When I read Minnie's book back in summer of 2022, I was actually camping in Malibu, but the crazy part was when I paused and looked around it was the area which she describes in the book. I loved that, as I also loved the book, and have been a fan of her for a very, very long time. She has always been the chick I want to come back as, well her or Sade. Lol ..

Thank you for all of this. Incredible how grief comes at us but we have no known way to confront or organize it.
I made my mother a rose gold posey ring not long before she died (she requested the idea and left the execution up to me ), and when I eventually received it back I engraved “love my memory *remember my love” on the inside as a kind of memento mori.

WOW! The whole shebang right here. Great work about the worst & best stuff about the dead still wrestling within you. And the importance of wearing black to signal your raw state...Just thank you both.

It appears to me that the rebirth she experienced for herself at the passing of her mother was a fundamental role change. She would no longer perform the part of a daughter, a role that was clearly foundational for her and I suppose it is for most of us. I still have one of my parents and I can only imagine the existential crossroads that are ahead thanks in part to what you have shared here. Thank you for acting, or rather continuing to act, as an emotional surrogate. It's what artists do, isn't it?
