@@James-kv6kb I replied but it it didn't get posted... not surprisingly considering how overt the coercion was, to basically turn on neurodivergent people, it's not on RUclips. This is a news story by channel 7, that was much more sublte in it's coercion to hate on neurodivergent and developmentally delayed people, because apparently we're unfairly privileged for having a neurological disability/condition whatever people would like to refer to it as, which I find to be quite disgusting. Arguably the most debilitating aspect of asd, is our ability to communicate effectively in public/face to face, whether it be in employment spaces or in general. To suggest that we're unfairly privileged and a growing drain on the neurotypical-majority society that we live amongst, is absolutely disgusting. Please watch this story until it is wrapped up. As a self managed fund for special needs people, Ive received billing at over $22 per five minutes spent to send an email!
a second email that was between a Services Cordinator and the provider was billed at over $65.
These providers are making out like bandits.
i.e. A provider of "Art Therapy was trying to bill at the top rate of $271 pr hr. This could be per person with groups 2-5.
So taking over $1000per hr for messing about with sticky paint and sloppy clay.
NDIS is a shambles and is soon to collapse under its own weight.

I run my own sole trader business and currently have an NDIS client I helped get onto the system.
The hours spent trying to get basic supports like moonboots, accessories for a mobility scooter like a bag on the back, and other low cost, one time cost supports, only to get told no is insane. I had to fudge the system by having the client buy one part of an electric bed and put the other under consumables just so they could finally sleep properly.
I bill per hour UNDER the limit and have never billed for phone calls, emails or basic communication, I could add an extra few hours per week but I don't because they need all the funding they have and more.
Yet the stories I hear of workers billing for playing Xbox with clients, people going on holidays via NDIS and all the other bullshit really makes it hard to justify doing everything legit sometimes.
I pray for a proper, in-depth investigation and reform to the entire system so it can actually benefit the people who needed it in the first place, not the businesses and companies tearing through an annual plan in 5 months then applying for a plan review for more funding.

Mmm sorry, I’m strongly doubting you have any personal experience with a child in school and ndis…
      Firstly
Schools (private and public) don’t take from ndis… they take from the department of education
That includes asking for additional support workers/teachers for kids with special needs.
NDIS ONLY covers therapy OUTSIDE the education system AND OUTSIDE Medicare.
No medical procedures are covered for a child needing multiple surgeries due to a condition caused from their profound autism.
      No education fees are covered,
This by the way allows private and public schools to simply look at a kid and think.. hmm this intellectually disabled kid won’t raise the average grade/overall score of my school
And therefore is not good for my business… um no we don’t want him.. send him somewhere else or home school him..(which many parents are forced to do for their already socially struggling kids)
So the only point you have is therapist price gouging the ndis. Which I agree they do, ( and it’s already been publicly announced that they’re gonna start hammering down on that and just kicking providers out of the system if the abuse it)
As for it being easy to get on ndis… er… sorry but F off… for 2 parents not needing to learn sign language or communication apps
with perfect fine kids, who sleep at night, can communicate with words, no extreme OCD, aren’t self harming.. yeah sure you got all the time in the world to get through the NDIA and NDIS and get the referrals , see the specialist ( this is for actual ndis funding, as without the diagnosis , you’d be lucky to get 1k from ndis)
I mean I haven’t had an 8 hour night of sleep for years. When I’m solo parenting, I can’t even do a number 2 without my 5y old autistic child being in the bathroom with me. And me and my wife have to work full time just to support the gap fees in specialists hospital fees for our son..
You have no idea what your talking about short of parroting the well known fact that some crappy business take advantage of government schemes at the detriment of the rest of us…
But perhaps your of the frame of mind that “hey, tough luck , don’t take everyone else’s money just cause your kid is unlucky”
Well. As you get older and need that laser eye surgery for your cataracts or need that knee replacement in your old age.. just remember.
You’re not contributing to society.. your a drain on it right.. so like a race horse.. we should just off you? Your knee will never be perfect, nor your sight,
you’ll never be as fast physically or mentally (on average) as a 30 year old.

    Definition incoherence creep.
Top down delivery of purposefull murky objectives with the pre determined intention to create individual self definition metrics that under the guise of budget reduction, will pressure arbitrage inaccurate, detrimental application of non existant mechanisms or "voluntary" ones with the view to impose restrictions that are budget meeting rather than government obligation of care meeting.
    Like "work for the dole".
A legal contradiction of definition in a sentence.
The government seeks to shift its obligation of care away from itself and onto those in need of care and is doung so whilst fracturing its function, and unironically redirecting funds to those who dont need, from those who do.
Nothing new here, but pretty good questioning senator, these people are doing this, they DONT get to pretend they are not.

Some level of competence and the ability to manage costs without reducing services is just not something you ever see in government. Whatever one thinks about the NDIS, the response of the Head of the Department and the appalling non-entity of a Minister demonstrates that contempt for the Senate is not solely confined to contempt for Senators on the right. To be totally fair, the NDIS bureauceats in the second half seem to have a much better idea of their obligations to give helpful answers, unlike her Departmental Head and useless Minister.

The issue of having to go via LAC for putting in access request was raised at the Every Australian counts forum with Garth O’Brien general manager service design in early November as people were sending in via email then get auto response saying they have to go via LAC. He said you could request access via multiple channels. I asked about applying via email and meeting accessibility needs and he said to put in complaint if not working as it should. He raised ID as an issue for emailed access requests.
From all reports I’ve seen in various fb groups people are all still having to go via LAC and this is causing delays & stress. NDIA also seem not to be taking date of emailed submission as start of 21 day clock. The auto reply email is reportedly still happening. The meeting with LACs reportedly make them go through all the info already documented in access request but summarising it which is a recipe for disaster. It seems this process involves some of the planning for when a person does get access. Rather than doing it with a planner. Seems pretty rough to be put through given you’re pretty likely to be rejected.

You can't really kick providers off the scheme. They are not "on" it.
The government didn't bother requiring any qualifications for the vast majority of providers. The government also didn't require that they sign up to any kind of database.
Therefore the government has created the situation where any greedy uneducated person can use vulnerable people to ride the government's overpaid gravy train. This is why abuse of disabled people is rife.
Until the government create a database for all providers, they will not be able to actually ban them from providing supports. This was all deliberate by the government as the NDIS was rolled as a jobs scheme. It had far less to do with helping vulnerable people.

It’s not the NDIS that cannot be sustainable but all those on the dole for more than 2 or more years refusing to get work and the 40 billion on aboriginal affairs with no accountability. Then we have this inept government spending billions over seas and a further 40 million on a add for the tax 3 debacle.
Let’s not mention the mess the Labor government has created with our own defence forces and the increasing wages of politicians year after year.
So to have a go at the NDIS is laughable when this government is allowing the increase of asylum seekers,
More bits arriving and no accountability on their own administration always wants to blame the NDIS.
Yes there are issues and until all providers are registered then all the private people that have come into the system since they list jobs because if COVID has also caused issues.
The NDIS is at the moment the only body that no one needs a certificate etc to start their own business and until there is more accountability by the NDIS body to investigate claims of miss use on both parts, which include participants and providers, then nothing will verve change and we will continue to hear about the blow out.
What about the blow outs of this Labor parties spending which is never bought up or the over paid wages of politicians never talked about because we cannot continue to keep paying politicians wages with the gross increases year after year.
I get fed up with participants that this is service is not sustainable yet the governments never talk about all those people on the dole for wo years a d longer not lifting a finger to out back into society yet so they get slammed for their kiss use of public money buying grog, tattoos, drugs and failing to get a job tear after year. The answer is plain and simple NO!
