Hi! Probably not completely relevant to this video, but just thought I'd ask a very quick question: I am trying to remix a song with female vocals which is in e minor. What I want to do is keep the key of the song (and obv the female vocals) as is - in e minor - but I want to use the female acapella and at certain parts of the vocals change (lower) their key to make them sound like they're male vocals. So as to end up making a "duet" of a man and a woman :P My question is what key "goes" with this e minor song for the "male" vocals; so that I know what key/s I can shift the female vocals to add the parts of the song that I want? I assume that this must be possible as there are countless songs with man/woman duets that is obv one key, but that doesn't mean that the male tries to make his voice sound... female lol (and the male vs female vocals are obv sang in different keys since a man has a "deeper" voice than a woman- right?) What I did was use Serato Studio to create/separate the stems from the original E Minor track (vocals / melody / bass / drums), and each audio stem, separately, is in E Minor too (obv). Since in Serato Studio I can change the audio parts' key to whatever I want, I was thinking that I could shift the key of some of the vocals (the rest would remain in e minor) to another, lower, key to create the "male-sounding" voice I am taking about; so that the (untouched) female, and the (key-shifted) "male" voice would sound "correct" together in this e minor track remix. Wouldn't this key changing be enough for what I need? If yes, then what I need to know is what (lower) key/s I can shift the parts of the e minor female voice that I want to change so that they would sound right in this e minor track to. There is a "table", I think, that says that, say "e major 'goes' with g minor" or whatever. Isn't there? Is that how I should do it? If yes, where can I find this table?

Typically if you’re changing an octave, it could be from where you’re at a -6 or +6 jump the resource that you’re probably looking for that can help you out is Google search the term Camelot wheel circle of fifths. Those are some resources you can use that can help you still stay in key with the vocal that you’re trying to adjust. Sometimes I’ll do a stacking method where say the original key is E minor which would show up as zero I would then to a vocal at 6+12 then a -6 and a -12 in pan left to right different amounts , and balanced them to get a cohesive vocal
@@djgonz123 I just checked out the Camelot wheel that you mentioned. I tried to link it here but RUclips keeps taking down my post for some idiotic reason. If you can see it it looks G major "goes" with E minor... Does that mean that I can keep the track and the female vocals in E minor, and some of the vocals I want to change to "male" vocals I can just change them to G major by using the down keys in serato studio to make the female Vox "deeper"?
@@djgonz123 Ah, ok... So E minor to G Major is one octave down? (I suck at this :P ). So, if I understand correctly, the only thing that I can add to my E minor track, that's lower in key, is elements (vocals instruments etc) in G Major (nothing else would sound right). Correct? Don't understand how to export an acapella. I've added the song to the top left window I've selected the vocals only. There is nothing on the bottom timeline and I don't care about that because I don't want to do anything here - all I want is to export the four stems for remixing in Logic. When I to export when I go to the export function it just exports a one second silent wave track. What am I doing wrong?
@@nounix your needing to add the audio to just the timeline then do your stem layout so your not just creating a scene. For what your going for you need to use the timeline on the bottom to export the whole stem your trying to get
