I love lennon. This cat was more than an artist. He was a leader. He was an activist. He was a fighter. He was a deep thinker. He was an old romantic. He is for me , the epitome of greatness incarnate. And it breaks my heart to think that he was taken away from us by the worst and lowest form of slugs that crawl on this earth. If we dont do something about rooting out this evil element then john's struggle was all in vain.

Big Brother has always hated those of us who enjoy shaking up the Status Quo and not worrying about being Politically Correct. In the end, paranoid Hoover lost!!!!! Despite the odds, i will continue to be an activists. I am convinced that the feds had something to do with John's Brutal Assassination. I woke up after my sick 5 years of Apathy after they took away one of my biggest inspirations. If you don't stand for something, then you will fall for anything. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE JOHN!! Like all the other "loner" drifters, Chapman stayed at expensive hotels. His last evening before killing Lennon was spent at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in New York. He was carrying more than $2,000 in cash along with his credit cards. Where did he get these cards, and on what basis was the money earned and saved to establish credit to qualify for these cards?

The shooter (Prisoner M.Chapman) said he shot Mr. Lennon seeking fame for himself as he was an unknown nobody. So he chose some one famous. IE John wasn't shot for what he said, but because he was famous. IE it wasn't politically motivated.

John Lennon was not mudered, he was assasinated. The reason was he was very influencial and they didn't like his message, he had to be silenced. It is also highly likely he would of had access to certain information somewhere along the line that he shouldn't of, the old saying the less you know the better unfortunately seems to have applied in Johns case. Rest in Peace John Lennon and thankyou for the memories, you will never ever be forgotten.

Golly, we can only assume he was a threat to the interests of the US crime syndicate, namely drugs and war. Chapman was a CIA mind control subject. Catcher in the Rye was his trigger. I saw a blurb in my local paper where he recently made a statement- and it was a seeming non sequiter about the book. The rabbit hole goes very deep.

yeah, just a little window on to how their relationship was off camera. They were both great at portraying a certain image in public. Remember, Yoko even kicked John of of the house for 18 months, sending him with her personal assistant to watch him and act as his mistress. What a power move!! The minute she said come back home, he dropped the mistress and was back! Most men would have said the heck with this months ago. She controlled him and even had his power of attorney!

I think he did care. But at the same time I think he had issues. He went through a lot as a kid, not that that’s an excuse just a little insight. I think he had untreated mental health issues. Back then mental health wasn’t a thing. It was more of an attitude of okay you push it all inside and never speak about the pain youre feeling. But then it comes out different ways, like it did for him.

I think that is what happened. The Government had them on an fbi watch list and probably tapped their phones and did think them odd for their anti drug anti violent attitudes which are "non normal" apparently but Mark David Chapman was like an obsessed lunatic. Manson too saying Helter Skelter inspired his cult etc. John and Yoko were unusual so that attracts bad elements sometimes. People should be equally shocked how much aggravation they got from immigration too.

I think the government didn't really care too much about John at this stage in his life. He was most dangerous in 69-71 and nothing was ever done. By 1980 he was pretty much a recluse hooked on heroine with some new songs that were rather "poppy" and not political. Not really a threat to national security anymore. (not that he ever was a threat, really).

That lone gunman really gets around...and if you believe that, well, ignorance is bliss.

@daniellaoalsson: Some people may not like Yoko because of the split, or because she was supposedly holding John back. Not only can people not prove this, it's information irreverent to the situation. it should matter about that, it should matter about working towards peace. she was actively involved in this problem, and was beside John the whole way. I respect her, so some should think about their accusations before they say them, and think if they have actual meaning.

@keaton1895 True...but within his fame, everything he promoted was world peace which is what the government hated...since we were at war.

"Recently, she made it possible for us to earn a large sum of money that benefited all of them and they fought and fought not to let her do it, because it was her idea and she was a woman and she was not a professional. But she did it, and then one of the guys said to her, "Well, Lennon does it again." But Lennon didn't have anything to do with it."

If John Lennon were alive today, He would be heartbroken at the state of the world. The war in Iraq, 9/11, George Bush. The genocides in various countries around the world. He and Yoko only wanted a world with no war and for everyone to get along. What the hell is wrong with that?
