I got the same glitch. It’s called a Soft-look. The game isn’t freezing but you can’t do anything. You need to reboot the system to continue. It won’t effect the save file, because the game was saved before the soft-lock.
I finished the story mode and then as far as I can tell u locked everyone but the dc section. All I get are duplicates when redeeming LEGO relics. What do I do to get Superman?
this is soooo annoying because ive got this game on ps4 and i need 1 more character and i have all of them..... But.... everytime i open a mega relic.... guess what? you blah blah blah duplicates and also i have infinite mega relics because everytime i open one i get duplicates with means 2 mega relics but i dont care for having infinite relics i just want the LAST CHARACTER!!!!!!!! Oh and btw the last character i need is rex in the space suit
Yeah, it took me a while to realize this, but a large portion of the characters are locked until you complete the main story. I love how the game never hints at this anywhere in the game.

It's not fixed (as of Feb 28th). I hadn't ran into the issue until getting to The Ceremony level, but on that level, every time I try to open a second Mega relic, I end up stuck at the shop not being able to do anything but abort the game and restart it.
We should be able to buy characters
I think the best way is get or buy item relics and until you start getting duplicates and than relic shards and just keep on going

No you get them only if you already have that character or item that says above it. I always get them too
