That's because you're probably playing on normal or higher, in these guides the game is set to story mode
I was struggling like most people in the comment section and this tutorial didn't help for a long time. However, I forgot about valor surge available in this fight. Just use this near two snapmaws and it will take around 80% of they HP and also will knock them down, so finishing them will be very easy. Then fight with snapmaw according to this tutorial. I was playing on normal difficulty and with this strategy I made it with the first try with above one minute time advantage (I was struggling around two hours trying different techniques - without using valor surge before). I hope it will help you.

Same already smashed 2 controllers cos of it and if its not him its both of them putting you into stun lock and bricking the game

man, i really loved the first game, but the combat in this one just feels cheap and i hate it half the time. impossible to dodge attacks and lunges that knock you around and leave you stunned for way longer that i find fun, flying enemies can fly so high in the sky directly above you, you cant actually maneuver the camera or a weapon properly have the time so you have to guess a direction to dodge to and hope their dive bomb attacks miss. its just a hot mess with WAY too many "elemental" types. i love a good challenge, just not a cheap one. Sekiro is a prime example of a good challenge.

Every time these enemies gang up on you it’s practically impossible to survive because you just keep being stunned and knocked down and usually this is ok but in the arena it’s way annoying
This trial is so bad. Water everywhere, attacks coming from all side. Bugs all the time. I don't get how they didn't realise it was a disaster

What difficulty is this? Trying this method on hard and they all very much leave the shock state and it’s nearly impossible to constantly blast them with shock and recharge as all three of them are constantly jumping on top of me literally one after another. Takes about 3,5 shock states to down one crocodile.
Easy Guide
To anyone who reads this and is looking this up because they're struggling trying to beat this. If you're on hard just play it on easy. It gives you teh same amount of Medals. Save yourself some Metal Shards and learn from my struggles. Spent around 10k worth of shards trying this on hard

I normally wouldn't agree, but these challenges were clearly tacked on with very little testing or consideration. If the devs cared so little for this section then why the f should I care to beat it on my current difficulty?
So....I have no idea what's going on, but unlike in your playthrough, the Tideripper just leaps over the fence and destroys it. Was this something they changed in the most recent patch?
Bro, turn your difficulty down to easy. I spent hours on hard til I just said f it and finished the whole arena on easy.
Seriously. This is broken. The robots just mash into one on top of you and pancake the ever living shards outta Aloy every time. Story mode it is!
What do you mean by "he will never leave the shocked state"? because i'm watching the enemy leave the shocked state continuously in the video.

I was on the platform watching the machines, waiting for the tide ripper to move away before I jumped then it stuck its head in the platform and PUSHED ME DOWN?

This is genuinely the worst part of this game. It's unbelievably hard and incredibly annoying how you basically can't do anything without that big chungus of an enemy being in your way knocking you down. I don't get how your supposed to dodge anything with it bouncing from end to end and spraying water or whatever tf that is and manage to actually kill all 3 in the space of 3 minutes. THREE!!! Wtf is this. All for a legendary item I'll probably never use.

I don't get to use those weapons. They give me shity common and uncommon weapons. A fixed loadout.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuk this challenge just put it to story mode this challenge is not worth the shards frustration you get the same amount of medals
