      How can these brushes be good? All they do is vibrate. The oral b pro brush heads actually move.

  • @swisstrader

    Just bought this thing a couple weeks ago…never thought a simple toothbrush change would change my entire view of my dental care, but this thing is crazy good. Make my Oral B feel like complete crappola. Also switched to doing a water pik which does so much more than flossing a def more fun.
    Side bar, all those modes of cleaning are pretty meaningless as are all the different brush heads. Just stick with normal or deep cleaning modes.

    Be careful the 9300 model from Target doesnt come with a USB charger even though it sells in stores for $229.00 US. See EZvids wiki on RUclips where this was rated the # 1 electric toothbrush there but had USB charger.

    Why is battery life important? Don't people put it in that charging glass after each brush?

    • @ElectricTeeth

      +Mike V no not always. They may not have power in the bathroom. They may travel and not want to take the charger (although this has a charger case).

      It's not a good idea to keep a lithium-ion battery constantly charged as it shortens the life span of your battery.

    • @yodamunkey
      @yodamunkey 6 лет назад

      Lithium-ion batteries have a built-in circuit that prevents them from reaching 100% or 0% (which would kill it). Maybe if you were trying to keep your toothbrush for a couple decades you could avoid charging it all the way and try to keep the charge in the 50% area at all times. By then Skynet will either be brushing our teeth for us or will have long since slain us all. :)

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  4 года назад +1

      The reality is that it is always changing because I am generally always testing something new.
      I am still using the iO Series 9 at the moment. The fallback I have in my bathroom is the Oral-B Smart 5 5000, but that is only because I can. I had it spare. I don't use the extra modes generally speaking.
      For family and friends, I buy the Pro 2 2500.

    Hi, I was wondering how hard you have to press for the pressure sensor to activate? I haven't had my brush flash at all even when I press a bit harder. Thanks.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  3 года назад

      It is hard to explain. You don't need to press really hard, but fairly firmly.
      A way to try it, is turn the toothbrush on when out of the mouth. Press your finger against the neck of the brush head fairly firmly and it should activate.

    • @floatingclouds1
      @floatingclouds1 3 года назад

      @@ElectricTeeth understood. I've been trying to get it to activate but haven't seen anything so far. I don't want to press too hard. Is it possible to make a short video demonstration of activating the pressure sensor? Just so I can see how hard I should be pressing.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  3 года назад

      I wonder if the pressure sensor has some how been deactivated. It is possible. The following link takes you to the user manual which has instructions on how to turn it on/off. Hello. I have question. What is the difference between models? 99xxx? I was looking at model 9924/47 and 9903/03 and i am confused because the prices are different and i cannot see any differences ? Are those only different packages or are there any other differences? Thank you..

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  4 года назад

      What country do you live in/buying from? The differences can be quite subtle. I want to check your market so I can give clear information.
      I think it is the handle colour, and different charging cases.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  6 лет назад

      If you are living in the UK, don't worry about the 9500 model number. This may appear on the box, but is not so important.
      There are 3 variants here in the UK:
      HX9924/44 - DiamondClean Smart in Cashmere Grey (no brush head holder) - RRP £360
      HX9924/14 - DiamondClean Smart in Black (no brush head holder) - RRP £360
      HX9954/53 - DiamondClean Smart - Premium in Lunar Blue (1 x brush head holder included) - RRP £380
      I am not sure where you have seen 6500? There is an Oral-B 6500 or a Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 is that what you mean?

  • @stephenyork98
    @stephenyork98 6 лет назад

    Do the intensity modes make that much of a difference? I have a diamond clean, but I’m thinking of upgrading to the smart simply for the different intensity modes. Do you think it’s worth it to be able to change the intensity?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  6 лет назад

      We would not advising upgrading just for the intensity settings alone. They are noticeable differences between each intensity and they can be helpful,but if you want a lower powered mode just select one of the different cleaning modes on your current brush.

    What's the difference between the hx 9954/53 model and the hx9924/14 apart from the big price difference?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  5 лет назад

      Hi Jason.
      So these are 2 different variants.
      The key difference is colour and box contents.
      The HX9954/53 is the most premium variant of the DiamondClean Smart and toothbrush in the whole Sonicare range.
      It is available in a Lunar Blue colour, that is not available on any other brush. It comes with a brush head storage compartment, that holds 4 brush heads.
      The HX9924/14 is the slightly cheaper, but still vary capable and feature rich toothbrush. The handle is black in colour and you do not get a brush head storage compartment in the box.

    • @jasonwilliams3721
      @jasonwilliams3721 5 лет назад

      Electric Teeth ok thanks so really your just getting a toothbrush holder and a different colour for £258 instead of £160? I’m gonna wait til Black Friday and see how prices are then.. thanks for your reply

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  5 лет назад

      Essentially, yes.
      The discounted prices Sonicare are offering are pretty good. Black Friday may bring some extra savings but can't say for sure.

      @ElectricTeeth  5 лет назад

      There are quite a few different variants of the Sonicare DiamondClean Smart, each of which have their own model numbers.
      The one in this review is: HX9924/14
      But others include:
      HX9901/14 - DiamondClean Smart 9100 in Black (4 brushing modes, no brush head holder, no travel case and only 1 brush head)
      HX9924/44 - DiamondClean Smart in Cashmere Grey (no brush head holder)
      HX9924/14 - DiamondClean Smart in Black (no brush head holder)
      HX9954/53 - DiamondClean Smart - Premium in Lunar Blue (1 x brush head holder included)

      In terms of technical performance, yes the DiamondClean Smart is better. But once you account for price, we rate the Genius 9000 / 9100s as the better choice. We write about this more in this comparison: www.electricteeth.co.uk/oral-b-genius-9000-vs-sonicare-diamondclean-smart/ which refers to the 9000, but the 9100s is almost the same as that, except for the box contents

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  7 лет назад +1

      We cannot say 100% whether the internals have been changed, it is however likely that any faults or issues with the last generation will have been addressed as best as possible to avoid such issues with this model.

  • @richarda6602
    @richarda6602 6 лет назад +1

    It's a great toothbrush, but not only is it super expensive, they also break often and are not set up to be repaired by the user so Philips expects you to plop down hundreds of dollars for a new one every couple of years. If money is no object, go for it, but otherwise I'd recommend shopping around.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  6 лет назад

      Hi RIchard. Have you had one of these break on you? They come with a 2 year warranty, so if it fails, it should be repaired or replaced within this time.

    • @richarda6602
      @richarda6602 6 лет назад

      I have had 3 break on me. First was mine and outside of warranty. The head got all floppy. I bought a new one and that head also got floppy just a little after 2 years of owning it. I luckily was able to get that one replaced and it is working okay so far although I had the button stop working but was able to clean around it to get it going again. My Wife's has now died though and her's is about 3 years old so again outside of warranty. The button on hers works, but the device doesn't turn on. It makes a very small vibration at just the moment you press the button. Tried resetting and making sure it was completely charged. Nothing helps so now we are at a crossroads on whether we want to plop down hundreds more on a toothbrush that is great, but obviously not made well.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  6 лет назад

      Richard. Sorry to hear this. By the age of your brushes, it sounds like this might be the 'DiamondClean' and not the new 'DiamondClean Smart' which I believe to have addressed any faults of previous versions, but I can understand your point of view given your experience.

    • @richarda6602
      @richarda6602 6 лет назад +2

      Yes, they were the Diamond Clean. Not sure if faults were addressed or not on the new models. Yeah, they integrated bluetooth and smart tech into the brush heads, but that doesn't mean they redesigned or strengthened the mechanical components that have been failing. They do have a decent 2 year warranty, but they're so expensive that I find it challenging to justify possibly spending this much every 2-3 years.
