I have to wake up in 3 hours and the only thing that can get my fucked up brain to sleep is resting at this bonfire. Majula will always be my comfort place. The waves lazily lapping up against the sheer cliffs. A golden sun shimmers brilliantly on an infinite horizon. The warm light of the bonfire as it crackles and shimmers calmly. Started my 1000th playthrough of this game just the other day, this game is so magical to me as it's the first (i played) and favorite of a series that I hold so dear, and everytime I start a new playthrough I swear 10 hours of my actual playtime is just spent in majula listening to it all. Hopefully this video can fix that problem LOL
Ah good old times. There is nothing that will beat Dark Souls 2 as being on the top spot for me. This game was just so great for its time and still is even today, at least for me. Best nostalgic music and locations.

I wrote off DS2 for YEARS because of the public view on it; after finally playing it, it's been a fkn staple memory in gaming with me! Absolute diamond in the rough
ds2 was the first one I played, and its my favorite. Perhaps it gets a bad rap because it was overhyped before release. Or maybe its just that the first souls game you play feels like the best.
My fav souls game. The first one i ever played and i played it on ps3 and had psn account issues so i played it entirely offline with no help. It was definitely an experience that changed me. Keep going forward no matter what world throws you.
I'd recommend DS2 to anyone who hasn't played DS before, the other Demon souls/DS/Bloodborne are nightmares, while DS2 feel more relaxed and more understandable in many aspects. most people need to relax much more in life. the beginning is literal birth, Starts in the womb and exits into the World at Majula. Majula is the warm embrace of mother.
I first played DS2 during the summer going into my senior year of high school. It was only a few months old and I was fresh off beating the first game for the first time. Hearing this music takes me back and its so hard to believe it's been nearly a decade. The calming uncertainty of the track was so fitting for me at the time too. I hadn't thought about my future much until then. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and I was worried about entering adulthood not knowing. A decade later I like the direction I'm heading in and have been for the last few years. Even though I don't have every answer right now, that's okay and I feel like this track will forever have that very personal symbolism with me. Even though DS2 is my least favorite in the series, I still love it and this track is the best in a series that is filled with masterpieces.
My disability seems to worsen my body, I can barely stand up without having such painful symptoms, each day getting a bit more difficult than the last but the soul series has really helped me, hearing this theme really puts me at ease, sure dark souls 2 has it's own issues but it deserves praise from the fans, I love revisiting each game just sit by the bonfire and listening to it's sad but hopefull tales, it makes me happy.

DS1 had the saddest but also worst fire keeper. Save her life and she basically refuses to talk to you. DS2 set the precedent for the firekeepers being part of the plot rather than just people who hang out next to bonfires
Lots of comments say "say what you want but Majula is the best hub". But it's not just a hub. It's a part of the gameplay loop. You leave Majula, explore, die, find a bonfire, fight ennemies, boss. And then, you go back to Majula. Its music its atmosphere fill you with something unique. Again and again.

Majula, a haven of sorrow and despair,
Where lost souls wander, caught in a snare,
A forgotten town, draped in a shroud,
Whispers of darkness pierce through the cloud.
Beneath the moon's pale and haunting glow,
Shades of melancholy steadily flow,
Whispering secrets, ancient and deep,
Chained to the darkness, unable to sleep.
Forgotten dreams, shattered hopes,
Echo through Majula's empty slopes,
Tales of lost warriors, their spirits torn,
Wandering aimlessly, forever mourned.
Yet amidst the bleakness, a glimmer persists,
A beacon of hope, where life still insists,
A bonfire's embers flicker and ignite,
Guiding lost souls back into the light.
Majula, a silent witness to their pain,
Whispers of anguish in the wind's refrain,
But even in darkness, hope can be found,
A solace for souls, forever unbound.

Despair may linger, but there's a chance,
For even the darkest souls to find their way,
And in Majula's embrace, forever to stay.

Indeed well said
I agree to such extent, DS1's Firelink Shrine is a close 2nd to Majula for me. The first half of DS1 is just wonderful.
If only DS1 had more incentives for returning to Firelink Shrine...
DS1 had the saddest but also worst fire keeper. Save her life and she basically refuses to talk to you. DS2 set the precedent for the firekeepers being part of the plot rather than just people who hang out next to bonfires
👍👍👍👍
Dark Souls 2 was so awesome man
Majula, dear place...
My favorite dark souls
I would give anything to go back in time and be a kid again, to play this for the first time again.
Meu primeiro dark sousl e inocentemente estava criando uma das melhores memorias nostalgicas da minha vida
This is what comes to mind when I hear the term “brief respite”
I’m glad I not the only one in love with the Majula vibes
It's incredible that the game most people label as the worst of the souls games, it has the best central hub music. I know it's a small feat, but to me that's pretty damn special. I love this game dude.
It's been a year, I feel peace in majula, I've been having problems sleeping and this really helps me to sleep easily
Outstanding. The emotional connection to this music….
I remember I’d always listen to Majula after a hard days work back in those years. 🎧😴
Currently playing through the Souls games for the first time ever, started Dark Souls 2 a few days ago. When I first arrived in Majula, I almost spend 30min just staying there and listen to the music. Though the music at the area before Majula (I can't remember the name of it. Mean the one where you get to create your character) also had nice music.
You know, if I died and found myself looking out over the sea in Majula...I think I'd be ok with that...
Same thoughts here 😂 You're 100% right!
Could you imagine being able to visit Majula in VR? god I would never take my headset off lol, I would live there, in peace.
Souls saga brought us a lot of amazing places. Majula is incredible indeed...
Ты всё так же прекрасна, как и в первый день как я тебя услышал.
memory unlocked... i thank you
2024, Get up dear hollows, it's time to fight again for those souls.
yes sir
Imma start a playthrough after ecq
I’ve seen so many videos & this one is truly the best in terms of visuals, nice angel
but i feel as though the ambient noise is too loud compared to the music, that’s just my opinion though
True the high quality bonfire with the Emerald Herald in the background is great
rest for a moment with us bearer of the curse
" your controller has disconnected "
nose porque me tranquiliza tanto esta cancion, son unos genios los japos
"Bearer of the curse. I will always be at your side. Until hope has fully withered."
Majula is easily the best hub
Majula is goated.
Who wants to wakeup in a souls when they perish?
OH PLEASE NO I WOULD GET TOO MUCH DONE
basically no one except you.
For dark souls 2 getting as much hate as it does (which I personally disagree with) it made the best hub area ever
Doctor : you only have 10 hours to live
Me :
I finished it, Now time to rewatch
Eternity, there's no time that passes, nothing that comes and goes, no tasks, responsibility or burden, this place is for the exhausted soul that needs peace and feel at home...
Poetic and marvelous! 👍
