5:16 -- during the Abby and Ellie fight -- I noticed Mac uses a grandfather clock ticking sound. Not only do clocks evoke a circular motion (cycles) but it's likely there to evoke Joel's watch.
I don't think her journey in Santa Barbara is about getting revenge anymore. It's clear the 3 days in seattle resulted in nothing but pain for Ellie, she knew revenge would bring her nothing. But then in the farm, she is clealry battling through PTSD as well as the guilt of resenting Joel for 2+ years, not fully forgiving him before he died, and she believes that Abby is the source of all this guilt, because she took Joel away from her. I think her journey in Santa Barbara is Ellie believing that killing Abby will relieve her of this guilt and bring her closure. It's only when she has her seconds away from her death, she realises the pain is still there, the same pain she felt when killing all her friends, she is not feeling the catharsis while nearly killing Abby. So when that flash of Joel shows up, reminding her of that last night they talked before his death, she realises that Abby is not the reason for her guilt and anger and is not what Joel would've wanted for her, because this is not who Ellie is, so she lets Abby go, she is able to hang on to that last bit of humanity she has. It's like Joel's song, "if i ever were to lose you, i'd surely lose myself", Ellie would've truly lost herself if she had killed Abby. So when she comes back to the farm and plays the guitar one last time, and we see the last time Joel and Ellie talk to each other, it's Ellie realising what gives her life meaning, it's more than the cure, this is what Joel saw in Ellie, an innocent child who was able to turn him back into the lovable father in Part 1 instead of the ruthless killer the world turned him into. Thats why Joel tells Ellie that if he had a second chance, he would do the same exact thing. When Ellie puts the guitar down and walks away, i believe she has found closure, she has let Joel go and laid his memory to rest, and has truly forgiven him and herself, to move on and start the life that Joel would've wanted for her.
3:51 when ellie has that quick flashback of joel's bloodied face and she turns to look at abby - CHILLS. love the droning music that plays during that part, it gets me every time
8:34 istg after playing the whole game and this part of the soundtrack played I burst into tears. I kid u not ALSO THANK YOU! you're the only youtube channel I can find that has all the unreleased OSTs that I was looking for. I LOVE UUUU
This game was about knowing a dark past of youre favorite character justification of his or her death and the choice how to be their legacy is either revenge or forgiveness
this fight on the beach to me shows us what ellie’s fighting style will become in part 3. since she’s lost her knife to abby slapping it away you can actually see it drift away in the camera mode
I'm not uploading anymore cues, all of them have been ripped in high quality. Download link - psf4.joshw.info/l/Last%20of%20Us%20Part%20II%2C%20The%20%282020-06-19%29%28Naughty%20Dog%29%28Sony%20IE%29%5BPS4%5D.7z You might need to convert them to wav or mp3 on your own.
a dog bit my finger, creating a crack and bleeding. It's painful, a really horrible feeling, I was going to pass out. At first I only felt the blood coming out, because it started to burn. I wonder if that's how Ellie felt when she lost her fingers.
Being in a fight, im sure the pain didn't really set in until Abby started driving away. I imagine the adrenaline kept the pain manageable until things settled down
Thanks for sharing. You got more, or is this it? I'm trying to find the score where Ellie chases after Nora or just the score during the whole chase and dialogue right when she kills her, but can't find it at all.

Trapped in the trauma of their loss. Broken at the moment it happened. Really interesting point!
5:04. Chills. Every time.
This game truly was what I needed in 2020 it made me see empathy in such a different light and I think empathy is all that was needed in 2020
She was so focused on revenge she didn’t even get to properly grieve
Maybe she was so focused on revenge so that she tried to avoid having to properly grieve.

@@MM-hi that's exactly how I see it 👌
@@MM-hi 🥺 facts
@@MM-hi I totally agree with you

7:34 This part played in HBO's Show Pilot when Marlene was informing Ellie she had a great Purpose ❤️
i never in my life could have predicted this whole final chapter of the game, and i fuckin love it
fun fact: you can dodge Abby when she charges at the start of the fight
And most people dont because they still think its a cutscene, just shows how seamless the transition from cutscene to gameplay is!
Yeah you're right. I did it for the first time.
@@MM-hi I mean, the camera does pan out though.
I love actually letting her tackle Ellie, it just feels right to let it play out like that
That moment when Abby charged at Ellie, whoof, gets me everytime I here that sound lol. So intense!

You man if you want the full version of the last song type this in youtube. The Last of Us Part II - Sad Music Compilation
The full version of it is like 4 minutes.
it kinda touches my heart knowing that the fight music name is "if i ever were to lose you"
Track-list
0:00 - it's you.
3:51 - If I ever were to lose you...
7:34 - Unbound (The Beach)
3:52 I can't let you leave . .
this game ends with me, I stay very sad, everything that happens to Ellie and Abby is very sad, I love Ellie, and I also like Abby
What starts at 8:31 is a version of All Gone (The Promise)
This game was about knowing a dark past of youre favorite character justification of his or her death and the choice how to be their legacy is either revenge or forgiveness

I don’t understand why they didn’t release this track. It’s a masterpiece
They didn't? Are you sure?
