    The Rangers are not losers. Drury learned his lesson from last year and filled the depth holes instead of selling the farm for a rental splash.

      They were not as good as Florida already but letting Carolina jump them in the East because they got Guentzel is why they're a loser. Now can they still beat Carolina? Sure but no one with a brain is taking them in 7 unless you subscribe to the Shesty theory but it won't be like the 2022 series where one hip Raanta and a rookie Kotchekov will play in said series.

    • @1rtt1

      ????? He gave away more future pics for 3 low tier RENTALS. Each one of those players are free agents after this season is over. Hence they are rentals. 3rd year in a row getting players who wont be under contract after season is over. So looks like Drury will get more mid 30's vets for 850,000 single season deals and sell it as "Competition" - Again - to the ignorant Rangers fan base. This team has been chasing the single cup run for as long as I can remember. The best they ever did at building a contender for at least a 4 year window was 2011-2015. The so called rebuild letter during 17-18 was a farce. And they proved it when they gave back a first round pick for Trouba at end of 18-19 season. Then paid him 6mil more then he is worth.

    • @HarrisonHollers

      I like the Rangers moves. The team is in 1st for a reason. They plugged their holes and have a deeper lineup. The Canes still have serious question marks in goal - they are not winners for not adding a goalie. Guentzel is injured so let’s see how he plays this season. Canes underperform in the playoffs year after year. The Rangers have given up mid round draft picks - who cares about those. Draft picks mean nothing. The 1st round can be good but still nothing is guaranteed. Rangers have a huge agent in free agency as players want to play at MSG in NYC. They can sign guys for favorable contracts - Jon Quick. How’d that move turn out? Vinny Trocheck? Chose NY over Carolina and Pittsburgh.

    • @zmetapod8848
      @zmetapod8848 7 месяцев назад

      In Trocheks case Carolina just didnt wanna pay him the money he was asking for and the rangers did so... Canes also made the conference finals last season and lost to one of the hottest goalies since 2011 Tim Thomas in the playoffs. The rangers on the other hand are totally reliant on their goaltending, luckily shesterkin is a beast, but weve seen what happens when hes average... Id take Carolina over the rangers in a 7 game series, always a fun matchup too@@HarrisonHollers

    While i wont say they are "winners" , the Rangers certainly werent losers.
    As a fan who watches every game, i can assure you Kakko has zero to do with any deficiencies the team has. I know, I know, the point production.
    " He only has 11 points "
    If you wanna talk numbers, i have some numbers that supercede his point production.....
    Rangers record in '23-'24 :
    Without Kakko 10-10-1
    With Kakko 30-8-3
    Mika Zibenejad is nearly a point per game player. You want to know when his last 5v5 goal was???

      To a kid who is by far, their strongest and best F at carrying the puck. Especially in an established offensive zone shift. He is now an aggressive and effective forechecker, who more often than not, wins possession in board battles.
      Of course I'd love to see the point production increase.
      He got actual PP time last night, and not just a quick, 1 rush into the zone 30 second shift after PP1 takes the 1st 90 .
      What do ya know???
      Kid slams one home.
      I'm not saying he'll do Hughes #'s

    A big thing that's being slept on about Vegas' moves is that it's just not about this year. They would have made all of these moves in this offseason, whether or not Vegas makes the playoffs or does anything in the playoffs.
    Hanifin is a long-term replacement for an aging Martinez
    Hertl is a long-term replacement for Stephenson.
    Mantha is a low risk dice roll that, if he fits, they re-sign him for a middle six spot. If he doesn't, they let him walk with little lost.

  • @JustinMogollon199
    @JustinMogollon199 7 месяцев назад +3

    Interesting video. I do agree with some of these. But to say that the Rangers were a loser? That is so not true. This was a great trade deadline in my opinion. They just found their missing pieces, and didn't lose Kakko, Lindgren, and other amazing prospects such as Othmann and Perreault in the process. Alexander Wennberg is good and is a perfect replacement for Filip Chytil, Jack Roslovic is good and is a perfect replacement for Blake Wheeler, and Chad Ruhwedel kind of makes sense so he could take over for Fox, Trouba, or Schneider if they are not and not force Lindgren, Miller, or Gustafsson to go on their off side. In fact, this deadline is identical to the trade deadline in 2022, where we didn't get big pieces or big splashes, but get the final pieces of the puzzle. In 2022, we were like "We need to fill the Top 6, the 4th line, and a perfect partner for Braden Schneider. Let's get Frank Vatrano, Andrew Copp, Tyler Motte, and Justin Braun!". And as we know, it worked as Vatrano and Copp became contributors to the Rangers run to the Conference Finals. We could have kept Vatrano and Copp (and also Buchnevich, Tarasenko, and Kane), but we couldn't since the Barclay Goodrow signing had to happen (and with how he is doing this season, it proved me right that the Goodrow signing is an albatross). Last year, we went all in and made big moves to get Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrick Kane (and also Nikko Mikkola. Also, we got Tyler Motte back). That didn't go well as we lost in the 1st round to A MINOR LEAGUE GOALIE (who now sucks), and we especially knew that since the Boston Bruins made big splashes and would lose in the first round, while the Florida Panthers did nothing at the deadline, yet made it to the Stanley Cup Finals with what they had. And now this year, it is the same as 2022. We were like "We need to find replacements for Chytil and Wheeler, and an extra right handed defenseman so we won't force our left defenders to go off side. Let's get Alexander Wennberg, Jack Roslovic, and Chad Ruhwedel!" We didn't get much, but we didn't need to. We made the right moves, and I can't wait to see how they will do and how the Rangers will be moving forward.
    To me, the real losers were the Ottawa Senators, the New Jersey Devils, the New York Islanders, and the San Jose Sharks. The Ottawa Senators because they traded Vladimir Tarasenko for a 3rd and a 4th. Seriously Ottawa? You trade one of your best players for a 3rd and 4th? Like, I get Florida doesn't have a 1st round pick, but you could at least get a 2nd out of it, Evan Rodrigues and a prospect or two. The New Jersey Devils are also losers since they not only traded Vitek Vanacek for Kaapo Kahkonen and have Jake Allen and Kaapo Kahkonen as the new goalie tandem, but they traded their top goal scorer, Tyler Toffoli, to the Jets for a 3rd and next year's 2nd. The biggest problem for the Devils was goaltending, and the best they can do is Jake Allen and Kaapo Kahkonen? No Jacob Markstrom. No Juuse Saros. No Linus Ullmark. Just Jake Allen and Kaapo Kahkonen. The Devils have officially ended their season because of those trades, and I was laughing so hard when they happened. As for the New York Islanders, what did they do? Nothing! Absolutely nothing! And I celebrated the trade deadline laughing at the Devils and Islanders. And the San Jose Sharks are losers for losing Tomas Hertl. The All Star, the leading goal scorer, the man who carried the tanking Sharks, and they just trade him away. Sure, they got a 1st and a prospect, but they could have done better and got like William Karlsson, Chandler Stephenson, or anything worth getting for Tomas Hertl. It is clear the Sharks are tanking as the Sharks are basically Logan Couture. Just Logan Couture. And that's it.

    Your assessments seem based mostly on who got the best players out there. Sometimes it is better to get the right player instead of the best one available. Last year’s Rangers went after the best available and landed Tarasenko and Kane. Both were a bust because that was not what was needed. Drury avoided making that mistake this year.

    The Kings may not win a playoff game.
    Vegas will repeat barring injury.

    Rangers as losers? Um, NO. It isn't about who you get, it's about how they perform and how they fit within the framework/chemistry of the team. Last season everyone proclaimed the Rangers as the winners for getting Kane, Tarasenko, etc. and that got them a 1st round exit ... meanwhile a more unheralded guy named Barbashev turned out to be the best "add". When the Rangers picked up Vatrano for a 4th, people were "meh" and he meshes and played well in the Top 6, and this season maybe that's Roslivic - or should we have paid a 1st rounder PLUS for Vatrano hoping that "lightning" strikes twice? I'm not saying they were winners, but definitely not losers. They addressed their holes and retained all their best assets.

I think Mantha was a low risk dice roll to see how he fits on the team, similar to how Stephenson was initially.
