One year later, and I was so inspired by the Broad Strokes version, that I went and found each of the pieces of yardage for the red version of the quilt. I got the final piece in the mail this weekend, and will be cutting and sewing this one up this weekend. One year later!!! How lucky I am.
Hello Fran loved all the quilt submissions. But my favorite is the geisha Prints, they are beautiful I so would want a quilt made from this fabric. Looking forward to seeing more of your shows, they are so informative, and filled with excitement. As you tell us about the people who submitted their quilt squares for consideration. ❤️
I love your enthusiasm for the puppies. Such a sweet quilt. Fran, I wish I had your gift for matching fabrics. You always do a beautiful job. Thanks for another great video. I really enjoy them. 💚 🐶
I love all your videos and you folks there at Fabric Cafe are so fun to watch. Also all the fabrics are so beautiful. Only wish I could afford them. I do quilts from scraps of material that i find or have been given to me. Thank you for your enjoyable and informative videos. I am from Lincoln Maine.
Fran I love the match making tutorials. You explain so well the choosing of fabric and what makes the mixtures work so well together. You are such a sweet young lady, thank you!
Always love your Fabric Matchmaker videos. Could you please do a video on different battings. My husband wants a really warm quilt, while I have family that want a warmish quilt. Thank you for all you do for us quilters!
Loved the Asian fabrics! Broad strokes is a wonderful pattern! I'm gonna try to get your Geisha kit- colors are perfect for a gift for my daughter. She's a Red girl, and I'm a Purple girl, so your kit is perfect!❤
you did it again....I just love the Asian quilts, I've made one a few years ago and now I want to make another one....thanks to you !!! I just love your tutorials, I get all caught up in your enthusiasm and want to start quilting !! Thank you and Fabric Cafe.
Such wonderful selections for the fabrics needing your expertise. I imagine the senders seeking fabric matches are delighted with the 2 fabrics chosen along with the suggested patterns. I would love to see (in a future video), the quilts completed by the ladies. Is it possible to invite the past Match Maker participants to send photos of their completed quilts and show in a video that you would narrate? Fun for all to see the results.
I was really surprised at how different Town Square looks with a pastel background and the black and white background 😮. Your matchmaker series is such fun, and the explanations are very helpful. Thank you.
Enjoy watching every Tuesday & Thursday to see what you come up with.♥️ Any chance ypu can also start showing the quilting designs used. I have made several of the 3 yard quilt patterns & have all the 3 yard quilt books, but am a loss as to how to quilt them (I'm not very good at FMQ)
I so enjoy watching your process in finding matching fabrics and deciding on the pattern! Love the images which usually has that “wow” effect! I’m curious how changing the stripes in Reba’s quilt to the #2 position would look. It would look different but would it be way too much? I know I am overthinking, but sometimes I am curious to see what a mix up in changing fabric positions would look like!! Great job, Fran. Beautiful geisha quilts!
The "Geisha" print you chose is actually of an Oiran! They wore elaborate headdresses (the horizontal gold sticks) and their obi-sash (the large cloth she's tucking her hands under) is always worn to the front. Geisha, in contrast, wore their obi-sash to the back and it was shorter in length. Geisha also wore very simple hairstyles with minimal decoration (in contrast to Oiran). Lovely fabric! Definitely adding it to my wishlist.
Absolutely loved the dog pattern fabric that you did in this Matchmaker series. I would like to see you switch the # 2 & #3 fabric position in your rendering format just to let us see the # 2 light fabric in the #3 position and vice versa. This rendering feature is such a "Valuable" asset to the outcome for many. Thanks for another great tutorial 🧵🪡
Hi Fran. This was a fun video to watch. My favorite kit was Vibrant Swirls but I loved all of the gorgeous fabrics. Congratulations on your new line of fabrics. They are beautiful!
OH Fran, can we use a border fabric in the Broad Stokes pattern. When I looked at the accent fabric and the #2 fabric being framed, it reminds me of a chef border fabric that I might be able to use as a #1. What do you think?
I have actually burnt fabric to check for cotton vs synthetic. It works! Cotton burns and is gone but the synthetic melts and hardens a bit like plastic. I just use small pieces of fabric and put the flame out right away - no need for anything dramatic. :)
How about an episode "matching" backing fabrics? I just made a Porch Rails quilt with some pretty unusual (but way cool) fabric for my son. However, I am totally flummoxed as to what to.back it with....
This was the perfect video for me! I have a yard of fabric with 11” tall pinup girls. I think I found my direction!
The little old man dog is so sweet!
Graceful Pagota is a winner! The computer generated example really helps see the results!
I have the large panel of the Geisha girl. Thank you for the ideas!!!

Wow!! So excited for you Lynnette! I'm sure it will turn out beautifully 🥰
The pattern used for the Geishas fabric looks like the Asian screens. Perfect !
Love the fabric matchmaker shows. You really out did yourself this round. Exceptional solutions to all of the fabrics.

Hi from Maine!
Great Matchmaker quilts Fran!!

Just bought 3 Geisha kits! I'll make the quilt pattern you chose then ask my daughter if she wants pillows or a quilt to match. I'm "sew" excited!❤

I loved all of the quilt patterns you chose. The broads strokes and fandago fabrics were my favorites. You are so good at this. Thanks .
Please do more matchmaker videos!!! Seeing my fabric in patterns is the hardest part of quilting for me!!

Those Geisha fabrics are just beautiful ❤ wonderful selections Fran!
Wow Fran! You’ve really knocked it out of the park this time. I love your matchmaker series, but this time is my absolute favourite. Thanks so much.
Love the match maker. I have that same geisha fabric now I have a pattern for it. Thanks
I wish you could make up some 2 1/2” strips together with your new fabrics and a pattern using 2 1/2” strips.
Lovely and fun choices!
Enjoy watching every Tuesday & Thursday to see what you come up with.♥️

Yes! Me too. That would be great.

Great job, Fran. Beautiful geisha quilts!
Vibrant Swirls is great! Love all the colors & the pattern Fandango works perfectly!
Fun watching Fran. Also watching the “likes” go up faster than she can talk.

Not a fan of that green BUT it goes SO good with that fabric!

Reminds me of an Easter Egg hunt.
What is the name of the green fabric you used in Rebas sample? I want some from yardage or end of bolt.
Was wondering what it would look like if her fabric was in the no.2 spot instead
Do you sell the fandango pattern by its self?
💜💚💜
To check a questionable fabric content, I usually touch the edge of it with a hot iron. If it's poly or a poly blend, it has a definite odor.
