@@Aldrahill it's been a while since I did Great Horde, I can't remember whether you can get away with razing the provinces too or not (lowering the Dev of those provinces might mean you're not at the necessary 10%). You could get to 10% by just conquering a little further though I suppose (Odoyev, Shirvan, Imereti etc) But even if you can't that's still a lot less points lost/spent compared Dev pushing Feudalism - especially when you'll also need to push Renaissance.
Hah, thanks buddy I really appreciate that! I’m nowhere near as good as some of the REALLY good players like zleiwik or like Florry, but I do love this game :D been playing it since release and have a LOT of content for it as well :P
Little tips, when you play as a horde, never vassalize or release a vassal. It is not worth releasing Kazakhs as you don’t need AE reduction since you re perma at war and so no cohalition. The only moment when you should release a vassal when playing a horde is when you are way to overextended (OE or gov cap issues). Owning provinces directly means you can raze and so monarch points etc. That s worth tanking some AE. Besides great video keep it up.
Governing cap ends up being a pain, and with only one estate you can only get so much before the mid game techs. Vassals are also guaranteed extra troops in wars, and in cases like Kazakh they can have tons of cores, which makes provinces incredibly cheap to take in wars. I'd argue the exact opposite, that you have no reason *not* to have vassals up to your diplo limit. You're not gonna have allies, so might as well have subjects.
@@hirocheeto7795 considering the expansion path he took, there was no need to release a vasal in the steppes. In india, persia or balkans why not because they will be powerful and self sustainable. As a horde you shouldn’t be full stating much anyways (especially in the steppes because these provinces suck) since you won’t make much from taxation and production. You base your economy of off trade and trade companies so gov cap should not be as much of a problem.
@@etienneleblanc755 Kazakh has tons of cores. They may not be very high developed provinces, but that's all the more reason to release them. You can only raze maybe half of the region, and what you *can* burn gives barely anything in return. You might as well release Kazakh to take as much land as possible to get to actually good development (China if going East, Persia/Europe if going West). Also Trade Companies have an increased governing cost, making vassals even more valuable than they otherwise would be in the scenario where stating land isn't desirable.
@@etienneleblanc755 Agree that the way he used the vassals here was bad (always take the land for yourself even if you intend to use vassals. Raze and grant.) but disagree that vassals are ALWAYS bad for hordes. Can't get trade companies in same region provinces. That's exactly where vassals are most useful. Also they contribute a lot more to you, (especialy when you're smaller) than the land would as a territory. Also, what's the most annoying thing about playing a horde? Chasing small unrestricted stacks across your wide territory. Vassals give you free forts and buffer states. You can actually make use of prosperity for once if you play your cards right! Definitely plenty of use cases for them.
There is an achievement for speedforming Mongol Empire before 1610, but people did it before colonialism(well, with Oirat ofc) so you didn't need to admit to your mistake, would be enough to say that was your goal from the get-go and everyone would be none the wiser
This almost happened to me with the rome achievement but i managed to stack so much diplo annexation cost as spain into rome that i annexed my personal union over russia in a matter of 6 years, 4 years before the game ended and i finished the game with 15000 dev
great horde - golden horde - yuan - mongol empire - was my first ever world conquest... the start is hard but if you expand quick enough as great horde, break up lithuania before it becomes a pu, pick off all the neighbours within 10-20 years the rest of asia, africa is a cake walk.. then its just the slow, horrible slog for europe
The trick is to attack QUICK! Move on December 11th, get strong, and kill Ryazan ASAP so Muscovy can't get thme. And then attack Muscovy ASAP once they are either weak / distracted, like I do in this video :)
Crimea & Kazan are better than the Great Horde because the both had the special unique national ideas while the Great Horde only has the basic Horde national ideas
deving for feudalism feels like a HUGE waste of mana youre surrounded by multiple small weak countries with feudalism embraced, conquer, core, embrace, easy, I got feudalism in 1450 by rushing circasia, ryazan and gazikmuth embraced with muscovite tribute event money (no loans needed) yet i still managed to beat muscovy crimea and kazan by 1460 and with saved mana i'm 5 5 5 on tech and have 17.5 innovation in 1464 I think you don't need to rush crimea this fast the ottoman event doesn't fire untill crimean rules dies

I made the exact same mistake. Now I'm extra careful to watch what provinces I need to directly hold.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one this happened too! :P
Me too that is a conan evet Among men
somehow my game crashes when that happens to me ;-)
Yeah it’s crazy how often that can happen ;)
If you conquer Ryazan/Circassia first you can just embrace Feudalism from their land.
Oh my god… that is an excellent tip :(

If anything, by forming the golden horde 29 years before the acheivement date, you've just shown how good you are at the game. Props dude.

Wait, what’s the achievement? I could easily do that before 1610! I think I’m on track for like 1515 or so tbh
That achievement is called KHAAAAAAN. It's to form Mongol Empire before the Age of Absolutism (1610, provided Global Trade spawns on time).
Oh damn I could easily do that! I should’ve made the video that xD I suppose I can do that if I get the likes goal!
Fuck the Mongol empire, people have done one tag world conquests in less than 30 years

I do that! It just bugs out sometimes :/

Oh yeah, you could easily do it MUCH faster, I know some people do it in literally half the time! This was still an achievement for me :)

Vassal feeding as a horde really never feels worth it since razing makes coreing so cheap and easy
