@lalalaika that might actually make a good movie, like a look into what the scientists were working on with the rage virus and the experiments they were preforming up until the activist group breaking in.
I remember watching the first movie, then parts of the sequel: did they change the canon to make them full-on zombies, or are they still just infected mortal people? First movie seemed to indicate the infected would just naturally die of starvation/exposure, and the problem would solve itself in a matter of months, not that they'd remain a persistent threat years later.
It could be that the threat of being infected is ever present but the “zombies” themselves aren’t, that malnourished “zombie” could’ve only been infected for a few weeks. But I genuinely don’t know I’m talking out my ass
I remember that in the second movie, they talked about special infected or infected that are not mortal. Maybe they will go that route, from a division of people immune to the deadly infection and the survivors who can be infected.
well they could easily come up with some explanation. like how when the soldiers have one of the infected tied up in the yard, its throwing up blood all over the place, possibly because there's other people around triggering it's rage. if there's no one else around they might conserve energy and last a lot longer. You also don't know how long infected blood remains contaminated on surfaces so there could be new infected from people drinking infected water. who knows. I doubt they are going to go " undead immortal zombie" with it, since its been grounded in biology so far.
Maybe. First and second movie showed them as infected humans and not “zombies” per say. Meaning they day from starvation like humans do. I hope it’s touched upon. I hope all makes sense.
I guess I’m curious how the outbreak has lasted so long when I’m the first movie they show them as “human like” and they’ll die of starvation. Also hope that the infected are the main focus and it isn’t to much about how society/survivors are the real enemies. To many zombie movies like that.
My guess is it becomes endemic. Animals become a reservoir population that are asymptomatic or low-symptom, who pass it to humans. The virus begins to evolve so it doesn’t straight-up kill the host. And the few humans with immunity or who are to be semi-functional carriers-Typhoid Marys-continue to live, spread the virus, and possibly even have children who are infected…
For me, this is an early Christmas Present for 2024. I plan to reward Sony by watching the movie on DAY ONE and taking the entire family to the theaters to see it debut. It's gonna be epic.
It is one of the best and most chilling movie trailers I have ever seen. I hope the film lives up to it. 'Sunshine' 2007, by Danny Boyle with Cillian Murphy, is great. Boyle and Garland make movie magic together.
It seems like they are hand-waving away the premise of the first film. These are NOT undead or zombies. They are mortal humans infected with a rage virus. If they do not get enough food, or water, or shelter, etc., they die like anyone else. It will be interesting to see how they come up with an explanation of how such a condition could last 28 years.
I could think of a couple scenarios that would be plausible with the story, (1) the virus has mutated, they are still highly aggressive, but it is less dangerous and just makes the infected basically feral. So they still seek out other food and water, or (2) these are the last remnants of the infected, in an isolated community, there are 8 billion people on the planet, it is going to take a while for the disease make its way through.
Eating animals and cannibalism. Atleast that's all I can think of, but that still doesn't make too much sense since that didn't save them from starvation in the first movie.
By the second movie everything seemed to be ALMOST back to normal but the father of the main family went to thr wife and she was a carrier and she bit his lip to get revenge on him leaving her. That small decision (kiss and bite lip) by the end of the movie it shows the helicopter crashed then it goes to the tower in France (can't spell it) and it shows infected running threw the streets. So at this point it wsd world wide. I believe in 1 and 2 it was just in England I think.. But at the end of 2 it becomes world wide. I just hope that this movie isn't just focus on thr island. I hope most of if is in thr city again. But from the looks of it alot of the movie seems to be in forests and stuff.

Feral humans would have a lot less chance of survival, but not zero. Cannibalism in the first weeks, finding critters and insects after that. I would guess the colder climate would be pretty safe as you would need to plan and stock up for surviving winter. As far as the trailer goes it seems like the infected keep enough of their faculty to make rudimentary landmarks. Even the first movie played with the idea that humans was at times indiscernible from the infected.

released a few days ago, puzzled many fans because the zombie shown in one of the frames of the video looked very much like the character of Killian Murphy from the original 2002 Danny Boyle film. Now it turned out that Jim was not actually infected with the «rage virus», but a very similar zombie was played by British art dealer Angus Neill, the publication reports World of Reel. According to The Guardian, Neill, in addition to playing cameo roles in movies, also works as a model, and his waist is only 72 cm. His thinness (primarily his expressive cheekbones) caused confusion among fans, but perhaps the filmmakers expected this effect.
It’s been 20 years (dawn of the dead) since a really decent zombie film has come out. This looks like what the walking dead should have been: not a soap opera 😅
Never seen 28 days later which is the movie that started this movie series but after seeing this trailer it seems to be my sign to watch the first movie
Hopefully they put more context in this movie than the last one. Made no sense how their mother survived 24 weeks without food or water and was immune even though we saw her get swarmed in the room with the child. It also made no sense as to why when the father got turned its like he knew the exact location of their kids at all times. He constantly showed up even though he should have been dead.
Did I miss 28 Months Later? Why Days, Weeks, then.... Years? Triggering my completionist OCD. But for sure looks amazing. Danny Boyle and gang know how to deliver.

after that is 28 centurys later and then 28 millenia later in the year 30k
@@abbadullreee3298, I'm sure nostalgia and humans' inability to create anything new and thus have to pull from existing franchises will still be going strong all that time later.
@@abbadullreee3298And then we find out it was all a series of prequels to the Warhammer universe.
THIS is a film worth watching.
Guess they waited too long to make 28 months later. 🤷♂
Lol when it said days to weeks. Weeks to years. I was like “what bout months”.
but not long enough to make 28 years later! it should have come out in 2030!
Could be going on reverse ya never know
Wow. So it will come out next year. I'm so glad we're getting a proper continuation from the original director.😀🎉
That song is scary af
It's called "Boots", it's a poem by Rudyard Kipling about British soldiers having to endure gruelling marches in South Africa during the Boer Wars.
@ thank you kindly I was telling a friend that I work with that it’s the first scary song I’ve heard. Good lookin out I appreciate the background too👍
Finally man! I was just twelve when I first watch 28 Weeks later. I have been waiting for a sequel.
So is Aaron Taylor Johnson gonna be in every movie that comes out for the next 5 years? He's the one now?
The poem being recited over the trailer gives it such a chilling tone
28 days is my all time fav horror. Cannot wait for this.
💯👍👍
That is an incredible trailer. Wow.
Is Cillian Murphy reprising his character as Jim? In this movie
Yes, but only cameo. He's gonna have a big role in the last movie of the new trilogy.
This is what we been waiting for
The movie can't possibly be creepier than this trailer.
I think this trailer should be nominated for some kind of creative award.
I love zombie movies, so if the movie is as good as the trailer I’ll definitely be watching it more than once.
1:48
Ummm is that Jim??
EDIT
8 hours after my comment and nearly the entirety of the internet is asking the same question lol.
He must be on that keto diet
shouldnt be as its confirmed jim will be in part 2 and 3 but in part 1 he has less of a presence
One word for this trailer. Chilling!
Anyone noticed that corpse that sits up near the end looks alot like Cillian Murphy...
Like 90% of the comments are pointing that out
No, I don't think so
nope, you're the first to discover that. congratulations
Brilliant cast in the film, especially Jodie Comer 🥰😍. Looks awesome. Cannot wait to see it.
By the way this was all shot on an iphone 15.
this looks really good
God bless Danny Boyle.
released a few days ago, puzzled many fans because the zombie shown in one of the frames of the video looked very much like the character of Killian Murphy from the original 2002 Danny Boyle film.
Is that zombie jim?
Thats what I thought too.
@ looks like him a lot
Yes we can say that. Actually they are living infected people and they are not dead.
@@petileelewis well zombie is just short hand. Its not romero.
No. I think that's just Andy Biersack, but it's 28 years later😢
Whoever decided to use this audio deserves an award or something because holy crap it’s insane
It’s been 20 years (dawn of the dead) since a really decent zombie film has come out. This looks like what the walking dead should have been: not a soap opera 😅
Snyder's remake was just mid, you shouldn't count on it. There have been many good zombie movies over the last 30 years.
@@Shillian88I was going to say. Dude hasn’t really been looking obviously haha
@@jareddavulture58 yeah, he missed movies like Cargo, Zombieland, I Am Legend, Train to Busan and others.
Cool, that means I still have some time to watch 28 days later!
First
Never seen 28 days later which is the movie that started this movie series but after seeing this trailer it seems to be my sign to watch the first movie
😍 trailer better than most movies. Can't wait to watch all 3 in order
1:48 Christian Bale's commitment to his role in The Machinist secured him this role!
I’ve been waiting 28 years for this! Looks great so far! 🧟♂️
I'm already anticipating 28 centuries later
This movie is gonna blow I can already tell 2 movies were enough we didn’t need a third
Can't believe I lived long enough to see the this, yeesssss!!
I'm a watch this 😊 I was so excited when I found out it was coming!!
he actor playing “Emaciated Infected” in the film, due for release in June 2025, is not Murphy but rather newcomer Angus Neill.
I like the way the poem is read, makes it sound like a number station
My God. That's just the trailer and it gave goose pumps
Did I miss 28 Months Later? Why Days, Weeks, then.... Years? Triggering my completionist OCD. But for sure looks amazing. Danny Boyle and gang know how to deliver.
