- Our day starts early with Wolfie and then a little later the girls wake up and join in having some fun on the scooters and on the trampoline, hanging out with all the doggies before breakfast.
Then it’s time to get into the dogs schedule of exercise, pack bonding and just being there for Diesel at the moment. He hasn’t much participated in any of the activities. But we have noticed that he got closer and closer in just the last couple of days. Today we thought we’d get out the lure machine for a course run. See if that might interest Diesel. It definitely was the most interested he has been. We’re not pushing him, however long it takes is ok with us. Little by little.
Chop Chop has perfected his dock diving technique for the lure. He waits and pounces with pretty much 100% accuracy. The kind of style that looks awfully familiar to someone else we know that patiently waits for the perfect timing.
In the afternoon it’s time to take Maggie and Diesel to the vet. We’re taking Diesel to see if there is anything underlying to his sometimes odd behaviours. Could be anything or nothing, but we just want to make sure it’s not anything requiring medical attention. At this stage, we don’t know much, bloods have been taken and as of this post we have not received any results.
Maggie is going in for a skin check on her moles. She also has a lump under her chin. Miss Violet got her when biting her collar and it hasn’t healed properly even with antibiotics. We think there might be something in there. To clean it out and make sure there’s not any debris stopping it from healing she will need to go into surgery on Monday.
In the evening, a big storm comes in. We all snuggle up in the lounge room and Elle picks Mulan for the evenings movie. Almost everyone falls asleep straight away. Except Kitty Rose, it’s her time to play. Rover watches all of Kitty’s moves. And often retreats if she jumps forward and startles him. She discovers a balloon and it becomes a fun game until … POP!

I picked up on that comment too re Chance ... he certainly is doing everything in his power to become Chance Evans... chief assistant parcel inspector plus permanent checking Uncle Luke's knees arent lonely by spending copious amounts of time sitting looking adoringly at him.

Luke says not all the dogs would be happy if he stayed, but think it's reaching point where his heart would break if he left Luke...
@@harrietj8835 I always trust Luke’s judgement on the dogs and if he says Change would be better off in a smaller pack then I hear him, but I can’t help but want Chance to stay on The Farm too. @judy Rogers I took these comments as maybe his heart and decision is leaning towards Chance staying now since he’s been there so long and his behavior has changed dramatically lately. I do understand that not all dogs will be happy about it, but maybe just maybe they will come around? I don’t know but I always seem to get attached to those that have believed so much in Luke to make those dramatic and drastic changes to be the bestest dogs they can be.♥️♥️
I mean this in the nicest, most beautiful way possible - Diesel reminds me of my little cousin who is on the autism spectrum (and yes, he is obsessed with birds too, sometimes ones that aren't even there❤). He's a beautiful happy boy who sometimes joins in with the family but quite often is happy in his special world. Watching Diesel was such a gorgeous reminder to me that we are all different.
That has also been on my mind, playing alone and everything that brings back to autism.
I know exactly what you mean, my friend’s little boy has ADHD and is high functioning autistic, and he hyper-focuses on birds, too! They live near the beach in South Africa and he is obsessed with the gulls ❤️
I work with asd children and noticed his behaviors straight away too.
Yes we all are, our uniqueness is what makes us all, animal and human kind alike, so amazing.

@Jane He also chatters, my last dog did that half chat/half whining when I came back home after going to the store. It was like he was interrogating me and just so happy I came home he had to speak out about what he had to endure in the 30 minutes I was gone. It was so special to me and I’ve never had a dog do that before or since. My Dozer was also a big boy, part Shepard and possibly part Great Dane. When he stretched out on the bed he was longer that I am, I’m not short either 5’7” I miss him and those conversations after losing him to inoperable bladder cancer. ♥️♥️

I think Diesel will get better being at the Farm, his OCD/anxiety will get better, you can seen the improvements already. Am sure training will help him too. Even Nevaeh improved so much, who would think she would stand still! Time in that wonderful environment to heal should do so much more than medication.

I have to express how appreciative I am of Luke and Sam, putting the dogs' health and needs first in all they do. Even a foster like Diesel - and I pray that the bloodwork and future test do give you the answers to help deal with his condition/issues so he can live an even better life than he is living since moving to the Farm. He may be obsessed with chasing birds but he is happy and it's his delight. I am glad Diesel is also coming around to participate in group activities but his first love is running and chasing the birds.
At 10 mins in, with Wolfie on his red truck, you see a protective hatted shadow hovering over him. What a great dad...
Diesel and his imaginary friends, in every nook, cranny and corner of the Farm buildings. I shouldn't laugh because I believe, as Luke does, that there's some neurological condition underlying his odd behavior. But once again, the Farm has rewarded me with joy, shots of the Elle, Evie and Wolfie going down the driveway on their various vehicles, watching the dogs dig a hole in the sandpile, sweet Sam handing out treats to the doggos (love how Rover did a two-paw hello! after taking his time to sit!). Adore this channel. ❤

I absolutely love those two boys. Every time Luke and Sam would say they were still up for adoption or I can’t believe no one has put in an application for them, I was shocked too. It was definitely not that no one could see them any differently then how Luke and Sam were presenting them. The boys best side was always on display. I was just secretly hoping they would stay on The Farm so I could continue to admire them from afar daily. It was a Christmas present to all of us I felt.♥️♥️

Great little video until the vets visit, where the dogs were so good. when the vet mentioned "liver shunt", my head was immediately full of images of that sweet little Aussie shepherd pup last year, and that heartbreaking video of him hobbling off in the paddock. am crying yet again.

What a sweet face Diesel has, he’s a beautiful boy! This video was the first time I think he actually “relaxed”. He’s a very special boy. He may seem different and that is all right! He’s perfect to all of us here at the extended world wide Farm Family❤
Miss Violet is a fantastic swimmer, her posture in the water is on a expert level. It’s as if she glides on top of the water with her powerful legs. Can’t wait to see Maggie, Hope and Miss Red get their water wings too.
Miss Red swam in the dam (video of parcel opening) Sam commented on it. Could tell from her voice she was so happy and proud, wasnt a big swim but at least was a start. Miss Violet really loves to swim sometimes I hold my breath when the bigger dogs are jumping in around her terrified she will be landed on.
When Kitty Rose popped that balloon, I about jumped out of my skin.....lolololol. I love the fact that Hope has found her person in Sam!! All the pups had their game face on today in the pool!! Tank and Chopper are perfecting their dock jumps after the lure!! Those two have the most beautiful eyes and I feel like I am looking into their soul!! Praying for the best outcome for Maggie's surgery!! She is just the best all around bud to all the dogs!! I hope you guys get answers soon about Diesel.
I noticed Maggie looked like she wasn’t feeling well recently. When she was at rest her face looked like she wasn’t feeling well. Love our dear Maggie. ❤

The way Wolfie stops & studies the poo!😂 and then Elle asking Dad how come he knows so much about animals and then wonders off leaving Luke talking to himself 😂 and little Evie is a 2nd mum to wolfie! Some absolutely gorgeous moments with Dad ❤I guess miss Red was being especially cheeky in that first part given how many times Luke said her name!
I thought that was so funny how Elle lost interest so soon after Luke began his answer, even before he spoke to camera about it, laughing ruefully! She could tell it was going to be too long an answer, going back to prehistoric times when Dad was a boy!

I think you are correct Luke in relation to Diesal. I think it's OCD brought on by continual under stimulation. So very sad for him. But I am totally confident you will get on top of it. He is a beautifully natured dog ❤️ lol Rover such a scardy cat 😁

I love how Rosco just flounders around in the pool making such a splash he can't see a thing that might have landed. Funny boy 😊 What absolute sweethearts Maggie and Diesel were at the vets. And seeing Diesel being such a softie is lovely and being so responsive to affection shows a side to him we don't get to see. Lovely to know it's all in there and his desire for more love and cuddles replaces the love of chasing birds. Lovely video Luke and Sam, Thank you. I stayed awake until 3AM to finish it. I’m not sure why I do this because I’ll just watch it again tomorrow in case I missed something. I guess I’m like Kitty Rose and have a small case of FOMO, like Sam used to describe it. I do have a list of saved Farm videos that I watch at night if there’s not a new video to watch. I find if I watch a Farm video before bed I sleep better, deeper and wake up happier. It like an injection of happiness as I drift off to sleep. Prayers and lots of love being sent for Maggie and Diesel. Elle looked great in her dog shirt and Miss Evie looked pretty in pink! Wolfie is fearless and so much fun to watch. Smart dog Chopper and his dock diving is stunnng! Of course Miss Kitty ends the night on a humorous note fiercely defending her tree. She handled the baloon pop with her usually "I meant to do that" attitude!

Luke is super dad & dogfather! 3 children & pack of dogs & each is so absolutely beautiful & abundant!
