As someone who went to see _A New Hope_ with his best friend FIVE WEEKS IN A ROW at the age of 14, I don't hesitate to say what my favourite Star Wars film is: it's _The Empire Strikes Back,_ purely and simply. Luke acts from the very highest motives, but he ignores his tutor's advice and ends up badly beaten, only escaping death by seconds through the intervention of his friends. I have a (barely) published 7-book fantasy series, and I have three favourite moments: first, at the climax of the first book, where the scientifically-bullied protagonist discovers his unbelievably destructive powers through sheer desperation; second, in Book 2, where said protagonist royally screws up - but it's that momentary frisson of "Oh, my God, what have I _done?"_ that I love; and third, in Book 6, where the protagonist is pretty confident in his powers. It's a little difficult to explain in a few sentences what takes four chapters to unroll, but here goes. Brianston is not a real town. While you look at buildings and landmarks, they stay as they are, but if you look away and look back, you could swear they've changed. It turns out that a mighty wizard wanted to create a dragon, but became absorbed as a part of it. The dragon needs human blood, so the inhabitants of the town imprison humans and use them as blood banks. It turns out that when the dragon (known by the townspeople as "Uncle Gruon") is sated, he sleeps, and when he sleeps, he dreams of his foodstock. After a while, there are recurrent dream-people who realise this, and who don't want the dragon to wake up and banish them into nothingness again. So they keep the dragon gorged, so he keeps dreaming. Our hero astrally travels and discovers the truth, and finds a way to keep the now non-sentient wizard appendage permanently frozen and doing the dreaming, and wakes up the dragon, which causes a little chaos before he destroys the dragon in spectacular fashion: finding out that he can't assault the dragon from the outside, he guesses that the flames come from some highly combustible substance inside the dragon. So when Gruon opens his mouth to flame, the protagonist sets himself on fire (he can do this without harm to himself) and leaps down Gruon's gizzard. The dragon explodes, leaving only a blinking, temporarily-deafened wizard in the huge crater thusly created. Our hero is pretty pleased with himself: the townspeople no longer need to snare mortals as blood-udders, but they can stay in the mortal world. Job done. Except that the Brianstonians aren't at all happy. They truly did love Uncle Gruon, and some of them throw rocks at the protagonist and his friends, who have to decamp at some speed. If Rey would just _once_ confidently and powerfully _screw up,_ and have that hand-clapped-over-mouth momentary horror of, "What have I done?" all might be forgiven. But she learns nothing. She loses nothing. She has no moments of self-doubt, uncertainty, rage, fear, that are the occasional unwanted companions of all real human beings. But Rey is a 2d caricature of a real, breathing, mortal human being. In fact, she reminds me of the inhabitants of another town in Book 2 of my series, where a vengeful and very nasty demon (whom the protagonist and his friend "kill", but he's back in town for Book 7), who feeds on fear, keeps the people of Crar in servitude, making them his puppets, condemned to play out caricatures of the demon's idea of what people are: all the barkeepers are jolly, all the matrons buxom and protective, all the children merry and irresponsible - ALL THE TIME. Rey would fit in that crowd in an instant: but she's nothing like a real person.

As someone who went to see _A New Hope_ with his best friend FIVE WEEKS IN A ROW at the age of 14, I don't hesitate to say what my favourite Star Wars film is: it's _The Empire Strikes Back,_ purely and simply. Luke acts from the very highest motives, but he ignores his tutor's advice and ends up badly beaten, only escaping death by seconds through the intervention of his friends.
I have a (barely) published 7-book fantasy series, and I have three favourite moments: first, at the climax of the first book, where the scientifically-bullied protagonist discovers his unbelievably destructive powers through sheer desperation; second, in Book 2, where said protagonist royally screws up - but it's that momentary frisson of "Oh, my God, what have I _done?"_ that I love; and third, in Book 6, where the protagonist is pretty confident in his powers. It's a little difficult to explain in a few sentences what takes four chapters to unroll, but here goes.
Brianston is not a real town. While you look at buildings and landmarks, they stay as they are, but if you look away and look back, you could swear they've changed.
It turns out that a mighty wizard wanted to create a dragon, but became absorbed as a part of it. The dragon needs human blood, so the inhabitants of the town imprison humans and use them as blood banks. It turns out that when the dragon (known by the townspeople as "Uncle Gruon") is sated, he sleeps, and when he sleeps, he dreams of his foodstock. After a while, there are recurrent dream-people who realise this, and who don't want the dragon to wake up and banish them into nothingness again. So they keep the dragon gorged, so he keeps dreaming.
Our hero astrally travels and discovers the truth, and finds a way to keep the now non-sentient wizard appendage permanently frozen and doing the dreaming, and wakes up the dragon, which causes a little chaos before he destroys the dragon in spectacular fashion: finding out that he can't assault the dragon from the outside, he guesses that the flames come from some highly combustible substance inside the dragon. So when Gruon opens his mouth to flame, the protagonist sets himself on fire (he can do this without harm to himself) and leaps down Gruon's gizzard. The dragon explodes, leaving only a blinking, temporarily-deafened wizard in the huge crater thusly created.
Our hero is pretty pleased with himself: the townspeople no longer need to snare mortals as blood-udders, but they can stay in the mortal world. Job done. Except that the Brianstonians aren't at all happy. They truly did love Uncle Gruon, and some of them throw rocks at the protagonist and his friends, who have to decamp at some speed.
If Rey would just _once_ confidently and powerfully _screw up,_ and have that hand-clapped-over-mouth momentary horror of, "What have I done?" all might be forgiven. But she learns nothing. She loses nothing. She has no moments of self-doubt, uncertainty, rage, fear, that are the occasional unwanted companions of all real human beings. But Rey is a 2d caricature of a real, breathing, mortal human being. In fact, she reminds me of the inhabitants of another town in Book 2 of my series, where a vengeful and very nasty demon (whom the protagonist and his friend "kill", but he's back in town for Book 7), who feeds on fear, keeps the people of Crar in servitude, making them his puppets, condemned to play out caricatures of the demon's idea of what people are: all the barkeepers are jolly, all the matrons buxom and protective, all the children merry and irresponsible - ALL THE TIME. Rey would fit in that crowd in an instant: but she's nothing like a real person.

I think it was another channel that said this but REMEMBER Paz de la Huerta ??? She was abused by Harvey during a movie that was being made by Miramax (or Weinstein studio) that was also being produced by Disney. Paz said that Bob Iger was also at fault because she was abused during his time. What if Leslye and Kathleen have dirt or something on Iger so now he has to just let Kathleen do whatever she wants?

I don't know why people are even surprised. The industry has always been like this; look at all the celebrities that have died by suicide or other terrible ways. They pass on, but the ones who enabled and/or directly caused their suffering moved on and kept going through the system because they knew how to manipulate it. It's disgusting, but unfortunately just how it has been.
