Nobody can deny that UM has the most badass looking bikes. Sad it failed in India.

In 2016 I was 16, a 10th passed boy entered 11th, My schedule was soo busy and I had to return home at night after tution classes I really needed a motorcycle and my parents bought a Bajaj avenger stree150 for me as per my wish though I wanted the 220 version. And just after few months this motorcycle came. I regretted soo much that it was not in the market when I was planning my motorcycle... I always had a soft corner for this motorcycle. It's 4:31am Suddenly this motorcycle came to my mind and I was thinking why this was discontinued. And this is how I found this video. Very informative, This was not supposed to happen. If it was a Chinese manufacturer the it's a thumbs up for their downfall 👍... But as an automotive enthusias I still appreciate the performance (Top end was 145kmph+) and the styling.
Same brother , I also really used to love the bike so much that it use to be my dream bike , there is a famous cafe near my house in my area and this was back in 2018 when i was in class 11, still remember I was just making an entrance in cafe and just after few seconds there was a man with good muscles on his bike which was um coomano grenade. For a moment I thought that this was harley but when I come closer to the bike , but it was commando grenade.
Sadly the brand didn't perform well in market , hope so it could make a comeback with proper businesses strategies. I also really weant rajdoot to make an comeback.

I just bought the renegade classic deluxe 2023 model 300cc and is fantastic.
I have been using the um classic from 5th of oct 2017 its an awesome machine.but due to company shuts it's operation here in India within a year.. unavailability and cost of parts and doing service and high maintenance is like maintaining a vintage car....
i took the test ride of the bike, i was happy with the performance but build quality was very poor. Rusty parts, poor welding etc....

कुछ बातें अच्छी तरह बताई गई और कुछ जरूरी बातें रह गई है:
Lohia एक फ्रॉड और निहायती घटिया ग्रुप है। सरकारी नियमों का दुरुपयोग करके टैक्स, इंपोर्ट ड्यूटी घोटाला करके कंपनी बंध करे देना, पार्टनरशिप तोड़ देना और डिफॉल्ट कानून का फायदा उठाकर नई फर्म बना लेना अब यह ग्रुप की मास्टरी बन चुकी है।
इटालियल कंपनी Piaggo के साथ टाई अप किया जाता है। Lohia group की धकियानुसी प्रेक्टिस से तंग आकर यह यह कंपनी पार्टनरशिप तोड़ लेती है।
फिर नया जुगाड़ खेला जाता है UM के नाम पर। दरअसल अमरीका से भारत इंपोर्ट राहत का फायदा उठाने हेतु सारा खेल बैठाया गया था। चाइनीज बाइक को भारत में ज्यादा ड्यूटी और अन्य कारणों से सीधे लॉन्च करने में दिक्कत हो रही थी। फालतू चाइनीज इंजन जो डेढ़ दशक पहले काइनेटिक का कोपी कर लिया गया था; उसे अन्य क्रूज़र जैसे मॉडल के कॉपी डिजाइन में बैठा दिया गया। चाइना से इंजिन सहित स्परपार्ट अमरीका भेजे जाते और वहा से अमरीकी बाइक के तौर पर इंडिया में ड्यूटी बचाने हेतु घुसा दिया!
इंपोर्ट ड्यूटी नीति में बदलाव और सेफ्टी स्टैंडर्ड में सख्ती से Lohia फिर पुरानी चोर मानसिकता लागू कर दी और कंपनी बंध करके बैठ गए। कुछ गंभीर सवाल भारत सरकार के ऑटोमोबाइल मंत्रालय के लिए छोड़ गए है:
ऐसी बाइक को भारत में परमिशन देने वाली संस्था के अधिकारीओ की जांच कौन करेगा?
हार्ली डेविडसन भी भारत में बंध हुई किंतु उसके पार्ट्स और सर्विस आज भी नियम के तहत भारतीय ग्राहक को उपलब्ध है। किंतु लोहिया को यह नियम क्यों लागू नहीं होते? कोई पार्ट्स, सर्विस की जानकारी आजतक हज्जारो UM ग्राहकों को उपलब्ध नहीं है। मजे की बात यह है की UM आज भी बांग्लादेश, पकिस्तान, यूरोप के कुछ देश और अमरीका में बाइक और स्परपार्ट्स बेच रहा है। कुछ पार्ट्स तो भारत से ही जाते होंगे! तो भारत के ग्राहकों को एक्जिट नियम के तहत बेजिक हक्क क्यों नहीं दिया गया?
और मजेदार बात यह है की lohia अब इलेक्टिक व्हीकल सेगमेंट में लगा है! जहा सरकार बड़ी ग्रांट और लोन सुविधा उपलब्ध करवा रही है। Lohia जैसे हेबिच्युअल डिफॉल्टर और फ्रॉड की मानसिकता रखने वाले ग्रूप को सरकार ने ब्लैकलिस्ट करना चाहिए और UM ग्राहकों को मुवावजा देने के लिए बाध्य करना चाहिए।
