  • I'm starting a new project, and I hope you guys find it useful! It's called the arcane algorithm archive and is an archive to all the arcane algorithms we cover: www.algorithm-archive.org/
    If you want to contribute, here's the github repo: github.com/algorithm-archivis...
    The music came from Josh Woodward (sped up 1.5 times):

    Twitch (where I do all the simulations):

    Hey guys, this is the project I was alluding to in my last video (which I realize was super long ago). My hope is that by working on this new project, I can start to get regular content out in a way that we all can enjoy.
    Thanks for watching and let me know what you think!

    Probabilistic algorithms might be a fun addition at some point. Stuff like Bloom Filters.

      Heck yeah! Looking forward to those!
      Man we have so many algorithms to cover! Can't wait!

    Almost forgot I was subbed to you.
    Great video, I wish you'd post more often.

      I know I say this all the time (so I sound like the little boy who cried wolf), but I think I've found a good cadence and will be pushing myself to post as regularly as I can.

      Oh, cool! We are still kinda starting with the algorithm archive, but it's growing slowly and surely!
      Welcome aboard!

    Great initiative. I don't know if similar ideas exist, if not why in the hell nobody thought about it until now! Anyways, going to bookmark the gitbook page and hopes even i could contribute to the collection.

    • @LeiosLabs
      @LeiosLabs  6 лет назад +1

      Similar initiatives exist, but they are either too focused on the code (so it's completely impossible to follow), or too focused on the algorithms (so there is little actual code). Here, we are trying to have the best of both worlds.

    Firstly I want to say, that I just saw your first video which now inspires me to write this comment.
    I maybe found something crazy in the faculties row, which would be noteworthy.
    It would be a great honor for me to explain it to you, if you want just write me back and I will explain.

    Came here from 3b1b... I think I saw your site a few years back, I had no idea about the project though... That's amazing, I'm blown away and I just wanted to show my support. Hope you're still active and I want to contribute too, do you accept code in Racket? I have several implementations about AI, fractals, physics and math, but might need some documentation and review...

    • @LeiosLabs
      @LeiosLabs  2 года назад +1

      We are relatively active. Most of the discussion happens on Discord: discord.gg/tJZRZysr. The core problem right now is that we do not have an adequate number of reviewers, so Racket PRs (for example) kinda sit for a long time before being reviewed and merged in.

    I adore this idea and have done some similar things in the past myself (mostly for general documentation purposes e.g. github.com/sancarn/Innovyze-ICM-Libraries/blob/master/docs/Infoworks-ICM/DML/Reference.DML).
    Something I might suggest is using DML instead of MarkDown. In general DML is mostly the same as Markdown, but is infinitely customisable and thus is perfect for documentation (e.g. Includes LaTeX, embedded videos, spoilers and is infinitely customisable from there):
    tarvk.github.io/Empirler/docs/editor/editor.html#mode=DML;view=viewer
    and
    tarvk.github.io/Empirler/docs/DML/API-Reference.html
    (Bare in mind I may be bias because I was a core contributor of DML)
    Would be happy to provide Ruby/Crystal/AHK contributions :)

      If you want to learn more, feel free to hang out in our discord server: discord.gg/Pr2E9S6
      There are plenty of smart people there who can help you out. It's usually easiest to learn to code by doing what you can to finish a project that involves programming. Lessons and courses are fine, but until you have code to actually write in front of you, it's hard to really figure it all out.

    Do you only accept community input on existing algorithms in the book written in different languages, or can we submit new algorithms to be added as well? Ex: adding mergesort/quicksort to the sorting section.

    • @LeiosLabs
      @LeiosLabs  6 лет назад +1

      You can write your own chapers, but talk to me about it first (so we are not writing the same chapters over each other). That said, everything needs to go through a review and I'll be a bit harsh on chapter content. Here's a link to discord: discord.gg/Pr2E9S6
