410Hp Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo || RWD Italian Monster On the Limit !!!

  • This time we go to Greece, where at Ritsona HillClimb 2019, we could find this spectacular Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo unit driven by Vagelis Xantzis in a quite aggressive manner. A very Old-School Machine, with a proper H-pattern Gearbox and Three Pedals, Rear Wheel Drive, no electronics whatsoever and quite a bit of Turbo Lag, it is perfect for some "scary" sideways moments.
    With the 1.8L Inline 4 Engine aided now by a Turbo taken from a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII and producing a very healthy 410Hp and moving only 1100Kg, the final result can only be described by the footage provided both outside and Onboard. Although watching Mr. Xantzis manhandling this Beast through this Greek Mountain certainly is something we are sure everyone will appreciate to the fullest....
    Special Thanks to KasG Randy for the footage provided without which this video would be impossible to make. Subscribe to their Channel right here:

    That was not an Alpha Romeo and this guy was not a driver , that was a fighter jet with a pilot , flying centimeters above the tarmac ...wow . That is why i love older cars and especially Italian cars , for that reason right there , that brutal force , raw power !!!! Masterpiece of a car and that turbo ...mmmm music to my ears !!!!

    The stability of the Alfetta setup is just unbelievable. Even with 400hp you can see how predictable and forgiving the handling is. Absolutely nothing unexpected happens at that di-dion rear end 👌 beautiful.

    • @AlfaGTA156
      @AlfaGTA156 5 лет назад +18

      Doesn’t look predictable at its limit, looks quite snappy at the rear and need lightning reflexes to keep the car in check.

    • @olivernew4641
      @olivernew4641 5 лет назад +13

      @@AlfaGTA156 if you listen to the engine it looks to me asthough the only time it twitches is when he puts too much power on too early out of the corners. You can't blame the stability of the car on the power delivery. I'm not saying he's a bad driver, he looks like a very good driver but I think he's having a bit of fun with it. You may disagree but in a way the way it snaps and comes back into line so well is testiment to the handling and stability if the car imo. If you did exactly what he is doing there in most other cars you would wake up in a ditch not knowing what had happened to you..

      I love both cars for what they were but the "evolution" name is real regardless what brand uses it. Is that why AR uses names now like Guilia, so they guarantee no one will "steal" it? Turbo's make little sound unless they're broken and spitting out metal shards.... that's a vent-atmosphere BOV and even a shitty Neon SRT makes that sound.

    Gearbox is at back of the car , has fantastic weight distribution and traction at the rear wheels which is not made apparent in the video because the roads in Greece are very very slippery , unfortunatelly Alfa didnt make these gearboxes strong and also the gear selection is poor especially 2nd gear you can see this in the video, otherwise they have "soul" and very good handling, the last real Alfa.

      @norafizan abdlatif point is, those carmakers you talk about truly started to blossom and produce valid sports cars in the late eighties, but when the 75 Turbo Evoluzione came out what else on the mass produced market was at the same level? Sure, that says nothing about all the decades that came after, many regard the 75 as the last true Alfa, but still...
