    Really disappointed Bianca's song wasn't chosen to represent the UK at Eurovision this year. This song had amazing lyrics, soulful music and of course was sung so beautifully. Shame the BBC won't release a breakdown of the votes. I like to hope this song came a very close second to Joe and Jake. Bianca's song would definitely have stood a very good chance of winning. Carrie and Katrina thought so :)

    Her live performance is outstanding, shame she isn't representing UK. I am disappointed for this reason. There could have been an opportunity of her competing for the top 5 with this song in my opinion. However, Joe and Jake's song is also good. Their vocals need some work.

    • @onurcanyilmaz4385
      @onurcanyilmaz4385 8 лет назад

      +R I O T UK doesn't usually invest interest to Eurovision, and that's why they always come last. In 2009, UK came 5th with a pleasant song. This means that they can win if they actually send modern songs that interests the new generation. It looks like they want to change their impression this year and look they are determined for victory. To be honest, all of the songs presented are decent and will probably allow them to be in top 10 at least.

    • @Ras6200
      @Ras6200 8 лет назад

      +Onurcan Yilmaz Totally agree with all that!

    • @montmorencymarmot
      @montmorencymarmot 8 лет назад

      +Onurcan Yilmaz You're right about interesting the new generation, but quite wrong about "modern songs". It says a lot that what the "new generation" of Europe has most appreciated from the UK recently was indeed in 2009: a musical theatre-type song written by someone who was most popular here in the 1980s/90s, the sort of thing which is not at all popular here nowadays. And that decade or two's difference in taste between the UK and Europe is one of the main reasons why we do so badly. As the story goes, Jonathan King knew "Love Shine a Light" was going to win when his grandmother told him she loved it...

    It's just amazing how well the UK can cock things up when it comes to Eurovision. This was by far the best song of the entries on offer, yet we chose a singer whose voice, while good, was nowhere near big enough to carry a song like this, accompanied by two completely out of key backing singers. (Every year, in fact, we employ tone deaf backing singers for our Eurovision entries, or dancers with ADHD.)
    And then the BBC make no attempt to give the songs any real staging. The staging goes hand in hand with the performance and the song itself, yet the UK seems to turn the stage into some kind of early 1980s neon hell every time it enters a song into Eurovision.
    Such a shame. I really thought we had a chance with this song, but we screwed it up yet again.

    I'm just watching the performances now (could not watch live from where I live, different time zone). This girl seems to have the vocal ability to fill the song the way the actual winners didn't -I wonder where the lads come from, anyway... some reality tv show perhaps? Sorry, not British here nor a follower of tv programs.
    On the other hand, although she actually can sing and she seems truly sweet (she does!), the song struck me as some sort of "Children of the Universe (minus the hype) meets Katrina," which is not a nice thing to do hehe, at least out of respect for the huge musical tradition the UK has in music. Like, there was no need to revisit songs your own country has sent in the past.
    Best of luck anyway, great country! :)

    Although the winning song was okay, this song was the best of the 6. The verses were a little forgetful but that chorus.....my God....such a catchy hook! This was amazing, I congratulate the UK on picking a shit act instead of this. This was top 5 material now we are probably looking at bottom 5

    Good vocal and good song, but on the stage with everything else on grand final night, we've had songs like this before that haven't done that well. Just because it's lyrically similar to Katrina & the Waves, doesn't mean it's a winner. The one that has won for the UK seems to have a similar vibe to last year's Swedish winning song; so let's just see what happens. Every year we say "let's just forget it" and then it all dies down...

    When I listen to it, I feel that the parts don't go well together.
    Listen to the opening lines before the chorus, and then when the chorus happens, ask yourself did I expect that? It's like two different types of music, one for the verses and one for the chorus.. It's a just a bit odd and maybe that's why it didn't get through. If I'm honest the 6 songs are nothing special in the first place.

    POSTING THIS EVERYWHERE SO IT GETS NOTICED!!!!
    As much as I think this years song is a major improvement on last years song, I still feel disappointed. I initially thought the song was top 10 material but after a whole month of countries revealing their entries, I feel now the best we can possibly hope for is 20th. Top 15 would be amazing for a song of this calibre. Its time for the BBC to give the contest to someone else. You're stuck in the 1990's mindset and still think eurovision is a laughing stock. The BBC are the biggest laughing stocks going! Eurovision has come a long way from being a joke. The songs are consistenly of high standard every year....apart from the UK who take the mickey out of it! Granted there has been countries who have been around our level but they've shot up the leaderboard after a year or two. We're stuck in the bottom!! Let ITV have it so they can maybe bring simon cowell on board and let him have the responsibility or give it to channel 4 as they're big on youth culture and what is big today in terms of music. Another way for us to change our fortunes would be to change the way the contest is perceived in this country! This is why no one likes us! Its a joke for the majority of the UK! There are fans out there such as myself that would love for the UK to win it and actually give a damn about it! The mentally needs to change and most importantly, the channel needs to change. A lot to think about there.
