      @@ACDodd actually you are rebuilding a carb for Darren to go onto my mini , ones for a twin and the other for my 850 .

    Very interesting video, do you ever work on SUs fitted to engines other than A series?

      Yes, I can work on all engines fitted with SU carbs.

    I'm in the process of doing this on my MGB (standard internals with Pipercross filter and tubular manifold). The standard ACD needles are far too lean and the only way to get the car to perform right is to have the idle mixture too rich. I'll be experimenting with different needles to get the AFR right across the rev range. At the moment if I set it right at idle it leans right off under load and at high rpm.

      That’s because the needles are wrong for the application, you need that corrected really before you drive the car again

      @@ACDodd Thanks, I AAD was a typo - should read ACD. I've got some AAA needles coming so will fit them and get the AFR meter back on and see how it goes. If they turn out to be too rich then I'll try ABDs
