- From Satchel Paige to Jackie Robinson many of the greatest players in baseball history started their careers in the historic Negro Leagues. To honor their contribution to baseball history, and their incredible talent, Topps has produced the first concentrated set of Negro League cards featuring players in their original uniforms, designed by Major League Baseball veteran turned artist, Micah Johnson. The full set of cards will be revealed during MLB at Rickwood Field: A Tribute to the Negro Leagues June 20th on Fox.

I'll be 72 years young in a few m0re days and baseball and cards have been my joy all these years. I have 10's of thousands of cards from the 50's to the present but its my older cards from way back that I cherish and my Negro league cards ( not original), I cherish most! Satchel Paige and Jackie Robinson are my favorites! Cant wait to find me some of these newer ones! They look awesome! Thank you for this video!
I love those set! Living up the street from Jackie Robinson ballpark has been great! This Negro League collection is a long overdue celebration of talent. I scooped R1-R4, but somehow missed 5 & 6. Can't find the dates on Topps for the last 2 either. ?
Great idea. If we could see this set expand with one new card a week for the next 3 to 5 years it would be amazing and collectors would learn so much beyond the great players like Mays, Jackie and Paige.

What I wouldn’t give to stand in the box with Satchel on the mound. I wouldn’t take the bat off my shoulder. I just want to hear the ball whizz over the plate and smack the catcher’s mitt. And see Satchel smile.❤⚾️

I think this is fantastic. I’m 62 now, kind of done with baseball the past decade or so. It’s a changed game (for me) but give me old time baseball and it turns me into a 12 y/o little leaguer again, when baseball was rampant in my DNA. I somehow lost it along the way and that’s too bad. It seems there was a lot more talk about the Negro league back then, and that too seems to have went by the wayside. I used to collect Tops cards as a kid. Those too are all gone, I hate to think of the cards I had that were tossed. I’m going to see if I can get a hold of these cards though, going to do that right now.
Topps was sold to Fanatics since it had already lost its MLB exclusive license deal, so now it's a different kind of scam.
I still love cards, and never tossed mine. And while I've been reticent on wasting money on new cards, these at least have soul. Long overdue.

Most of the great ones of the era like Dihigo and Tiant Sr. also played in the negro leagues.
Los Tiantes should be in the HOF if.you ask me
what about them? They played in Negro Leagues too . Latino doesnt matter ,they are black
