Hi Grubby, I have been watching you learn Dota 2 for a month. It is really nice to see you managing to have fun and stay positive in your games. I like your content and interactions with famous community figures. Seeing that you perform amazingly with micro-intensive heroes and are familiar with RTS games, there are some advanced hotkeys you can make use of during your games, once you feel more comfortable (sorry if people already told you about them a million times). If you go to your Advanced Hotkeys in Settings, you can set keybinds for: Making units patrol: You can make your hero/units patrol to kill jungle camps automatically by pressing shift and patrol key onto the camps, while you look at the minimap for example. Saving camera positions: Works like control groups, single-tap snaps your camera onto the saved location, double-tap snaps the camera from the saved location back onto your character. Useful for quickly checking top/bot runes and other important positions in your vision. Selecting your allies: Single-tap selects your ally, double-tap centers your ally on your screen by snapping your camera onto them. If you have very long range abilities, you can use this to quickly go to your ally out of your screen to cast your ability on them or on the thing they are chasing. Good luck in your future games and have fun.
Imagine being coached by one of the biggest dota legends ever. I can understand its hard to keep up. I think next game you play with SK will be a totaly diffrent experience if you can implement all the advice s4 gave you!
I play Sand King for 15 years now (yes i got a problem...) and i think you played quite well for your first game. You kind of have to manage your invisibility with wards and a way to dispel dust if they get you by yourself since you went to the split push way you also have to be very very aware of the map. You did fine for the first time.
Aah, I love this series! I'm a noob Dota2 player, but maybe this small advice will help you: I used to casually blink around the map like you, Grubby. Then my team would get ganked and I just blinked away from them to farm jungle. Or I would blink into enemy hero vision and then be out of range to do anything without any means to get in or out, because blink was on CD. Now, I only blink when I know, where everyone is. When I don't know, I walk. Then, when I see someone, I can blink in or out. Or when a fight starts, I can run to my team and blink in to help. TL;DR: Don't casually blink just to move around the map faster:)
Think s4 could've talked more about what Grubbs needed to do in advance more. Like when Grub walks up to punch creeps for CS and to proc his E, s4 could've prevented it by talking about the core idea of what sandstorming the wave at bot there was. Which is to press W, walk to the edge of the circle and PREP dagger in advance in your mind so you're ready to blink away at the first sign of danger. Though I get it he was chilling out on the coaching a bit cuz the 1st coaching was a bit much, so I do appreciate that he toned it down some. Still, could've done more to talk about the core ideas of what he's trying to teach him I think, but overall really nice vid and was fun to watch!! Hope to see more s4 on the channel :)
lower mmr, max damage sand king is super fun. Radiance, shivas, veil, kaya sange, overwhelming blink. You can solo carry if the enemy team is grouping hard enough. Later on you'll have to play the hero more like he's designed though. Regardless, sandking is a fun hero to play no matter what rank you're in.
One of my favourite builds for Sand King is Phase Boots, Force Staff, Euls, and then any movement neutral item. You can cause the enemy to waste SO much time chasing you around.
I went bald after watching this video from all the hair pulling 😂 I dont think I've ever seen a person not listen more than Grubby in this video. I swear everything s4 said Grubby did *the exact* opossite. If I didn't watch Grubby I would say he was trolling, trying to make s4 shout at him. Also kudos for s4 I do'nt get how he managed to stay calm and not raise his voice even once throughout this coaching session.
From my experience playing against player in your bracket I highly recommend to get stats item early on so you can win the lane easily or even can stay safe in lane. Try to make a play based on your skill 3 and 1 is better than max 2 unless you have a really strong sup who can help you harras and farm in lane. Or they do stack for you so you can farm for fast blink with sandstorm.
Sandking was nerfed the caustic finally when it hit you theres a duration then it explodes even if its not dying it always explodes. now they removed it.
Hey Grubby, I watched an old video of you playing Element Tower Defense in wc3. Element TD also an arcade game in Dota 2. I'm a fan of the game too. Maybe you'll give it a try.
burrowstrike is the single best stun in the game I think. maybe fissure is also there. I've climbed like 3500 mmr by only playing sand king. i guess everyone has their favourite hero.
veteran tip: initiator sand king is about surviving the first jump and getting the chance to use the second blink. second blink wins games if u play initiation sand king.
sand king is one of the heroes with most ensured impact, so you can take it easily and make a good game out of it as pos 3 or 4. sad you missed out rubick, but i understand your thought. i would even say, you have to master dota ability draft before playing rubick. gl hf and work work peon life xD ;.)
high rank guys have NO IDEA how it is on low rank. Most ppl can't get away with invis this easy, is not THAT strong. Sometimes, a little, but not like invisible=invencible, almost never. Most ppl put a sentry or dust right away and you're dead. We just low rank cause we can't play as a proper team, coordinate and mainly tolerate each other's mistakes without lashing out, even tho we make the same and worst mistakes. But individual ppl are not clueless for the most part even at 300 mmr NOWADAYS. It was very different 10 years ago... most ppl I see at my low rank have 1000 2000 games + so they are not clueless and can do some plays very well, while not warding and not helping team, etc.
The ulti does not go on cooldown if you are stunned or if you stop it while trying to cast it, this is so broken. 90% of my ults got canceled in HoN and it in Dota it's just free, you can't fail to cast your ulti lol.
"run left". runs everywhere else but left.... i can see Grubby's brain imploding xD, its so odd to see how much stress being coached by someone does, hes a disaster the whole game, needs to do more multitasking training, maybe play the bomb defusal game, hes a terrible listener. xD
s4 ruined experience of this hero. His mumbling in the background really off putting. In online games people like this end up being instantly muted, and for a good reason.
Looks like this one slipped through! Better late than never!
Alright buddy! Dont forget to hydrate!
The videos where you are coached are my favourite. I like S4 coaching style. He micromanages you but also tells you why when it is opportune.
Honestly very nice tips from S4, as a regular player, i love just hearing pros talk and explain their reasoning
Despite TI going on I never miss these. Hope you're enjoying TI as well Grubby!
yeah ive been watching ti recently too so ive been saving his videos for watch later xD

Since you already know Sand King is based on a Arachnathid model. Sand King in DotA 1 is voiced by a Crypt Fiend undead unit.
Oh really!
@@FollowGrubby indeed. Check Bloodseeker for example his hero model is based on a shaman orc unit but his voiced is based from a Fire Lord hero unit.
I love that s4 stays to help grubby learn the hero, even in demo mode. lots of respect
Glad you liked the coaching session :D
This hero was so cool in Wc3 Dota cause it had all these new custom spells (for the time)
The Sand king model is from the big arachnid(scorpion) creep, from maps like northern isles.
Imagine being coached by one of the biggest dota legends ever. I can understand its hard to keep up.
I think next game you play with SK will be a totaly diffrent experience if you can implement all the advice s4 gave you!
s4: run in a straight line. Grubby: proceeds to change course 🙈

It's crazy seeing Grubby teach things to S4 and see two different pros testing the game differently
"Yes you are right, now pick the other" -s4 the whole thing
53:40 THAT ESCAPE LOOKS GOOD NICE COACHING
As a beginner Ive learned a lot on this video thank grubby

It's often better to shift blink after ult on SK.
Im at demo now, cant wait to see how grubby the farm king will farm using this hero
This is insanely useful to learn SK.
I love sand king, great farm, great mobility, cc and massive damage ult.
Keep going, SK is my favourite heroe
(around 1hour) Grubby: lemme stand next two enemies and show them I'm preparing ult
ummmm bruh?
25:04 how did Grubby level up when he was dead? Corpse gathers XP?
sand king incident
Last game:
"Name's Grubby... 6 time World Champion..."
This game:
"Oops..."
That's Dota for ya :)
?

Ah that makes sense!

Gaben favourite hero
Holy moly, unusual amount of fuckups for you grubby :D but very nice coaching anyway, enough to learn from!
So lucky to be coached by a legend! Been playing for 10 years but needless to say, you can still learn so much from a Dota God
Grubby, btw, "solo kill" means killing by yourself, it doesn't necessarily mean to kill _only one_ enemy hero.
Ghost Scepter would autowin this game

most fun gameplay value of any game I've ever played. hope I'll get to play dota again soon :(

This was a subject in the beginning of this vid - In WC3 this guy used the model of Arachnathid creeps.
Grubby plz get your old hairstyle xd

Grubby, come back to Warcraft!
very easy to mess up hero, plus you were up against bh and mk, at least you didnt whiff a point blank stun so pat yourself at the back and chin up
Love you Gurbs but that was kinda painful to watch. Great tips from S4 though.
gg

You give feedback very poorly CLUELESS

Are you okay? He can always go back to sand king. Noone stops Grubby.
The mumbling you talk about is called couching
You must be fun at parties huh
"tell me you have no friends without telling me u have no friends"
@@DrLore-zf3je Exactly, fun. His voice sound like he is dying. Total party killer.
