I couldn't imagine going through the whole race standing on a motorcycle. You could never sit down as your legs are part of the suspension system and are living shock absorbers. Even the 4-wheelers get to sit every now and then! Plus you're supposed to be self reliant and get yourself out of troubled spots, whereas the 4 wheeled vehicles support each other. That's a tough ride!
Yes 2 wheels in any sport more skill balls than 4 wheels

I get the impression American trophy trucks would dominate this event. The vehicles I've seen don't seem that capable or as durable as a trophy truck.
Only way to find out is enter one in next year's Dakar
@@pauldixon3089I don't think they are allowed. I'm not 100% sure but I think the rules for Dakar are strict and they limit suspension travel and some other stuff.

Kamaz owns the market of light all-terrain trucks for civil and military use across ex-USSR and may get into the some developing countries too… Kamaz is happy, I believe. The Dakar spectators - not. Especially, Arabs and Africans, who like desert rallying and don’t give much care about “civilized world’s” opinion. Another case is: have a look at Hilux in Dakar. Would you really think it shares at least 20% of anything with Hiluxes in oil field or coconut farm?
