Couldnt agree more with the Pulisic assessment. The issue in my eye is when he plays in the central areas. His job there is to facilitate rather than attack and thats tough for any player who wants to score. Theo is also taking half the corner kicks which isnt helping. That is one aspect, the other is that he was making a ton of through runs this whole season and never getting service. Its infuriating to watch. This team needs to trust him by giving him some service.

So much to agree. Pulisic literally receives the lowest support from his teammates. So many times he goes unnoticed even after screening for the ball & it's costing Milan. Most of Pulisic goals are more of self created ones with individual brilliance and team point of view it's big red flag.
Wish he had atleast 50-60% support which Leo has.

Theo has been the team leader in goal contributions this year--when you factor in opponents' goals. He's extremely effective as an additional striker--a 12th player, if you will--for the other team. In fact, I'm confident that if Theo were a couple of inches taller, he would have headed that ball directly in for the goal as opposed to only assisting De Ketelaere's goal.

Did anyone else notice that 2 months ago is when the PK situation happened? Not trying to read too much into it, but I wonder if that impacted Pulisic's confidence or his service he has been getting from his teammates recently.
Puli did have hot/cold streaks last year, so it does just seem like a similar trend this time. But then again, he is still showing up in the champions league - so it's not like he hasn't scored in any competition in two months at least. He will bounce back. Great video Kush! 🔴⚫

Pulisic should not be playing in CONCACAF unless it is a World Cup game or a World Cup qualifier (which doesn’t even apply for 2026). His ability to re-write the book on American players in Europe opens up so many chances for other US players. That is how he can best help the USMNT.

But to your point I think he feels like he has to do more scoring and that may be why he didn’t lay the ball off to Reinders last game and took the shot.

Milan has a catch 22 with Pulisic unfortunately. We need him as the settling force in the 10 role connecting the attack to the midfield, as we saw with RLC there is no replacement for that. Unfortunately he is also better (numbers wise) as a winger.. Pulisic is a player that thrives in space when he can cut in and play direct.. much harder to do that when in the heart of the opposition defense

I disagree with your assessment on the Coach. Ultimate accountability lies with the Management for a Team’s results, and this lies with Fonseca especially contrasting the results of the team compared to last season.
Further, some teams have progressed from last season (even marginally) whilst Milan has taken significant steps back. I feel us Milan fans are lashing out not to demand immediate wins, but to stop this hemorrhage before Milan descends into a mid-table club and have the same fate as Roma (no offense).
The club is a Champion. It plays to win and compete for the top, not to win Top 4 (if you can even call it that”win”). I am contemplating going on strike and not spending an incremental Euro for the sake of this management, my pride and love for this team cannot stand to see this continue.

Looking at this team progress from week by week shown that the progress actually there, but not yet for the result. We will find some struggle this season and might only finished at 6-7 place on the table. But I have some confident that we will manage to find some "click" play before season ends. They lack of consistency is our issue. Last season with Pioli we have a solid point in league, but I think the way with poor game play, we have a lot of times where we get 3 points by displaying poor performance and get good results by scoring from screamic, late goals, moving just by fighting spirit, etc, without actually playing good performance.
What Fonseca build so Far for me looks like he built the base playing system for this team and manage to find what is the best game play we should use. He even give some player new task week to week. Like we seen different Rafael Leao task, continously looking for balancing right flank, find the best model for Pulisic, and the game play itself. Rewatch the Real Madrid game. Theo was not dialed in at all during that game. As I have written about elsewhere, Ancelotti made a tactical error by allowing his right-side offensive players to do what they like to do, which is to immediately cut inward from the right side. Everyone did that, including Mbappe, when he roamed to that side. All of this allowed Theo to just sort of hang out (as he always does) because the guy with the ball would soon cut in and be someone else's responsibility. And then, with the defense packed in and little vertical space, Real Madrid constantly ran into traffic. Ancelotti should have targeted Theo and instructed his right-side players to go around the outside of Theo before cutting in or delivering the ball. Because Ancelotti did not, Theo couldn't be blamed for much. Well actually, remember very late in the game, both Militao and Diaz nearly scored when Theo let them go by unmarked.

How often do we lose chance of counter attacking because RLC carries the ball for too long and then gets fouled instead of passing? I would say about 100% of the time.
Emerson Royal is getting spun left, right and center, firstly you have to put Musah ih play just to help him and after Musah went out Fofana was trying to help him, just take someone from Primavera because they can't possibly be any worse.
Fonseca has been here long enough to establish defensive shape but he hasn't done it, constantly changing your center back pairing also doesn't help.
I don't even blame Emerson for being this shit, he should have never been bought even for 3mil let alone 18mil, Tottenham fans were celebrating when they heard that some idiots are interested in him, he is legit serie b mid-table level player.

There is not guarantee obviously, but it is one thing if you question Pioli´s ability to go to win the scudetto regularly and another to get top 4 with this team which he has proven repeatedly. At this point we should move Pulisic out to the right wing again and go to a 4-3-3 more solid defensively and let’s leao and Pulisic work out side and make their goals

Pulisic hurt is a problem.. chuck is so one footed that it’s embarrassing, we need a true number 9 at transfer and hopefully CP will be back by then. Meanwhile, I hope leao, TR, & Musah continue their good form. Side note: I still think Musah should get a run at RB, he has the skill, pace, and aggression to play the role.

  • @Minidorf2210

I hate to say this, but I think CP’s issue is the positioning. I think CP was stronger on the R flank. I was trying to give him some time to acclimate to the #10 position, but he just hasn’t been performing the same as he was before!
He goes through cycles like Leao does (where he vacillates between going on hot streaks and then seems to cool off). Hopefully, if/when he comes back from his injury he’ll have a fire under him again! I’m just hoping the injury isn’t too bad.
But I agree with you, Milan needs CP to show up in Serie A, not just in the Champion’s League!

    Level Headed Kush >>
Also, the thing that frustrates me the most is the fact we have all of this talk about spending smart, stretching the dollar, wanting to win but yet if you put the two sides of Ac Milan vs Atalanta, which overall squad are you taking? We might have a couple more players who have world class potential, but we have no depth. Atalanta is a squad built to win, built for the coach, and we are sitting here with players who don't fit our system and don't raise the level of quality.
I've been level about the management, I believe they have made some phenomenal purchases, but when you look at the overall squad building and choices on some players, times like these really magnify how big of mistakes they have made. Still no backup LB for Theo, 15 million spent on a downgrade at RB, no midfield depth, mediocre coach. This is a crucial January, they either show they want us to be a winning team, or they continue to push a fake narrative.

I started out thinkng this ownership was being austere with the finances and sporting side in order to build a foundation for an ambitious project that is due. Right now I have the feeling that gerry is regreting the exposure to this circus called italian calcio and italian beaurocracy. It was a rough knock to his calf, it didn't seem like it was due to over work. If there's deep bruising its important to not force it bc its right in the soft spot in the calf muscle. Our problem as a team is that we're always dependent on one player being unplayable thenwhen they cool off we drop points if someone else doesn't step up. We're a poorly built team, so we need to stop putting all the pressure on any single player whether it be leao, puli, or tiji. Management needs to be reshuffled, demoted, fired, etc. I don't blame Fonseca.

I'm not happy with how this season is progressing but I'm not in full outrage mode either.
#1 Milan need a quality striker between Morata and Camarda. Abraham isn't it and they should go all in for Jonathan David. I'd make a go for him in January and try to convince him to sign before he becomes a free agent in the summer. It likely won't work but he's been my top target for this team for 2 years now.
#2 Try to get Diaz back from Madrid. He's not playing every game, in the prime of his career and he knows he's succeed on this team before. That puts Pulisic back on the right side of attack fixing that issues as well.
#3 You've got to fix the defense. I like Thiaw and Tomori but unless Thiaw becomes the top CB that Milan hoped he could be when they signed him or Tomori reverts back to the defender he was in our Scudetto season one needs to be replaced. I like them both better than Pavlovic but he isn't going anywhere since they just brought him in.
#4 Right back. Royal hasn't been good to say the least. Give Jimenez and Terracciano a shot at the spot. I don't know why Milan is afraid to give younger players the opportunity.
Unfortunately I think Theo is uninspired and needs a spark. Having a team that he believes can win titles and make an impact in the UCL I think would turn his game around.

    • @nucleus14reticularis
      @nucleus14reticularis Месяц назад

I think you are referring to Theo as "some of the best left-side players," and that is incorrect. Fonseca is not the #1 problem; he's the 2nd biggest problem in that he enables Theo by giving Theo the captain's armband and a ton of playing time. It seems to me that someone above Fonseca is commanding Fonseca to do this, when it is extremely clear and simple that Theo is the #1 player culprit (not Emerson, who is the #2 player culprit). In other words, the team may be able to win games with Emerson but will have an even lower probability of winning whenever Theo is on the field. He is useless, because he is not needed at all for offense (not on this team and not even on the French national team) and he refuses to put any amount of effort at all on defense. He is a randomly roaming player on the left who's net effect is reducing his team's left-side defense by one player, which equates to purposefully sabotaging your own team every single game he's on the field. If Fonseca is fired, do you think the next coach will dare bench Theo? And benching Theo they MUST do, if they want a chance to win consistently. But they will not do, not Fonseca or his replacement. The analysis is really that simple.

If Fonseca is fired, do you think the next coach will dare bench Theo? And benching Theo they MUST do, if they want a chance to win consistently. But they will not do, not Fonseca or his replacement. Upper management is a huge problem. Milan needs someone like Maldini who can guide the players, work alongside with the coach. Ibra is too egoistic and moves around like a boss rather than focusing to get the best out of the players. Moncada, furlani are more like scouts. I think the proposal to let Maldini work as a advisor rather than technical director could have been a perfect one. I don't think he walked out because of demoting him but because the management were against investing heavily.

The numbers don't lie, extreme problems need extreme solutions. We need an almost complete turnover on the management side, a heavy turnover on the players side to raise funds and because of lack of quality or attitude. Finally, Fonseca has to go and be replaced with a quality manager. What fonseca did in this match was utterly disgraceful, he showed his cowardice and mediocrity as a coach. Milan's strategy on the second half was so blatant that it was almost palpable. The team came out the second half to circulate the ball without purpose, clearly looking not to attack and get the draw. That does not happen organically, those were orders from fonseca. What did we get for it? another fucking loss.

As soon as man to man pressure comes on any of these players they cut towards our defense and play the ball back!
