And that's the promise and good news for us that we and all of our loved ones will be resurrected when Jesus returns.

He would have been a father & grandfather now...so much life and love to experience, left this world way to too soon and my heart truly goes out to his family and loved ones. It's so sad, they were practically babies. RIP to a hero and a brave extraordinary man who fought and served our country. And RIP to all those people you presented us too on this video. Lamont I completely agree.U.K. No longer allow animals to be used in circuses. ENGLAND. In July 2019, the UK government passed a law banning the the use of wild animals in travelling circuses in England. The ban came into force on 20th January 2020.
Lamont, you do a great job. Here is what i found ( pertaining to Mr. Severs )from the newspaper called “The Charlotte News” from November 24, 1915. The paper states that the train was waiting for another train to pass but instead it plowed into the back of the waiting train and the victims were in the smoker car which was the very last car.
I worked at a local nursing home a few years back and there was a lady there I think in her 80s with the same last name. She told me that her father, a Mr. Severs owned alot of land and sold some of it and it became what is now know near downtown Charlotte as Seversville.
I was the pilot on the HEMS transport for Mr. Giurk. I remember because it took rescuers some time to move him from the accident to a location nearby where I could land. As the medical crew was stabilizing him and it was clear he was in very bad shape. I’m sorry to hear he didn’t make it.
I park next to this cemetery all the time and never would’ve guessed it was that huge from the outside. And you did a great job telling the history of those laid to rest. Great job and thank you for showing off the history of my city!

Exactly! I do genealogy and just by chance I happen to live around the corner from the cemetery my 4th great aunt and one of her daughters (with her husband and daughter) are in. We had my aunt's stone fixed by a cemetarian because what we thought was a flat in ground marker was actually standing up at one point. He said whatever they used to attach the stone to the base back then probably just gave out one day and the stone toppled over and that anyone who would've visited the grave had probably passed on themselves so it just went unnoticed until we came along.

It really means alot to me that you pay respects to our fallen service members. It's also very touching you say the names of people who have died so long ago, there is no one alive who knows them. There's no telling the last time their names were spoken. Very touching.

I had three brothers who went to fight in Vietnam. The way they were treated when they came home is why I say the same thing to every Vietnam Vet I see, “Thank you for your service. And welcome home.” I can’t tell you how many of them tear up because they’re glad to finally be recognized for their service.
I thoroughly enjoyed your trip through historic Elm Wood cemetery. There’s so much forgotten history within each cemetery that’s lost because we view cemeteries as places off limits to the living unless we are bringing in the dead. Among Charlotte’s older churches there are cemeteries located at the churches. History is so important to pass down through the generations and you sir are a wonderful Raconteur!

It's been a long time sense you've done a walking cemetery tour and told the deaths of the people. The first video I ever watched was one like this. Just ordinary people living ordinary lives, the only thing they have in common is that they've passed on. I really like these videos. I know family members appreciate their loved ones are remembered. Just random people and talking about what he could find online about them. It wasn't later till he did the famous, infamous, and true crime. I've been following since almost the beggining.

When Lamont talked about the boy that was on the lake in a tube really made me sad. So many times Summer after summer we’d go camping and boating for weeks and every weekend as well. Waterskiing and tubing was such a fun part of my childhood and my kids and many many more kids and even adults not knowing this could of been anyone of us. My dad drove his boats and had a few beers and it was nothing to jump on the back in a tube. I’m so glad I didn’t drink and drive but so many loved ones did. So sad for this young man. But I don’t feel so bad for the 58 year old that got charged. IMO.
Typically narrow channels are off-limits to skiing or tubing that’s probably why he got arrested he’s definitely negligent I am a boater of many years towing skiers and wake borders and tubers. Here in California the law is you have to have clearance of double the length of rope out to any obstacle that was Lake Shasta the boat sheriff told me this.
There are a few lakes in Charlotte NC and SC areas. Mostly very wealthy people live at the lakes. You can look online at the weekly arrest in the summer. Lots of rich people are arrested and have tickets for operating boats and equipment while drunk.
Lamont thanks for coming to Charlotte and covering Elmwood/Pinewood cemetery! This cemetery used to be segregated and of you went to the right side of the cemetery on the other side of the drive you will see some more historical people also!

Lamont I looked up the story of the attack on David King. As an animal lover I'm sorry to say that Mr King got what he deserved. Chief must have been an adult when he was captured. He would fight and disobey the trainers commands. For which he suffered severe torture. They would tie him to trees beat, stab him with spears build fires under his belly as punishment even the other elephants would abuse him. After he kill David King he sent to the Connecticut Zoo. Where his abuse may have continued. He would throw bricks at the zoo staff. They decided to kill him. The drew a circle on him where they thought his heart was and shot him. As if that wasn't enough they had him slaughtered and sold Chief stakes to the local restaurants, and pulled his remains through the streets of Cincinnati. The death of David King is sad. But in my opinion all the time of these people got what the deserved. Back then no one cared about the mistreatment of animals.

He had a mobile bar to do a lot of drinking and partying so maybe he was a heavy smoker also and every so often his murderous ghostly spirit might come out of that tomb for a drinka and a cigarette.
I really enjoyed hearing these stories of the graves that you visited. These people's lives varied alot in terms of lifestyles, money and circumstances. It's infuriating to hear how some people literally get away with murder due to money and connections. How did his girlfriend get like that if it was just the two of them? She certainly didn't beat herself to death! It's sad really, but he did not live that long after the incident. Creepy man. Also agree with others about animals being forced to perform in circuses. At least the thinking on this has changed a bit for the better. Thanks again , Lamont!
Any place in the US like the Buffalo or Cleveland area will happily let you get away with murder if you've got the wherewithal. The Black Dahlia killer left Cleveland for LA and only did the one infamous act before his family squirreled him away in a mental institution so Eliot Ness couldn't get him.

The video today struck a chord with me twice. Speaking of the man who lost his life in Vietnam made me think of one of my brothers who served over there for a year. We were fortunate and blessed to get him back in one piece. And then I was reminded of my father who served in WWII; once again our father one came back in one piece and sound of mind. He was stationed in France, I believe. That was before I was born, and I'm very thankful he made it back. Another great job, Lamont! Thank you for sharing your time with us.

Thank you for saying how our veterans were/are treated when returning from combat. My dad was in the Navy. Many of our family friends were Vietnam veterans. One friend was a SeaBee and had multiple bouts of cancer as he was part of the group that worked with Agent Orange. My sister is an Army vet that lives with PTSD. Thank you for honoring them. 🙂

I love that you do this Lamont, great stories of these people that are buried there. When you go to Pennsylvania, my Uncle, grandparents and my great Aunt are buried in Edgewood Memorial park in Morton. My uncle was a famous tattoo artist in Upper Darby Pa in the late 60s and early 70s and he also did a famous folk singer Jim Crose's rose tattoo on his chest. My uncle was shot and killed at a robbery in his tattoo shop in 1975, I never got to meet him.
It just hit me while watching your video that my cousin was drafted and went to Vietnam and then when his tour was over he reenlisted after his second tour he would go out of his mind every now and then. I never thought about his behavior I just accepted it. Now I know he had PTSD. He got throat cancer from agent orange. He had radiation therapy but it weakened his heart and he suddenly died. His brother had went to the store and came back and he had passed away.
It blows my mind even if it's an accident that people are charged. My mother backed over my daughter in the Driveway and killed her. I would of been devastated if they would of arrested her and charged her.. Accidents do happen its part of being human.. Our justice system is bogus almost unreal at times.

The Vietnam veterans - Rambo 1 First Blood is a dramatic reminder about how the returning soldiers were treated and how it affected them.
Blanket term for PTSD was Shell Shock, I remember that being tossed around in the early 70's. Great Video as always

It really means alot to me that you pay respects to our fallen service members. It's also very touching you say the names of people who have died so long ago, there is no one alive who knows them. There's no telling the last time their names were spoken. Very touching.

@@lovelyrich54 it was a chemical defoliant used in the Vietnam war. It caused cancer and health problems to practically anyone who went near it, and their children.
I had three brothers who went to fight in Vietnam. The way they were treated when they came home is why I say the same thing to every Vietnam Vet I see, “Thank you for your service. And welcome home.” I can’t tell you how many of them tear up because they’re glad to finally be recognized for their service.
I thoroughly enjoyed your trip through historic Elm Wood cemetery. There’s so much forgotten history within each cemetery that’s lost because we view cemeteries as places off limits to the living unless we are bringing in the dead. Among Charlotte’s older churches there are cemeteries located at the churches. History is so important to pass down through the generations and you sir are a wonderful Raconteur!

I agree! Our young men that fought in the Vietnam War were not given a nice homecoming! These men did fight for our country 😒, like all the other wars. Plus, I agree wild animals should be left in the wild! Cat,s and dogs should not be eaten. Also, animals killed for their fur. Leave animals alone!❤ Stay safe Lamont!

It's been a long time sense you've done a walking cemetery tour and told the deaths of the people. The first video I ever watched was one like this. Just ordinary people living ordinary lives, the only thing they have in common is that they've passed on. I really like these videos. I know family members appreciate their loved ones are remembered. @@jsrcamp I sure do! I love that he goes all over the country. When Lamont very first started this channel, it was pretty much what you watched in this video. Just random people and talking about what he could find online about them. It wasn't later till he did the famous, infamous, and true crime. I've been following since almost the beggining.

When Lamont talked about the boy that was on the lake in a tube really made me sad. So many times Summer after summer we’d go camping and boating for weeks and every weekend as well. Waterskiing and tubing was such a fun part of my childhood and my kids and many many more kids and even adults not knowing this could of been anyone of us. My dad drove his boats and had a few beers and it was nothing to jump on the back in a tube. I’m so glad I didn’t drink and drive but so many loved ones did. So sad for this young man. But I don’t feel so bad for the 58 year old that got charged. IMO.
Typically narrow channels are off-limits to skiing or tubing that’s probably why he got arrested he’s definitely negligent I am a boater of many years towing skiers and wake borders and tubers. Here in California the law is you have to have clearance of double the length of rope out to any obstacle that was Lake Shasta the boat sheriff told me this.

There are a few lakes in Charlotte NC and SC areas. Mostly very wealthy people live at the lakes. You can look online at the weekly arrest in the summer. Lots of rich people are arrested and have tickets for operating boats and equipment while drunk.

Lamont I looked up the story of the attack on David King. As an animal lover I'm sorry to say that Mr King got what he deserved. Chief must have been an adult when he was captured. He would fight and disobey the trainers commands. For which he suffered severe torture. They would tie him to trees beat, stab him with spears build fires under his belly as punishment even the other elephants would abuse him. After he kill David King he sent to the Connecticut Zoo. Where his abuse may have continued. He would throw bricks at the zoo staff. They decided to kill him. The drew a circle on him where they thought his heart was and shot him. As if that wasn't enough they had him slaughtered and sold Chief stakes to the local restaurants, and pulled his remains through the streets of Cincinnati. The death of David King is sad. But in my opinion all the time of these people got what the deserved. Back then no one cared about the mistreatment of animals.

He had a mobile bar to do a lot of drinking and partying so maybe he was a heavy smoker also and every so often his murderous ghostly spirit might come out of that tomb for a drinka and a cigarette.

I really enjoyed hearing these stories of the graves that you visited. These people's lives varied alot in terms of lifestyles, money and circumstances. It's infuriating to hear how some people literally get away with murder due to money and connections. How did his girlfriend get like that if it was just the two of them? She certainly didn't beat herself to death! It's sad really, but he did not live that long after the incident. Creepy man. Also agree with others about animals being forced to perform in circuses. At least the thinking on this has changed a bit for the better. Thanks again , Lamont!
Any place in the US like the Buffalo or Cleveland area will happily let you get away with murder if you've got the wherewithal. The Black Dahlia killer left Cleveland for LA and only did the one infamous act before his family squirreled him away in a mental institution so Eliot Ness couldn't get him.

The video today struck a chord with me twice. Speaking of the man who lost his life in Vietnam made me think of one of my brothers who served over there for a year. We were fortunate and blessed to get him back in one piece. And then I was reminded of my father who served in WWII; once again our father one came back in one piece and sound of mind. He was stationed in France, I believe. That was before I was born, and I'm very thankful he made it back. Another great job, Lamont! Thank you for sharing your time with us.

Isn't that something, 9/11/61. An evil man who had the woman's son help him carry his mother's dead body back into her house, what nerve! I hope this young man got some help after doing this.. He was a kid who was bullied by an adult who knew better. It's amazing what the rich can get away with. But this may only lived 4yrs after the woman he murdered, he's paying for his crimes anyway.. Thank you for saying how our veterans were/are treated when returning from combat. My dad was in the Navy. Many of our family friends were Vietnam veterans. One friend was a SeaBee and had multiple bouts of cancer as he was part of the group that worked with Agent Orange. My sister is an Army vet that lives with PTSD. Thank you for honoring them. 🙂

My dad’s mom died from Tuberculosis on Christmas Day when my dad was only 5 years old. So tragic.

I love that you do this Lamont, great stories of these people that are buried there. When you go to Pennsylvania, my Uncle, grandparents and my great Aunt are buried in Edgewood Memorial park in Morton. My uncle was a famous tattoo artist in Upper Darby Pa in the late 60s and early 70s and he also did a famous folk singer Jim Crose's rose tattoo on his chest. My uncle was shot and killed at a robbery in his tattoo shop in 1975, I never got to meet him.

It just hit me while watching your video that my cousin was drafted and went to Vietnam and then when his tour was over he reenlisted after his second tour he would go out of his mind every now and then. I never thought about his behavior I just accepted it. Now I know he had PTSD. He got throat cancer from agent orange. He had radiation therapy but it weakened his heart and he suddenly died. His brother had went to the store and came back and he had passed away.

It blows my mind even if it's an accident that people are charged. My mother backed over my daughter in the Driveway and killed her. I would of been devastated if they would of arrested her and charged her.. Accidents do happen its part of being human.. Our justice system is bogus almost unreal at times.
