Urdu and Hindi are both dialects of a language created by the Persians when the invaded us. They are both similar, the biggest difference being the script their written in (Urdu in Persian script, Hindi in Devanagari). Urdu has more Persian and Arabic loan words compared to Hindi, but both are very similar. However high level Urdu and Hindi are very different from each other. Ps the song is both in Urdu and Punjabi. Punjabi is the most spoken language in Pakistan ( half of our population are Punjabis which is why, a lot of people think Punjabi = india only, when that’s not true). Also a note, in different provinces, different languages are spoken, eg in northern Pakistan Pashtun is spoken, eastern Pakistan, Punjabi is mostly spoken. but Urdu is known everywhere in Pakistan as it is our national language.
