What is Foundation?
Foundation is a grid-less, sprawling medieval city building simulation with a heavy focus on organic development, monument construction and resource management.
The game features in-depth resource management akin to the Anno (Dawn of Discovery) series, expertly mixed with city building elements from Settlers, SimCity, and Pharaoh all topped with narrative encounters inspired by Crusader Kings II to create the ultimate medieval ant-farm simulation.

About me:
My name is Mark and I'm a middle aged (old) gamer doing let's plays of games I'm playing, some old and some new. I've found that recording and sharing game play video is fun, and makes the games I play even more enjoyable. This is a hobby for me with my goal to provide at least a few videos a week, as many as I have time for.

honestly I am just happy I found someone still making Foundation content, I love this game absolutely awful at it but one my favorite quiet city building game.
I always get to farming and everything falls apart soon after that lol

You know.... I'm pretty crap too. There ends up a level of complexity that is self-sustaining but I get stressed. Same with Rimworld after 6 colonists. I can get better enjoyment from watching a person playing rather than playing myself sometimes.
Thank you. Very exciting. I'm going to look even more closely than I've ever looked before. Thank you for taking on this challenge yourself. This is the only achievement I haven't unlocked myself in three years. I can't keep track of how many times I've taken on this challenge. At one point I had an army of 120 soldiers and I still didn't get to have 100 residents. Even more difficult is the fact that soldiers and monastery staff cannot be promoted to residents. I wish you the best of luck.
Guess we have to say goodbye to my... err, YOUR bridge some time. Lol! Looking forward to watching how this challenge goes!

You crazy man! lol - Glad you're doing another Foundation play through. I'm excited to watch the progress.
This is the hardest achievement. When I did it, I rushed to get taxation as quick as possible, used levy's pretty frequently in early game, and utilized the keep constantly. Combining the extra taxation with an active keep quest carried me, as well as actually doing the quests that would come on horseback. The Hospitium in the monastery is another source of money that I didn't realize was a thing until I was completely done, and I still am mad I didn't realize it sooner. Getting to make whine to add to the many taverns needed was a game changer- just beer and berry brew wasn't always cutting it.
Doing the hard clergy achievement after the labor one was an absolute breeze in comparison. Making all your money off selling things is so much easier, or at least it was for me lol.
I believe it, but what did you sell if you couldn't have a bailiff?
@@Tolakram The dedicated to the clergy (hard) aspiration lets you sell things using trade, which you thankfully do not need a bailiff to do! That was what I meant at the end there.
In the dedicated to labor (hard) aspiration town, because it doesn't let you use trade to make money, I really just relied on taxation. Unlocked anything I needed on the labor path, and then I just taxed everything I could in the game. Keep quests did help a lot, but there is only so much you can get from them at a time, and the more rewarding quests take longer, so it wasn't something I souly relied on.
Always love the start of a new village! This is certainly going to be a challenge, but you still have three sources of income, Keep Quests, Taxes, and fulling the Courier/Steward/Messenger quests. As to your question of whether this sort of thing is fun, my personal feeling is that if your having fun, the videos will inevitably be fun, if you find it a slog and aren't having fun, I'd prefer you don't make yourself miserable and potentially lose interest in making Foundation videos.

I finally got caught up on Sharktooth Bay -- that was a fun series! ...but a brand new start is always fun too. Thanks for sharing the seed; maybe I'll try a build-along (ish, anyway; I'll probably put my own spin on things as I go).

I know you like weird names you shoould try 2 mods - Remove Vanilla Names and Historical Angevin Names, That aught to be HYSTERICAL Angevin Names, They crack me up

Ha! Now this is more like it. Your last play through was so easy for you, it verged on boring. Good luck with zero money from trade and zero promotions. At least you will be able to sell most of your war loot.
Anyone else get camera stuttering when moving the camera around in this game?
Depends on population. In the latest version I didn't notice any stuttering until 500+ villagers. Builders are always hard on video when there's a lot of things to move.
Both my messages were crap! under the vanilla rules only one item is allowed at markets, and there must be influence from another mod that makes the Angevin names Hysterical, Its an age thing
