forget the comma, eh!
@@ceeqeur hoser...
No matter how good you think you are there always someone better. Great job guys. I'm impressed
Cornice was always amazing to me. I’m from the states and I worked as a tradie in AU for a year. It’s basically crown moulding made out of gyprock that they install with stickier joint compound. Freaking genius.
Yeah it works a treat and is really strong, easy to install easy to finish
It’s the hole in the ozone that makes us Aussies so clever😉..... but seriously, are our cornices different from the rest of the world???
I have so much respect for these guys.. their skill is absolutely insane.. I am pretty capable in most Reno jobs, except muddying, tiling and roofing..
Watching these videos remind me how bad I suck at mudding LOL..
Now, this is a good crew. Very professional and very neat.
WTH, what are the dimensions of the drywall? looks like 4 x 25 ft? things would go much smoother with the remodeling of my 12 x 25 room.
6m length (just under 20ft)
6M x 1200mm. We can also get 1350mm wide sheets for 2.7M (9ft) ceilings.
Great crew with a great team approach. A lot of companies can take notes here.
I’m just here for all the drywall experts opinions.
Man I love taping been doing it for 16 years and still learning new things in the trade
Where do we get those 30' long pieces of wallboard?
Australia mate
Lol you know you love them butt joints
I'm a plasterer bro and good at my job
U gt that banjo hit cranking mean work
Love ur tidyness
Great technique and efficiency.
@@notoriousmt My man, appreciate it! I did have a look and can see the gap that would be causing the issue I’ll do some Macgyver work on it
What box is that I can’t find one similar
I remember using the old bazooka types, also remember the fun times of stiff arming 5/8th sheets of drywall
Ugh
This is a perfect crew..
Professionals.
Yeah the boys are cool as. They are all related you know. Two brothers and a cousin
Too bad people like this don't exist in real life.
Definitely not professional......... just a decent house crew.
@@downintheshed2449 🤣 always a critic. Loser
well..some worker here in Quebec should watch this video,no waste of time here and clean job.just got flood on basement and i wish i could find a team like yours
Damn that is solid. I need some new tools lol. That taper is slick
Just a bottom load banjo.
Wait till you see a bazooka lol
I think it took me 3 months to drywall the first floor in my house by myself.. I paid for a crew to tape cause that woulda probably taken me 3 more. I cant believe how easy they make it look. This is the kinda thing that the harder you try to make it nice, the worse it comes out.
This is one job that the computer can't take away, and will always be in demand..
Don’t speak to soon. Technology can’t be stopped. But yea, these guys are A1!
Wait until they REALLY start 3-D printing houses.
This is a definitely different style of finishing I never seen anybody run a 6-in for a first coat we usually do a 10 for a first coat 12 for second and skim for third I guess there's many different ways to do this but this one is new to me
I and every taper I know (in my area at least) use a 6in for rough in
We do things a lot different in America.
Definitely interesting.
To see how other countries do it.
We do it better !
Bad ass crew. Thanks for sharing . I do drywall finishing. Crazy how fast you guys work together.
Put the bucket higher for the man in the stilts ,,, PLEASE!
Haha, yeah it's a bit low there
If the man on the stilts should set the bucket where ever he wants it before he gets on the fucking things
Kieran Horkan this is unit two of taping not one. Unit one was placed nicely for me on-top of two buckets. Unit two was just wherever we could forgot the bring something over to sit it on that's all no stress I can pick up screw drivers off the floor with my hands. Bending a little a few times on one floor isn't a big issue but thanks for the concern 👍🏼
Guys on the stilts are the greenhorns you gotta make em work harder lol
That was a joy to watch. Incredible touch and technique.
This would take me a week. And then I’d have 2 weeks of sanding.
It's just a matter of having a bazooka and some boxes
And a couple of days in the shower to clean myself
And it would still look lumpy
And after that I have been told by my wife and my kids: the room has to be redone for sure...
It would take me three weeks and then a month of sanding! Haha
