Yes. That and speed. Kanuga likes a lot of speed. Best to hit it at 27mph+. I can clear it at 29mph (I need a little more speed because my eMTB is 49lbs. Of course on an eMTB there is no assist over 20mph, so I should have given it a couple more peddle strokes. If you are on a reg. analog bike 27mph should be fine to clear it as long as you pre-load properly. I landed about 5ft short... so about 45ft. from the lip of the jump. Nice to have that suspension dialed in before full send.
this excuse..AGAIN?! LMAO. Lack of skill WILL get you killed. It's just a numbers game. Stop it with the equipment. Pretty obvious as you cased jump before and went wonky. Nothing says you can't make it without skills, but it'll catch up to you sooner or later..but yeah, it was the equipment...
You are right. I did case it by 5ft so maybe fast rebound would not matter but I’ve been on this trail and have jumped it several times with no crashes. However what I am saying is true - I did have my fork freshly rebuilt and this was my 1st day riding on it.. and even have a shock wiz on this bike in the video. My error for not tuning before - but the lip was also totally redone on this jump since last I rode it. Only way to get the skill is to keep practicing
Make sure to check your skill before hitting big brutus
Learning the hard way will have to do.
Wow!
I’ve been back twice and still haven’t cleared them. Have to get my mojo back for redemption
I’ll be sure to turn my rebound down before hitting brutus i guess

Yeah, if he's casing the second jump on that trail I don't think he should be trying Big Brutus
Rebound has more of an effect on take off than landing. Crashed bc of the hard case.
