This movie deserves so much more than it got. It is actually so good. Years later I still come back to it. Really glad my biology teacher showed it to me in high school
One of the greatest Sci-Fi movies of all time. Ethan Hawke and Jude Law are at their absolute best!
I always had a feeling that Anton was humbled by the drowning incident. And after Vincent left, Anton became an investigator in order to find where he went. He didn't believe that Vincent died so easily and he was just worried. After hearing about the Invalid's identity, his hope was renewed and all he wanted was to get his brother back. Vincent, however, doesn't believe that Anton changed which is why he's so aggressive.
The two brothers were agressive
I think there's a part when they are boys and Vincent is setting up the model of the planets in the parking lot Anton mentions he might want to be a detective.
Anton prequel series/origin story.
With tears in his eyes, Ethan didn't f@cking blink ONCE....
👏
It's sad how underappreciated this movie is. I had actually never heard of it until tonight! Just finished watching it..... It's actually an inspirational movie. Motivational as well. I loved it!
Same ! Just watched it on Netflix and it’s an amazing movie
This has always been my favorite movie. I grew up thinking I had a learning disability. Dirt poor, having to work sixteen hour days to help my family. Worked tirelessly, uneducated, fel in love with someone I didn't belong with. They beat the crap out of me to make me stay away from her. One day there was a job fair. I lied. Lied so blatantly no one believed I was lying. Ten years and I only misspelled one word in my reports. I was the best . I deserved everything I got. If you were educated and born with a silver spoon it's not the commoners fault he's better than you. Now I check with all my old flames. Sad but they wish me back. Sad, I wished I was. But not anymore. I don't have a heart anymore. Just hunger.
bro they showed this to every biology student in my high school
i swear this plot twist was so good
Vincent has something that is difficult of not impossible to teach. It's heart, the ability to keep going no matter what the circumstances. That's how he can beat his bigger, stronger, more athletic brother.
Ironic because they said he had a 1/100 chance of living because of his heart problem
Gattaca is such a great film. I watched it in one of my film classes!
Beautiful movie
I saw this movie and Titanic in the same year. This is the movie that always stayed with me.
Highly underrated movie. One of my favorites to watch.
Wow Ethan looks so good here.
There is still a few Million miles left to go...
This movie was ahead of it's time.
One of the best movies of all time. The story, the acting, the music, cinematography, etc. All 10/10
Anton: you didn't beat me, I beat myself.
Vincent: That's not important, it's forgotten!
Are we brothers?
Literal meaning: there was never a sense of brotherhood between us.
Figurative: You were created in a lab and I was created by God.
There’s still a few million miles left to go:
Literally: there was a lot of work to do.
Figuratively: I have to travel to a far distant moon. Millions of miles away.
God! Even you are gonna tell me what I can and can’t do now?
Literally: Vincent was always held back by his mother in fear of him unintentionally making his weak immune system break. The chief cleaner as well. He couldn’t stand another person saying it to him.
Figuratively: His DNA has been in his mind all the time telling him he can’t go to Jupiter’s moon. A constant battle he fought in his head. Hearing voices telling him that he can’t was aggravated by Anton’s behavior.
are we brothers ?... just shows that Jerome was more of a brother to Vincent then Anton who was blood related because he did not have faith on him either he thought Vincent would be helpless without him
Are we brothers?
What a best acting ever i have seen...
This movie made the news as CRISPR technology was made and making this movie the new reality.
Hello There! 👍🏼
Ahhh General Kenobi
Hey why'd you let the prequels suck. I won't blame you for the others.
I thought this was a great movie.
Totally!
Anton's jealousy consumes him. Ironic.
So relevant in 2023 Bay Area!
Are we brothers, Francis?
The real Pride does not come from genetic Instrumentalization, the real Pride comes from Cultivation, and in the darwinistic Sociology, it may raise up who might rise up, but are we prepared, or is it this, and then, suddenly, that ? Who is giving hold, since when, and against whom ?
