I had the exact same problem with the 9m 2023 Orbit exploding just in the air. Even the damage on mine looked exactly the same.
It got replaced really fast and easily though so the north customer service is great! 👏
I am just hoping the new one will last now. Kind of nervous about it exploiding mid jump now...

Yes let’s hope the new once don’t explode 🙏🏻
I’m actually really happy that my kite exploded just during easy riding, as you could see that I have been jumping over the rocks, so would be a tragical moment if it exploded mid air, now I will avoid jumping over the rocks for some time.
To my friend exploded a brand new Duotone during the kiteloop, luckly he just fell in the water 🙌🏼

Thank you for sharing your adventures in Croatia. It's a fantastic and beautiful country and I was wondering what it was like for kiting. I was there in the 90's during the Balkan conflict, but could not enjoy the beaches. It's time to return! Sad but necessary to have a locals only spot. The wind is free but some regulation is necessary in some areas. Maybe others can learn from your experience. Finally, I love your content because you share the total experience, good, bad and ugly. 👍👍

      Hello,
      with all the respect :)
Did you watch the complete episode and hear the reason of why this spot has to remain Local?
You never heard about a spot that is forbidden for starting your kite?
I'm sorry I didn't explain more about how small is our spot. So yes I agree that every small spot around the world with risky wind direction and risky obstacles has rights to remain Local, Just a small mistake of a forenian kiter could change the future for local kitesurfers for ever, you think this would be nice?
Liznjan is a spot where there is just 20% windy days during the year.
Please imagine, that you have a normal job working from Monday to Saturday, and finally there is a bit of wind during your free time and you are happy you have a small spot in your village for enjoying kitesurfing. Suddenly the spot is closed forever because an forenian kitesurfer with not much experience of kitesurfing had an accident. Can you please imagine how would you feel?
No one forbid forenians to kitesurf in our village Liznjan, there is still possible to start the kite from the other side of the bay, but some forenians would like to start on our side of the bay where is more beautiful because we have been spending our money and time to make the spot look nice for the last 13 years.
BTW... Do you know that many kite schools around the world have privatise 200m beach in front of their school just for their clients that can start the kite just if they pay? this is pretty much the same thing.
Please let me know your thoughts? :)

@@kitesurfexperiencebypetar What's to say that a local does not have an accident and cause problems for the spot? Locals in my area chase away non-locals too, - seems wrong but who am I to argue. In any case, thanks for the response and good luck.

I’m sorry that you are getting me wrong, I’m definitely not here to argue with you or anyone else that probably is also annoyed because of this video.
I’m here to discuss and try to make you understand our situation.
You are right, the locals as well might have an accident that would lead on closing of the spot, this is why the first locals made sure that every new local kiter knows how to safely approach their kitesurf session. Because an accident in kitesurfing doesn’t really happen just because the wind decided to smash kitesurfers around, accident in kitesurfing happens because of lack of knowledge and hesitation of using the safety systems, I hope you understand that the locals don’t have time to give free kite lessons to every forenian coming on this spot?
I had a small kite school on this spot, and for some years I was the one making sure that new locals know how to safely kitesurf.. I was also able to bring forenians on this spot and I was responsible for them that they know how to safely kitesurf and that they know the spot rules so they can enjoy kitesurfing on this spot.
As there are more and more locals that are learning how to kite, there is bigger crowd and automatically the spot is becoming smaller.
I’m living in this village from when I was born I have been kitesurfing and taking care of this spot for more then 13years, but because I respect all the locals, as I said having a normal job with limited free time for kitesurfing, I decided to leave my home town and do kite lessons somewhere else around the world so they have more space stress free while kitesurfing. Definitely this it is not the final solution, again more and more locals are learning how to kite and the crowd is growing every year.
Because of our situation, I learned a lot about what means to be a local, and the local is not necessarily just an arrogant guy who wants to act that he is bigger than anyone else. A local guy probably doesn’t have as much as time or money to travel on different kitesurfing spots around the world as some forenians do.
I will always respect everyone where ever I go, even if I don’t know the reasonable reason of why locals don’t allow forenians to kite or surf on their spot, there is nothing to argue with them, but just respect their decision, and if you show respect they might respect you back.
      I hope you understand.
I wish you all the best in what you are doing and I hope you are enjoying the life 🙏🏻🙌🏼

Agree, I live inland and my "local" spot is about an hour away. I've been kiting there for 10 years and sometimes I still get bad looks from some of the locals because it's "their spot" and I'm like dude it's not like I can kite on a river and the beach is not private property. Never had an accident and of course most people are chill but still really bad vibe in my opinion.
I understand the concern of course but if someone told me to put my stuff away while I was rigging the kite I'd get quite pissed and I think that's also very understandable.

    • @kitesurfexperiencebypetar
      @kitesurfexperiencebypetar  Год назад

Hello, Thank you for watching :)
As the land is from the government but no one is taking care of it except of the locals living near this spot... they are adjusting the road to reach the spot couple of times a year, the spot would not be reachable without that, the grass and bushes growing on the spot are trimmed multiple times a year by the locals, the trash which unfortunately sometimes comes out of the sea is cleaned by locals. So the answer is quite simple, the locals are all the people that spend their time, energy and money to take care of this land. Even the Croatian law, which I believe is the same around many countries in the world, is that if the government wants to build now something on this land, who ever took care of this land is capable to stop the project, as this people are watched like owners of the land because they have a proof of taking care of the land longer then 3 months, the case has to go first true the court for the government to be able to build something on the land.
Of course this is not the only reason, as I mentioned in the video the another reason is that the spot is small and dangerous for people not familiar with this kind of conditions, one mistake could cost the closing of the kite spot for everyone.
To not allow who ever to start from the beach it's very popular on most of the beaches around the world, Kite schools have rights to decide who is allowed to start their kite 200m around their kite schools, again all because safety reason.

After you know that you have never been taking care of this land, after you know that you would not even be able to reach this land without the locals taking care of the road, and as mention in this episode, there is another spot to start and land the kite on the other side of the bay, so no one is forbidding you to kitesurf.

      Hey Bruce,
      Thank you for your comment.
I don't fully understand what you want to say, but I will try to tell you a bit more about the situation.
We are not forbidding forenians to kitesurf in Liznjan, there is still possible to start the kite from the other side of the bay.
For many years we have been nicely talking and explaining forenians what is the situation of the Local kite spot, some of them would nicely accept the situation and went to start the kite from the other side of the bay, but there been unfortunately many not respectful forenians.
Here in Liznjan is not blowing the wind every day, so once is blowing the locals wants to come on the spot and enjoy kitesurfing, but if every time there is coming 10 different group of forenians and you have to explain them the sam thing, you loose your day of kitesurfing just on talking.
I can agree with you that this sing is looking a bit too aggressive, but we could not find any better solution for reducing the amount of forenians trying to start their kite from this spot.
For sure we have forenians friends sometimes coming on this spot to kitesurf, but the locals have to know who of the local guys is responsible for them to tell them the rules of the spot and to make sure they are safe kitesurfers.
It's true that this is a governments land, but legally this is also our land now because we are taking care of this land more then 3 months(exactly, more than 13 years), even if the goverment wants to build something on this land we have the rights to not allow them to start building anything, they should take us true the court first.
Now with this video we hope that more forenians coming to Liznjan for kitesurfing will understand our logic and respect it.
I'm sorry for this aggressive Thumbnail for the episode, but this is how its RUclips working to get more clicks.

Exactly. If you activate the quick release you won't be able unwrap those lines from the bar. So if there is a death loop your only chance is to get go of the kite completely. In contrast, when you act quickly, while the lines are slack you have a chance to unwrap the lines and then activate the quick release if needed. Petar, don't you think it's worth having a quick look on the bar before the quick release?

@@andrasgefferth968 Hey Andras, yes maybe you can have a quick look on the bar before releasing, but I definitely do not recommend to try being quick on untangling the lines from the bar, in case you are to late on letting the line go it might be super dangerous for your fingers. As always I do and I recommend to everyone, to immediately disconnect the CL quick release if the kite completely looses the tension and starts falling in the power zone. In past I didn't wanna use the CL QR immediately and in many cases I had bad experience, like broken kite or a strong pull causing a hard pain in my back. So I believe that it's much safer to disconnect the CL QR then recover the CL and restart the session :)

      Hello Florian,
      thank you for watching :)
Can you please tell me from what words did you conclude that I'm praising localism? definitely it is not my intention.
Surfer localism is a completely different story, it is not comparable with kiteboarders.
In this video I wanted to tell a bit of why this spot should remain local, and to be a local or a spot just for chosen kiters there is nothing wrong about it.
Do you know that many kitesurfing spots around the world have the rights of deciding who is allowed to start the kite from the beach in front of their kite school? would you also called "praising localism"?
The main reason of why kite schools or locals should decide who is allowed to start their kite from their land is:
If one kiter has an accident, this spot could be forever closed for any kitesurfer. Kite schools offer the chance to pay a fee so they explain you how to safely enjoy kitesurfing on this beach, and there are probably beach boys helping.
On this spot in Liznjan, unfortunately no one can run a business with a kite school and offer people to pay a fee. As we know that many kitesurfers don't know how to safely start their kitesurfing session, things in here could became very dangerous, also because the spot is surrounded with rocks. Unfortunately here in Liznjan is windy just 20% of days during the whole year, many local kitesurfers are having a standard job from 9-5, many not being able to travel on other spots around the world, when it is windy they want to enjoy every minute kitesurfing, unfortunately they don't have time to look after every single foreigner coming on the spot, to make sure they know how to safely kitesurf. If just one accident would happen the spot could be closed forever, it means even locals would not be allowed to kitesurf in here.
With all the respect, do you understand the risk?

    • @IJzzo

@@kitesurfexperiencebypetar Well your video title and thumbnail does at least let someone think it is about localism. The click-bait you got very right here.(I also got caught by it) Still it is maybe not a good idea to present the locals only spot in a video considering the background. I assume that most kite surfers don’t have a local spot as businesses(unfortunately mandatory) aren’t that much spread close to shores (in Germany here at least). You have fair points with your spot being dangerous and fear it could be closed, that is everywhere same problem where it isn’t 100% legal I guess. Tolerated until something happens. In that case it can be indeed seen different than the surfer’s localism.
How do people not know how to safely start their kite? Isn’t that something they learn usually at kite-school or are there many who never visited one?

@@IJzzo You are right, the thumbnail looks agressive for a better click-through rate.
I'm not sure on how many different spots around the world you have been kitesurfing?
But you might see many kiters with good level of riding have issue with safely launching their kite with an assistant, especially when they get on a new spot, they get confused and problems happens. This is unfortunately because most of kitesurfers don't follow or don't know the safest steps for launching the kite with an assistant. Not many kitesurf instructors are following the safest steps for launching the kite with an assistant, so they are not teaching it to their students, this is why I did an episode about it for helping kiters that unfortunately didn't get any information about the safest steps and why they should follow them, maybe you already saw this episode ruclips.net/video/q1HfwWxIb4s/видео.html ?

As you never know what kind of power your kite might get, And a line could easily twist around the kite or the bar, So Once the kite gets tension again could also immediately starts looping.
There is a chance that nothing of this happens, but I would not recommend to risk !

How do you deal with non locals going to the spot?
How does the interaction go? Kite surfer get's there, starts to pump the kite. What do you do?
What if You tell them to leave and they go: is this your private property? no? I'm still going on the water.
I live in a very small island and in the summer, when it finally makes sense to live here, thousands of people from all over, come to overcrowd our best spots.

In past there have been hard ways, but this changed a bit when I had my small school on the spot, tourist who had lessons with me or tourist that have private equipment been paying to me so I was responsible for them, explaining them the rules of the spot, making sure they know how to safely start their kitesurf sessions etc. Again, we could have limited tourist on the spot per day.
Now as I'm not there I don't know how exactly they are handling it, but I believe they nicely explain, and if they do not want to understand then they might go old school explaining.
It is as well the unknown rule in our country, I believe also in many other countries around the world, that if you are taking care of a land from the government more than 3 months, you can clime that this land is your, even the government should go through court with you if they decide to build something on it and you don't allow them, for sure in the end they win but the process should be through the court so they spend couple of mounts before kicking you out.
It is difficult to keep kiters away from the kite spot, we have a very reasonable reason, Locals are taking care of this land all year long, if no one would take care of this land would not be possible for anyone to reach the spot or to set up their kite, but still some kiters don't want to understand and respect it.
If you are not the one taking care of the land, there is still a chance to ask the city to give you this land in concession if you want to use it for some touristic activities, and then you have lots of right on this land.
