  • Peter Andrew had the honor of being invited to speak at the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) in Fort Lauderdale this past fall. The topic was "On the training of his son, Michael Andrew." Peter never passes on an opportunity to speak on that that he is so passionate about. Thanks again to John Leonard and ASCA for the opportunity!
Get to know what makes Team Andrew tick in an open and transparent talk that explains in detail how Peter approached the training of his son Michael Andrew leading up to World Champion and beyond.

Fascinating stuff, I think I have been training myself to swim slow. I do a lot of work on technique but very little speed training, so I am going to give this USRPT a try. I have a high stroke rate so I really think it's how my body wants to swim anyways. I'll check back in a month or two and tell you how I went :P

Michael began training with weights sometime after this, and continues to do so as of this comment being posted. 🙂

Very interesting and well explained! Question: how does Michael practice his turns for the 100? 25s don't have turns in them :)
