Great video! I think there’s a big difference in customer service roles, if you happen to have in-depth knowledge about what your company’s products are, you can effectively solve problems and it’s mentally stimulating. If all you need to do is ask a few routine questions over and over (like: have you tried turning it on and off again) it is probably a job you won’t like to do. Like standard call centers.
I've been in customer service for many years. I'm now older than 60! My concern is with certain words and phrases, such as "I got you", or "no problem". The elderly may not understand. You may lose these customers if you don't use basic English. In addition, English purists like me (both my parents were teachers), may not like words and phrases that are not basic English. I think people in customer service need to work on reducing non basic English. Like anything, it takes practice.
Thank you for this advice! Do you think changing some of the words I use to match the age range of the customer (if I know roughly how old they are) may even improve my services?
Great point. While English is the primary language, certain slang or region-specific terms from urban dictionaries can add complexity and may not be universally understood. Whether it’s for sales, support, or any other type of communication, we should prioritize language that is globally recognized and accessible to ensure clarity and avoid misunderstandings.
This was VERY helpful! I start a customer service rep call center job in a couple of weeks and these skill sets you have mentioned and demonstrated are so great! I have learned quite a bit on how to be more of an "active listener" instead of a "reactor". Great job!!!!
Great video! Love the tips on improving customer service skills. They're spot on! As a company that prides itself on delivering excellent customer service through our product, we can't agree more.
Useful information ! Sounds obvious, however, when facing and upset client, being empathetic is challenging, we tend to take it personally and solution becomes even more difficult.
I really have to get better at taking criticism… definitely my weak spot yet it’s nearly impossible to fix since I’m starting to feel it’s routed in trauma 😂 maybe that’s something I have to pay a psychologist for and not something an online class will fix
Thank you for your video I found very help ful . I have a request can you make video on communication skill .How to speak with confident it would be help ful
So nervous about my Lowes interview, its my first ever job interview I have ever had in my 18 years of living and i am dead nervous but I'm trying to take notes on all i have gathered on this video, If anyone has any more tips on communication skills i would really appreciate it since it is my lowest skill, I'm mainly too shy lol.
My english is not perfect and I can’t say some words and I’m in about to start a new job for customer service representative, can I still have this job?
To be honest when I'm with a customer service agent and they are answering me with the... I'm so sorry to hear about your issue, I understand what you're going through... I feel it so fake and memorized.. for example Amazon was offering a one time exception of buying the fire cube control and then they will refund to me after I buy it with my own money. Is that a problem solution... No! Why they didn't send me a link to buy for $0 dollars and that's it? You think I have made the decision? Of course not. Feels like a joke.
My problem is I don't understand people accent because different people use different accent which is difficult to understand in the first time, . I always say ' sorry ' Which i think awful

However purist English language may lose a lot of people. It all depends on the customer you are dealing with
Id say for people who sound older to not use those phrases but if they sound young you can
