Hello everyone! I just made an Etsy where you can buy the stuff I make :) It’s madebymayajewelry! I don’t have everything I make listed on there yet, but if you have a request for something I made in this video that I’m not selling, reply to this comment. Thank you so much for watching!
@@gaindefatmand I unfortunately don’t have that one on my etsy! I haven’t figured out how to make the flowers strong enough to sell, but I definitely have similar items on there!
A small bit of advice - never open loops up by pulling them apart - open them with a sideways twist and then slip your item on and twist it closed again. Hard to explain in words but pulling a loop open can misshape it and make it difficult to regain a closed circuit
I’m absolutely BEGGING you to make a tutorial for the wire ring in your ring video that was in the thumbnail! (Looks like the chunky ring but with wire embellishment)
Hahaha hopefully it will be out semi-soon! I'm going to try and film it before I leave for college because otherwise I'll never get my filming set-up ready in my dorm :)
Those are pretty much standard designs that been around for a while and are simple and beautiful. You did a great job making the pieces. I have a taste for ancient jewelry from around the world. Nice video
You can use a small crimp bead or even a small seed bead at the end of the string inside of the clam shells instead of knots. It makes it more sturdy and easier to finish off. Just a suggestion, and saves time too.
hey! just found you out because ive been wanting to get into wire jewellery for a while now! my sister and i love doing things together, and ever since i found your channel, we've found our new favourite thing to do!! all your designs are gorgeous, you should most definitely start a small business! i would spend all my money there- but thank you so much for sharing these tutorials, and giving me something to do instead of being on my phone all day! Hello! I usually don't wear gloves, but my fingers definitely get sore over time. Luckily, I think I've formed calluses, so I think if you don't overwork your fingers but are consistent you will eventually form calluses!
@@itsawildmaya ah, I normally use jewelry fishing thread but Zebco monofilament fishing line works just as good, plus it comes in a bigger roll (700 yards i.e. 2,100 ft) so I don’t have to worry about buying more for a good long time.
I’ve been having so much fun creating earrings lately, I’ve been scared to jump into wire jewelry making it looks hard 😂. But I love all these designs you’re so talented
You may use a binder clip to use temporarily so your beads don’t slide off while you’re stringing them on, so u don’t have to use more string to make knots :)
Just a helper here if you want the wire to not break or be flimsy you can use a 20 gauge would be a more sturdy wire for all hooks and fasteners and better to keep closed and you can work harden it with a block and hammer ,, love the video. Great that you are loving jewelry like I do ♥♥♥♥🌈🌈🌈🌈
Thank you for the suggestion! I’m actually thinking about getting 20 gauge wire and doing that with it - so far I’ve only ever worked with 18 and 22 gauge, but nothing in between.
I would love to know about how long these pieces stay gold for before tarnishing. Or if you use anything to coat your jewelry? I’ve made jewelry over the years and noticed the gold color eventually rubs off. Love your work 🥰
Some of the pieces I've made with this wire have not tarnished yet, and it's been a couple years of wear (not everyday, though)! I will say, I think this wire has recently changed because it's slightly redder in color now, so I'm not sure if that still stands. With the silver-plated gold wire from Joann Fabrics, I find that it tarnishes after about a year of wear, but I continue to wear them because I still like how they look. Sometimes I will coat my pieces in clear nail polish to make them last slightly longer!
@@itsawildmaya I’ve been looking to learn it as well. It seems easy enough. You put the soldering paste where you want the two pieces to connect and then you heat it up. I’ve just never given myself enough time to try it out. “The jewelry school” has a bunch of videos here on RUclips about it. (I think that’s the right name for the channel.)
Looked through your channel and couldn’t find a tutorial for the ring you are wearing on your right hand if you could please make one it would be greatly appreciated 🤍 thank you for sharing all your diys so far 🥰
Instead of tieing many knots you can put a tiny bead and make a bubble knot. To be extra sure before closing the clam add a bit of super glue and it's not going anywhere. Btw you are doing a great job and I really like your videos!
can you please make more videos like these!! i love them you are definitely underrated! also you should do an editing tutorial on how you edit your videos, i love the editing ahah🤍

Great video, thank you for making it and learning us to make a nice jewerly. Could you please write me the the Chinese website where you get your pedants? Thanks!
To make a paper clip chain stronger use half hard wire and hammer the links. Should make it stronger try that and see if that helps I hope it does good luck xx

Hi I’m very knew to jewellery making and I’ve been watching your videos so thankyou but I’m trying to attach a midi collotte to a necklace using elastic wire but every time I try to tie a knot it “unties “. Itself can you please tell how to keep it tied 🥴x
Hello! I don't have that much experience using elastic wire, but I'd say try knotting it several times and see if you can use some type of permanent glue to make sure the knot stays in place. I know some types of thread can also be burned to secure knots, but that depends on what the wire is made out of! Hope this helps :)
These designs are so pretty!❤️ I wonder, for the paper clip chain, if the place where both ends of the wire connected was on the longer side of the links, the links wouldn’t be pulling at the weakest point so it might be stronger. Not sure if that was understandably written lol
Ahhhhhh thank you! Unfortunately I don’t sell online yet (currently thinking about setting up an Etsy tho 👀) but I have a jewelry account on Instagram @made.by.maya.co that I will post on once I do start an Etsy!

Hope this helps!
help please, I have the 22 guage wire but the jump rings I make don't stay together, is there some way to seal it? (Sorry if it has any english mistakes, it's not my first lenguage)
Hello I've been wondering if the wire that your using the "artistic wire" will fade? Like the gold color of the wire will eventually fade? cause I have necklaces that are gold, they're not actually real gold but the color starts fading and it now they looked like old necklaces
So far mine haven’t faded and it’s been about a year since I’ve made them! I would say that’s pretty good, considering the wire I buy isn’t very expensive.
I'd recommend either gold/silver plated or gold filled/solid sterling silver crimp beads! I usually find mine on Etsy. Plated things will still tarnish, but will tarnish less than brass components, for example. Gold filled and solid sterling silver components don't tarnish easily! A cheaper alternative for silver jewelry is stainless steel jewelry, so stainless steel crimp beads are a great option and they don't tarnish easily either!
I LOVED everything you made, and idk if I missed it but what wire gauge did you use to make the heart chains bc ik you mentioned the 26 and 22 (and also what brand is the 26)

hello! what would be the size of the pearls you were using in this video :) ?
They are 6mm glass pearls!
What is the size of the pearls you're using? and how big is the hole in it?
The pearls are 6 mm in diameter and the holes are large enough for 18 gauge wire (maybe more, I haven’t checked) which is around 1 mm in diameter!
Hi! thank you for the video. Is it possible that I use zinc wire?
I’ve never tried using that wire before! As long as it’s safe for your skin and relatively easy to work with, I don’t see why not.
For the larger link chain, to make it more stable could u simply use a thicker wire? Like 18 gauge?
Do you mind if I use these designs for my business?
