+1 for the battery terminal comment. The person(s) who designed it & everyone who thought it was such a good idea that they made it standard for all bikes need to be locked in a room with 10,000 Honda Super Cubs & made to change out the battery of each one while re-using the connecting hardware. The Aoocci does look good, and the price is right. Plus there's 2 other models & a dash cam only setup to choose from, all at reasonable prices. But I really wish they'd make one with a round display. It would look so much better on the bike for those of us who have round instruments. Hopefully the new Royal Enfield dash starts a trend in the aftermarket.
Yep they're a pain. I never fully unscrew the post bolts and instead just snip a notch into the terminal connectors and slide them in. Works like a charm.
This is timely, I believe Santa is bringing me a C6. I feed my peripherals, Garmin and heated grips, from a relay switched on from the convenient rear brake live.
I'm glad you changed the name of the title because there are so much cheaper android auto motorcycle dashes out there. I do think for older bikes these devices are a great upgrade. Carplay/Android Auto is very helpful on a car or motorcycle. A few months or a year ago you did a secret shopper thing where you bought plastics. I liked that because it showed hey this is what happens when you go dirt cheap. You can do that with these dash units. Some are selling for around $60 which I find insane. pictures make it look like the $150-$200 units.
I had a Carpuride 702 and upgraded to the Innovv N1 Pro to get the cameras and TPMS. Both kits are great. I just wanted the extra addons. I'm on an Indian Scout Bobber in case you are wondering. The question about moving from bike to bike and/or making it quick release. A lo]t of people have been adding or using a BMW mount to their bikes to do this. Several of these devices come with the option to mount with the BMW Nav Mount. If you are just using the RAM mount/USB, it is a quick swap, too.
While on a motorcycle your eyes need to be on the traffic and terrain around that will get you kllled really fast when the situation suddenly goes south, not a little smart tablet. Driving a motorcycle is not like driving a car. Seems like a daftly obvious thing to say, but when you take it to heart and recognize that yeah, really, everything about driving a motorcycle is nothing like driving a car. The speeds you drive, the follow distances you take, the more you slow down from corners, there further away you stay from other traffic, the time of day you travel and in what weather you consider safe and the routes you take... all should be different.
That’s why I love my Yamaha MT 10. They do so many smart things like 90° valve stems for example factory. And the battery nuts don’t have that problem. I don’t know how they solved the problem but the battery that comes in that bike just doesn’t have that problem is the only MOTORCYCLE I’ve ever seen like that.
If take it you’ve not read the comments on lamb chops rides page? General consensus is Aoocci have terrible communication, take weeks to send out orders, the unit itself is just a branded version of a million different ones of the same on Ali express, recording quality is poor if it works. Rain doesn’t mix with the unit very well, it’s not easily removable and you’d be better with a £30 phone mount. Oh not to mention import duties from china!
It seems like they were overwhelmed with orders during that time. I imagine they must have been scrambling. Fortunately, after a week of waiting, they finally sent the package, and I didn’t get hit with any customs fees.
But my experience was a bit different. I also bought something similar for around $90, but after a wash, the touchscreen stopped working because of water damage. Later, I got the Aoocii C6Pro, and while the video quality isn't super sharp, it works just fine for providing evidence to insurance companies.
Here's a tip for you. When removing or replacing a vehicle battery, always remove the negative connection first, and reconnect the negative connection last. No short-circuits are then possible, battery to chassis.
I followed the Link. Sounds like it is a front and rear camera. I don't need tire pressure or temperature monitoring. I use an air gauge and I can put my hand on the tire for both temp and pressure. I already have bluetooth with my GARMIN GPS and my Cardo or Sena Blue tooth headset . The rear view camera could be nice .
Spite you should do a 900RR exhaust conversion!! I picked up a system from black widow exhausts in the UK and didn’t take them too long to ship to the US. sounds great and the single can look def grew on me more than I’d think! Was looking for an aftermarket exhaust but no one seemed to make em besides delkevic and I’m not that big of a fan of the cheap eBay exhausts.
I've done a 900rr swap before and it looks a little goofy because the tail is so empty IMO. Also, delkevic are not ebay exhausts. They're UK based (I think) that makes custom head and link pipes for every bike, then uses three or four of the same muffler designs to keep costs low. I have run delkevics on three different bikes and the fit and finish has been great including on my old 919
I'm wondering how something like this would work for an old Jeep? At least if it's for a motorcycle I know that it's water and dust resistant. I've got two motorcycles too, but if it can survive a CJ-7 with me driving it can survive anything. lol
Compared to the Chigee how responsive do you find the software/UI? Just based entirely on the boot up speed and the little demo in the garage, the processor seems kinda slow. It takes a second to change page and more than five seconds to boot.
That's a great upgrade for any kind of motorcycle, really. I bought one of the cheap ones off of AliExpress and I'm really happy with it. Well, actually I'm a bit jealous of yours. How did you customize the splash screen??
Hopefully that camera is better at 1080p than it is on RUclips’s 1080p version of this video. Is it possible to connect a standalone camera system to this display?
I think the $700 voyager pro does, but every other trail tech I've had is stuck to one bike and doesn't connect to your phone. They're pretty barebones.
There's not a lot of specs to compare. The Chigee is $600ish, has a similar screen size, similar camera quality, similar ease of install, and operates slightly faster, but other than that, there's not much separating the two that I can find.
If you're thinking that they're the Aoocci and the Chigee are the same you'd be wrong. There are a bunch of differences, as I assume there are between the bottom dollar alternatives.
The only Android Auto/Apple Carplay device that I have seen to do portrait mode is the Alien Rider M2 Max. I know very little about it beyond that, though.
@ Thank you for your reply. I was about to purchase the XR two until I seen your video. The xr2 looks equivalent to it what your using. I’m only looking at these units because my current bike multistrada has blind spot monitoring. I’m looking specifically to cover my butt, The town I live, in which I tend to avoid at all cost is famous for Running red lights, and inattentive driving.
You talk about swapping the screen between bikes... Look up Chigee XR-3 Dashcam..... 3 Cameras and you can switch monitor between bikes as you can buy a separate conversion kit to move the screen to the bike you want to ride... NOT going to be cheap tho....
I just looked that up. It'll be nice when it drops but man alive for all the stuff like the IMU that's gonna be pricey. Especially when you start talking about doubling up on the harnesses with all the cameras and stuff.
@@spitescorner I know... It would be nice if you could choose to buy the 3rd camera later.... That would drop the price a bit... To be honest... I think either buying 2 x Ace Pro 2 Action Cams and using the dash cam feature or 2 x GoPro's (and using GoPro Labs and making the USB Turn On QR code to make it a Dash Cam) is a better use of money as you can just buy extra mounts and move the camera's from one bike to the next... I know that the video is about the screens and modernizing them and I get that I wanted that for my customed VT1300 Sabre but if people just want video for incidents 2 action cams are better for clarity
wish you just have to remove the dashcam unit from one bike and plug it to another bike with all the cams and wiring installed thats what missing most dashcams if you have multiple bikes
Yeah, it's not hard on this but you have to unplug three different cables (four if you have the controller onboard). It would take me like 5 minutes but it's not drop in drop out.
I get the interest in these devices but it's kind of why I ride alone more nowadays. Sick of waiting for people while they tap away at their screens and ring their wives back etc. I just like riding motorcycles. Speedo and tacho and I'm all good.
Umm... the battery thing is just you man. Been working on these things all my life and havent had an issue. I think you're just a clumsy fellow and you have too many wires connected to those terminals. You need to either add a bus bar and or connect them neatly with zip ties n all
Soldering is the right way to permantly fix something to a motorcycle. Taps and connectors fail over time. Soldering doesn't. It's also on the license plate light side not the harness side so it won't damage the important part of the bike.
I bought one and ended up throwing it in the garbage after constant glitches and the inability to run apps like OnX and DMD2. Even carplay would rarely run the 50 minutes it takes me to ride to work. Aoocci was no help and no return/refund but did offer $10 back. The concept is good, crappy execution. Very laggy and glitchy.
i jumped on this channel after the yammi drama, this channel has turned into more ads than motovlogging and somehow yammi is back to having better genuine motorcycle content 🤷♂

I can imagine people wanting this newer tech on an older bike.
Cool that they have some options.
2:02 This is not the first time I've spotted Dethklok in one of your videos. Rock on brother!
What a coincidence, I just reviewed the Aoocci today too. Good bit of kit, I like running the dash with the rear camera view, makes a good blind spot.
You have no clue how much time I’ve wasted trying to find a cheap alternative to the AIO . This is money!
Yeah the AIO5 is eyewateringly expensive. $400 is more appropriate for that thing.
1:18 I have that bike its a Suzuki GSX S1000GT. Uses the 2005 GSXR 1000 engine. Absolute beast of a bike
Good vid. I like to draw switched power from the horn circuit, I figure if I blow the fuse it won't matter getting home.

I bought the Carpuride W702 for my 23 Harley Heritage. It's dead winter so I'll have to wait to install and check it out. I'm Android all day as well.

Man you should try out the beeline moto2. For a dead basic gps display, nothing better.

I'd reckon that has more to do with the battery they put into it than the bike itself. What brand is it?

That's at odds with my experience. The one I've got is solid. The dash cams aren't the best but they're dash cams, I don't expect crisp quality.
If you're expecting like, quality motovlogging stuff from a dashcam you're going to be disappointed.
@ and if your expecting this unit to arrive for the advertised price and still work after riding in the rain you’re going to be disappointed too.

Normally I do that, but considering that the terminals are buried under the gas tank, they need to be attached first on the 919.
Heard you like camera supports... so we got you this camera support that has a camera to support the other camera support
Mmmmm…Portillo’s

Good to hear you watch Lamb Chops Rides...
If you have a newer bike, you can try an OBD2 plug in dash. A lot of info for cheap. None of the cheap dashcams can compare to even a GoPro
i feel the battery terminal troubles
Really wish one of these units would have a pulse sensor for a tach. The ascots gauges are destroyed after the accident lol
How does it compare to the Chigee? I have been saving up for the Chigee but the price to features on this looks too good to pass up.
I would say the chigee is slightly more premium but not 3x more premium. I want to try the C9 and see how that stacks up
I would probably be more for c3 without stuff. I have my camera. Tps would be nice though. Can you power it by the usb to avoid battery connection?
Yeah, it's got a USB cord in the box.
It would be cool if you could make the rear dashcam take the whole screen so you could use it as a sort of rearview camera.
You can

I just guessed at the pronunciation. It very well might be 😂
You can get the same device without Aoocci or Chigee branding on Temu for $60.
If you're thinking that they're the Aoocci and the Chigee are the same you'd be wrong. There are a bunch of differences, as I assume there are between the bottom dollar alternatives.

@@spitescorner The dash. Personálu I feel that navigation should be in portrait, like on a phone.

It has carplay
mmm Portillo's
They will never make a harness so you can swap between bikes. They want you to buy multiple units, use your brain😂
Then why is Chigee working on one? It's doable.
Does this just have an USB to power it?
It can also be connected to the battery via the ACC wire.

Best upgrade for your old motorcycle is to buy a brand new one.
Not everyone can just run out and get a new bike though. Or maybe they want to have an old school bike.
